MoonBox Summer 2021 "Expand" Review

Every quarter, MoonBox sends a box guide full of information about the oncoming season including an Astro forecast, mantras, rituals as well as information and instructions on how to use each item.

Summer's mantra is "Make every day a day to celebrate yourself and your fellow human beings." This card describes summer as a season to celebrate, especially after what the last year has put us through! Let your hair down and congratulate yourself for making it this far---you are responsible for your own success, so embrace that feeling and fly with it!

Cosmic Art Tapestry by Natasha Chomko

Every quarter, MoonBox includes a stunning art tapestry by the very talented Natasha Chomko. Another gorgeous print to display; I can almost feel the sun and smell the wet sea air! This print measures 6x9 and would look great as is or framed.

Fleur & Bee Vitamin C Serum, 1fl oz - Retail Value $28.00

Within the last couple of weeks, I made the realization that my complexion wasn't exactly glowing. I've been so busy working and chasing my toddler that I really haven't had a chance to pull out the magnifying mirror and critique, as we all like to do out of self-deprecating curiosity. After having this thought for a few weeks, this serum fell into my lap, and honestly, I laughed out loud; is this fate? I've been so content using this product and noticed a world of a difference even the first morning after an evening application. This non-drying gel serum pampers the skin, thanks to aloe vera, vitamin E, and jojoba while brightening and tightening, thanks to its 15% sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a form of vitamin C that is less likely to cause irritation. There are no artificial fragrances (thank you!), and it is formulated without the use of GMOs, silicones, or parabens.

E Resonance Stress Reduction Essentials Card Deck - Retail Value $25.66

As my family goes through changes and adapts to today's atmosphere, these cards seem more and more helpful every day. Not only are they beautiful, but the tips and tricks displayed on the back will help guide you through different methods of relaxation and ways to cope with stressors. There are 40 cards total, each with a 10-minute self-care activity to help bliss out your summer.

Ettitude Bamboo Lyocell Hair Scrunchie Set, 2 Scrunchies - Listed Value $20.00

Is anyone else truly grateful that scrunchies are back and hopefully here to stay? This pair of eco-friendly scrunchies are made from organic bamboo to cradle your hair without exacerbating damage or breakage. Luckily, these are also great if you are prone to ponytail creases, and they look so darn cute. Are they worth $20? Probably not, but getting high-value items for a low cost is the beauty of subscription boxes!

Wild Witch Apothecary The Sun Tea, 4oz - Retail Value $11.11

Everyone I know knows me for my obsessive tea-drinking, especially chilled teas in the summer. There is nothing more refreshing! Wild Witch's Sun Tea is made from certified organic ingredients with top notes of calendula and chamomile with a hint of ginger. This blend is caffeine-free and meant to evoke feelings of personal empowerment and radiance.

I enjoyed this brew on ice, but it also hit right straight from the pot.

Cheers!

Fractalista Designs Carnelian Agate Pocket Stone - Retail Value $16.00

When I was a preteen, I had a worry stone that was almost identical to this, and I thought it was the best thing to ever exist (I still have/love it today!) The colors and patterns of this stone are beautiful, plus the Mandala design is just the cherry on top! Carnelian, which is a form of agate/chalcedony quartz, can be grounding while also have an invigorating effect. It is used to improve focus (yes, please!) and helps to encourage balance and inspiration. MoonBox suggests keeping this in your pocket or bra for good vibes on the go.

The Verdict: MoonBox's "Expand" box was a delightful mix of what summer should look like; it is an invitation back into society, letting people in again and embracing the possibilities. It is inviting your neighbor over for delicious sun tea, yet also focusing on treating yourself, too, with well-deserved rest, skincare, and TLC. MoonBox supports small businesses and chooses premium goods to inspire and pamper its subscribers. I love the variety of items sent out each month, and I can always find a use or gift someone with each thoughtful item. This month's box has a retail value of $100.77, not including the tapestry or guide; I think that is a great value for this type of box!

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Haha! They brighten my day, every day! 🙂 My husband got them from a comic festival a few years back.

I think that this is a cute box but I think it’s way overpriced.

I agree it is pricey, but I have no problem justifying it with the “treat yo’self” philosophy 😉
