Atlas Crate "Poland" Review

This airmail envelope contains several informative cards and our passport sticker to add to our Adventure Book.

In our first box, we received an Adventure Book that contained cards for each of the continents and we are able to add to it each month as we receive cards for each of the new countries.

The cards for our adventure book are bright, vibrant, and full of information about Poland.

They always include some "do" pages and this month we have a recipe for Pierogi Leniwe, and some instructions for making our own Wianki (wreath).

The kids are always eager to check out the cards and learn more about our destination.

Activity #1: Wycinanki Egg

The first project was to make a Wycinanki Egg using a glue method. This seemed like the perfect activity for my daughter.

They provided the egg, a mess mat, glue, a bowl for the glue, a paintbrush, and some paper shapes to create our designs.

She worked with layers of glue and paper to form a flower on the bottom half of her egg and a rooster and plant on the top half. She would add glue and then paper, then more glue before adding her next color paper.

It's still wet here, but I thought it turned out pretty cool! This was a fun way to work with paper and glue and something we might have to repeat with some tissue paper.

My son was eager to make his own design on paper using the leftover materials. It turned out pretty neat, too!

Activity #2: Pajak

Our next project was to make a Pajak, a traditional geometric ornament. My son and I worked on this one together.

They provided several small sticks, some small plastic tubes, brad fasteners, an elastic cord, and some wooden joints. They also provided some paper flowers in various colors and sizes and some foam discs for decorations.

First, it was just a matter of adding the tubes to the connector ends and then adding sticks to each one to form our geometric shape. With the last section, we had to fold up the shape to get it connected.

Next, we layered the paper flowers and used the brads to add them to the hole in the center of the connector pieces. Then we added the elastic to one of the top ones so it could hang.

The last step was to add the discs to the sticks to further decorate them. Each disc had a slit and a hole in the center so it was easy enough to just slide them into place.

It is definitely such an interesting art piece and I like that we can move the discs around any time to switch up the style, too!

Verdict: We love how fun and easy our Atlas Crate projects are each month! There are always two different activities making it ideal for my son and daughter to do with just a little bit of guidance from me. Everything is well organized and the directions are easy-to-follow which means it makes mom happy, too! I thought both of our projects turned out great and we learned some fun new art techniques!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
