Allure Beauty Box May 2021 Available Now + Full Spoilers

Finally received my May box.

I can’t figure out how to open this darn lipstick. Any hints! Feeling pretty dumb 🤣

I love red lipsticks and wearable pink ones. However, corpse-like lips in nude or neutral shades wash me out (I’m a cool-toned skin natural blonde). I guess I’ve always loved these two colors. Anything else and it’s a no way from me. I must be in the minority. However, Allure honestly has to make a good box in my eyes to ever sub with them again considering I buy my makeup on my own and just always loved their end-of-the-year skincare boxes. Did they do that last year? Maybe my memory is messing up, lol. With an increase in price, I expect an increase in diverse products that aren’t constantly recycled from one box to another or from one other sub box to another sub box. Sigh. Maybe I’m burned out.

The shipping label for my box was created today. They’re at least back on time with that.

If all goes well, I should have my box by the end of next week.

YUCK!!!! Another Red Lip product. Not everyone can wear Red lips. Being a natural Redhead with pale skin, when I tried the previous ones Allure has sent, my husband told me I looked like a hooker.

I AM DONE WITH ALLURE FOR GOOD! This canceling of all their Canada subs is the last straw for me. After trying them on and off for years, they were finally at a really great place last year. Their customer service was amazing compared to what they were like 2 years ago, boxes were great, and the value was phenomenal.

Then there was that price increase. It broke my heart, but I stayed because every time I’ve had an issue this past year, their customer service people have been wonderful and fixed things without question or issue. Better service than the other boxes I’ve sub. But the boxes themselves have not been that much better, if at all, since the increase, nor have I seen any changes to their service that made it worth it (other than giving me the ability to give them more money by upselling me their old product)… until they started shipping to Canada. Though costly, I was so happy to get this for my mom instead of sending her one-off products to try. I was so incredibly excited for her to get this sub as her mother’s day gift this year, but I am now less than a week away, learning that she will not be getting it!?!?!

This was just a disappointment that cuts too deep for me and speaks volumes about Allure’s staff. I am so upset and have no faith that they plan to make anything better for the customer anytime soon. I feel uncared for after being very loyal to people who evidently just want to make a quick buck rather than be a source of knowledge and experience. Sorry but I don’t want to do this anymore, it’s over, and I already feel better for it. In the rearview mirror, this box seems classist and non-inclusive on purpose, since years later they are still not doing anything about their lack of product selection for our darker skin tones and raised the price a ridiculous amount without a lower-cost version during a moment of economic turmoil for anyone who wasn’t the kind of person at their offices.

Canceled my account along with my daughter’s (and forcefully my mother’s) and getting all three of us a monthly pint of Ben & Jerry’s with HBO subscriptions instead. I think at this point it will be much better to just every so often get a well-thought-out and desired beauty product for each of us that we absolutely love or want. Maybe in the far future, I will try another box again, but definitely not Allure. Sorry, not sorry for this rant.

Please let me know if any of you have great suggestions for what to do in place of the Allure Box as a regular gift to our three generations of ladies.

OMG, I watched the unboxing video on the Allure website, and the teaser for June is Laruse brushes that Ipsy had a year ago.

They’re decent brushes, but seriously??

Am I imagining things or did Allure not promise at least 4 full size products when they increased the price? I don’t see 4 full size here, there’s only 6 items total because “bonus items” don’t count in my book. That’s why it’s called a bonus. I want to try that wander product and it’s worth the price of the box, but I’m cancelling after this month. I just signed up for FFF, which may be quarterly but it costs the same or less for a year and you get so much more and choices too!

I am really excited for this. The lipstick looks really pretty, and I really want to try the CosRx Propolis Light Ampoule!

I know everyone has their own favorite lipstick colors but I wish these boxes would move away from the red, universal mauve color or bright pink lipsticks. I would pay more to pick a different color. I know this won’t happen but please can there just be a “we’re sending you red but if you want the nude pink instead it’s $5 extra”. I know this won’t happen but can’t a girl dream…lol

Hi, I have a question. If I gift a subscription to someone does it get renewed automatically?

I might get this for the serums and the lipstick. I recently signed up for FFF, so I guess it depends on what I pick for that.

The problem isn’t that it’s not retail higher than cost, but that since the items aren’t full size it tends to lead to sample overload, and it’s not staying competitive with other boxes since the price jump.

For example, Fashionsta is $25 a month, but sends 6 full-size items. Normally, with a few exceptions, these items are good brands that work well. The eye mask from a couple months ago was extra amazing. (They did have to rush source a julep teal liner this month that, while gorgeous, smears on the lower eyelid easily.) I’d rather have a product that is useful and works, whether it’s rv is $60 or $160, than a couple high rv items and some filler stuff of varying quality.

Allure does tend to often include one or two “pricier” options, but the rest of the box can feel like filler. I find I generally only grab what I want from my Allure boxes and the rest becomes clutter or stuff to give or donate – while I actually use more of the items from other boxes. I’ve skipped one Allure box this year, and barely held on this month since I wanted the propolis, but it’s the box I’m closest to cancelling.

Wowsers, this site has gone downhill quick. Spoilers on other sites are posted before here and they’re missing some. Like Beauty Heroes for instance. Megan seems to grab a box when they are sold out. For everyone, I would choose alternate sites to get more up to date info.

Did I see somewhere that Allure is now shipping to Canada?

I was hoping for the lipstick to be a variation. I’d love to see allure featuring a lip balm with spf.

Am I the only one that is seriously underwhelmed about this box? I feel like since the price increase Allure has gone downhill to include repeat products. Should’ve skipped last month and am definitely skipping this month. Lame.

I have a year subscription and this box has me PSYCHED! I am a fair skinned, dark haired (thanks to Revlon Root Erase) red lipstick LOVER! Lots of skincare, no black eye liner and no mascara! As Red Sox fans chant in the middle of Sweet Caroline- so good So Good SO GOOD!

And it looks like the shower gel is a variation with sheet masks.

If the sunscreen was full size I would probably like this better, but Allure feels so underwhelming for the price point.
