Sephora Favorites Fresh Picks Perfume Sampler Review

Here is the info sheet for the perfumes included. On the other side is the information you need to redeem for your rollerball or travel spray, so make sure to keep this safe. If you're curious about the new online redemption process, I go into more detail about that below.

Sephora Collection Clean Eye Mask in Pomegranate - Retail Value $3.50

Along with the perfumes and the scent certificate, this set also came with a single-use eye mask. I consider myself a bit of an eye mask connoisseur, and I wasn't crazy about this one- the biocellulose material was too thin, meaning it dried out on my skin way before I would have liked. That being said, I appreciate that it was included in the set and if you prefer quicker masks to use then this may be for you.

Chloé Rose Tangerine Eau de Toilette, 1.2 ml - Estimated Value $3.84 (Certificate redeems for the 0.33 oz travel spray worth $32.00)

This fragrance has notes of tangerine essence, rose absolute, and black currant. On my skin it started off really fruity, and as the top notes faded the rose was more noticeable. Sometimes rose fragrances can lean a bit powdery, but this was more freshly picked rose than it was rose soap in your grandmother's guest bathroom. All around this was a nice fragrance, but it didn't stand out to me the way some of the other perfumes did.

Floral Street Wonderland Peony Eau de Parfum, 1.5 ml - Estimated Value $4.5 (Certificate redeems for the 0.34 oz travel spray worth $30.00)

This was another serious contender for which perfume I wanted to redeem my scent certificate – it is sweetly floral in an incredibly pleasing way. I am not quite sure what peony smells like the way I am with rose, but if it's like this then I will happily take an all-peony bouquet. While I enjoyed the scent, I also enjoyed that it wasn't overpowering- it doesn't punch you in the face the way some other perfumes can. The official notes are black currant, pink pepper, and candy floss- when I sprayed it on my boyfriend, to him it actually smelled a little like fruity bubblegum.

Giorgio Armani Si Passione, 1.2 ml - Estimated Value $3.48 (Certificate redeems for the 0.34 oz travel spray worth $29.00)

This fragrance was a little hard to pin down- to my nose there were some citrus notes and the finish was a little soapy, but Armani says the notes are rose and woody vanilla. I wasn't crazy about this but did appreciate that it was a long-wearing scent on my skin.

NEST New York Seville Orange Perfume Oil, 1.75 ml - Estimated Value $10.21 (Certificate redeems for the 0.27 oz rollerball worth $35.00)

I love citrus- both to smell and to cook with. The perfume oils from Nest are actually a new product launch, and while I don't love rollerballs I almost chose this one to redeem my scent certificate for until my boyfriend sniffed it. This is a true citrusy scent with notes of orange zest, pink grapefruit, and neroli blossom. All of those scent notes are easy to detect, and this is how I learned that my boyfriend doesn't actually like grapefruit. I'm around him often enough that his opinions on my perfume matter a tad so that ultimately dissuaded me from choosing this fragrance- but I love that this $25 kit allows you the option to redeem for a $35 fragrance.

Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Mon Paris, 1.2 ml - Estimated Value $3.60 (Certificate redeems for the 0.34 oz rollerball worth $30.00)

This fragrance isn't what I am usually drawn to, but it ended up being my favorite in the set. It has notes of red berries, patchouli, and datura flower, and it reminded my boyfriend of honeysuckle. The patchouli gives this fragrance a bit of musk to the fruity, floral notes, but then as the fragrance wears on you the musk notes soften up.

So, which perfume did I choose to redeem? Let's talk about the redemption process- I was really curious to see how the process worked since online redemption is a new feature to this Sephora Favorites kit (and one readers have been wanting for a long time!).

The Verdict: Sephora has really been nailing it with their favorites kits, and this one continues their winning streak. I love that they finally offer online redemption as an option- I have been reviewing these types of sets for over three years, and a common theme among readers is they wanted the option to redeem this online. If you like fruity scents, I definitely think you would be able to find at least one winner among these five options. If you already know you don't like fruity scents, might I suggest their Self-Care Sunday sampler instead? There were multiple perfumes I could have happily redeemed my voucher for, but ultimately I'm happy with the YSL one I chose (the bow on it is too cute). Honestly, though, I'm tempted to pick up another one to redeem for that Nest perfume oil. This is one of those sets that would make a great gift, because even if you don't know which specific fragrance the gift-receiver likes, they should be able to find one that fits them inside the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, as of publication, this set is still available!

Value Breakdown: This kit costs $25 + free shipping, and I received $29.13 worth of perfume samples and the eye mask,  plus a voucher to redeem for my choice of travel perfume that ranges in price from $29-$35.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Hi! I came across this post while searching how to make the certificate work. Your screenshots of it saying code doesn’t exist and invalid are what I get and I was wondering what you did to get yours to work. I would have used their chat but when I finally need it, it’s not working. Anyway, any help would be really helpful. Thank you.

I picked this set up too… mostly for the Chloe perfume since that one peaked my interest the most, but sadly that one performed pretty weak on me. In fact, I could barely smell it on me even right after spraying it. I thought I’d go for the Nest fragrance instead, but that one was really weak on me too. 🙁 Since I already own the full size of the YSL, that really only left me with the Giorgio Armani and Floral Street. I already have a decent number of mini bottles & vials of Si (thanks Ulta) so I chose to go with Floral Street’s Wonderland Peony. I like it, but wouldn’t haven’t picked it if the Chloe or Nest were just a wee bit stronger. What I really like about it though was that it lasted all day on me, and it dried down to a fun fruity scent.

I also already used the eye mask that came with it, and liked it a lot. I actually loved that it was thin, which helped it fit & stayed put nicely. I only used it for the 5 minutes it mentioned, and in that short time it didn’t dry down on me. I do prefer longer wearing eye masks, but the serum left behind was enough to spread all around my eye area and it left them feeling pretty nice. 🙂 But I can definitely see how they’d dry out if left on for longer.

Friend, my birthday month is August and my wallet is already crying. What fragrance will you redeem the voucher for?

The review is helpful and I will probably buy the set but let’s talk about the real issue here — 3059 insider points?!?! Girl, you need to start buying some stuff!! 😂

The best point rewards are the higher point rewards!! This is a hill I will die on- I have done the math! There’s an entire highlight saved on my Instagram where I explain why it’s better to save your points and why the $100 gift card for 2500 points isn’t that great of a deal. Back in 2019 I got a First Aid Beauty Reward for 1500 points that came with four full-size items, plus a tote bag and makeup bag. Those are the kind of rewards I like to save for, but they only drop once or twice a month.

Guys what is going on? I literally clicked on a comment THAT YOU HAD POSTED ON YOUR FRONT PAGE that is from this thread and when I get here the comment is not even here!?!?!?! Neither are the 2 other comments that were literally here a few hours ago when I read this review and the comments. Why are they gone?!?!?

I love YSL fragrances! I have most of the permanent collection and a couple of flankers. Mon Paris is one of my favorite late Spring/early Summer scents. I like that these can be redeemed online now, since my closest Sephora is kind of a pain to get to.

I feel like they could have gone harder on this “fruity” curation. Most of these are your average florals.

I did buy this specifically to get the discount on the Nest perfume oil, so I can’t complain.

Ditto for everything!

Shopper’s Drug Mart here in Canada has been doing this for awhile, except you get 10 samples in a kit and you can redeem your certificate for a full size bottle of which one you like which I prefer over a rollerball.

Marion

Sephora does have some perfume kits for full-size bottles, but they are more expensive, and AFAIK you can’t redeem the certificates online yet.

Hi Marion,
Just chiming in that the voucher in the newly released perfume kits are able to be redeemed online as well as in store!

Aidan

The newest kit 2021 New Releases is redeemable online. It has some expensive scents in it too. $68 and the highest retail value is $135!

Melanie

I prefer true fruity scents, but all 9f these seem more floral than fruity, with the exception of the nest. Should have option of Tom ford lost cherry, Tom ford bitter peach, or heretic dirty mango… true fruity perfume picks! I do not like floral at all.

I mean…we all want a $75 perfume for $25 but it’s not gonna happen 😂

Aidan

The Beach set they put out in April had the option of Eau de Soliel Blanc, but it’s only $49. Still waiting for Bitter Peach to be made in a travel size, lol.
