My May 2021 Sock Panda Review
When you join Sock Panda, you can choose to receive one or two pairs of socks per month. You also can choose between “Wild & Crazy,” “Patterns & Prints,” or "One of Each". I chose to receive "Wild & Crazy" because I find the flare they add to my daily outfits fun and exciting!
Primary Socks
I have no idea why, but for some reason when I caught a glimpse of these socks my mind went straight to the children's show "Calliou." It must because the colors are similar to the bright yellow shirt with the red trim that he wears....and it made me chuckle! I don't have a lot of clothing in these particular colors, but think these would look cute with a white tank, cuffed jeans, and my white sneakers. I did find that this pair of socks are extra stretchy and do not incorporate the usual logos as other Socka Panda socks. They're also a bit shorter in height than previous pairs, but I found them comfortable and easy to wear.
Corn Cob Socks
I was getting a John Deere vibe when I first pulled out this pair of socks, and then I realized they look identical to a cob of corn! As a gardener, we typically harvest about 400 ears of sweet corn a summer to freeze, can, and enjoy throughout the season, so this pattern was right up my alley! My youngest son follows in my dad's tendencies and requests corn as a side dish for almost every meal, so he exclaimed that these socks were "super sweet!" -- no pun intended! This particular pair covers quite a bit of my calf and is stretchy and comfy. I have been strutting around the house wearing these paired with black shorts and a white tee and enjoying every second of it! Now I just can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can get planting!
Verdict: With Sock Panda, my sock drawer has become more colorful than the rainbow. This month I received two very different patterns, and I have to say I enjoyed both pairs. The corn cob socks were definitely my favorite as they allow me to showcase one of my favorite pastimes, but I found room in my heart for the Calliou socks as well. I have found this brand of socks to be comfy, high quality, and easy to match after laundering, which you can't beat! I can't wait to see what kind of socks we receive next month!
