Bespoke Post is giving My Subscription Addiction readers a sneak peek at their July 2021 boxes.
Here are two of the boxes you'll be able to select July 1st:
Dram: Learn Your Way Around a Whiskey List
Whiskey is having a renaissance in watering holes and home bars across the country, and if you’re not up on your ryes, bourbons, and Scotches, it’s time to do some mouthwatering research. That begins with the right barware: a proper glass, expertly-made ice, some reading material, and a ready-made mix for your first cocktail.
Mixology Charme DOF Glasses, 12.75 oz, Set of two, (Diam.) 3.4” x (H) 3.8”: Good whiskey deserves a good home. And it doesn't get much better than these glasses, crafted in Italy from Luigi Bormioli’s custom SON.hyx material. SON.hyx is extra-durable, breakage-resistant, and brilliant in appearance, retaining its shine and transparency through over 4,000 industrial washing cycles. The heavy base is traditional in style, letting you easily muddle fruit or herbs when you're mixing a cocktail, and it gives the glasses a substantial, comfortable feel.
Jumbo Ice Ball Molds, Set of two: If you want your whiskey on the rocks, this is the way to do it. The clever design lets you make 2.5" spheres of ice, just like the best mixology joints use, to add the final X factor to your glass. Beyond looking cool, the larger piece of rounded ice melts more slowly and has less surface area than a bunch of cubes, so your dram gets nicely chilled without being too watered down.
A Field Guide to Whisky by Hans Offringa: Whether you're a connoisseur or a fledgling sipper, the whiskey landscape is full of rich nuance. To lay a foundation of expert knowledge — from how to differentiate between the various types of whiskey, to proper storage, to the dos and don’ts of pairings, and more — flip through this substantial hardcover volume. Renowned author, taster, and all-around whiskey expert Hans Offringa writes thoughtfully about whiskey's endless nuances, decoding the jargon-filled world of the well-loved spirit.
Traditional Old Fashioned Syrup: The drink might be called an Old Fashioned, but this syrup is anything but. It's made from a mix of quality cane sugar and molasses with an intoxicating blend of orange and other aromatic bitters — in other words, all the non-booze components that make up an Old Fashioned. To use it, just add half an ounce of syrup (or a bit less, for a less sweet drink) to two ounces of whiskey, add ice, and stir. One bottle is enough for 16 cocktails, so you might want to invite over some company.
River: Gear Made For a Great Day on the Water
The season of rafting, fishing, kayaking, and diving is finally here.
Tanu Dive and Rescue Knife, Total (L) 8.5”, Blade (L) 3”: A diving knife built to withstand anything the water can throw at it. The first thing you’ll notice is the blunt tip — the blade’s made that way to prevent puncturing an inflatable raft (or your wetsuit). Gear Aid crafted the blade from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and slotted it into a burly, rubberized handle for a proper grip underwater.
In addition to the long, straight blade, it’s got a serrated edge and a line cutter — plus a spring-loaded stainless steel sheath that can sit on the hip of your wetsuit or your life vest (so you can grab the knife with one hand).
- 304 brushed stainless steel blade
- Blunt tip that won’t puncture inflatable rafts
- Straight edge, serrated edge, and line cutter
- Thermoplastic rubber grip and acetal handle
- Bright handle color for underwater visibility
- Acetal sheath and spring-loaded stainless steel belt clip
Utility Pouch, (W) 3.25" x (H) 5": An all-purpose pouch for small stuff you need to keep handy when you’re fishing, diving, boating. It was designed for carrying small fly fishing gear tins, but it can wrangle everything from sunscreen and bait to a single cold beer.
Anti Fog Spray, .5 oz: You don’t have time for foggy goggles – you’ve got exploring to do. This spray from Gear Aid prevents fogging on glasses, sunnies, goggles, face shields, and more, with an alcohol-free formula that works in just one spritz.
