Let's dive in!
Essential Living Silicone Facial Cleansing Device - Listed Value $119
I have a few thoughts on this item that I want to digest a little. Sure, it's a private label sort of deal and the listed value is high. BUT if you were to go over to Foreo and buy something similar, the price would be about the same. This brand just isn't carried in Sephora or Ulta. You could also go on Amazon and find something similar for a lot less. Which makes the pricing feel pretty subjective. What I can tell you is that this little blue thing works just as well as my older Foreo or my PMD device. I love both of those tools even though I would have never paid their retail costs. So, I am happy to see this rechargeable cleansing device, even if the listed value is what I would consider, well, high.
This tool has eight different speeds and a few different textures so you can get a deep pore cleanse without over-scrubbing or scratching your face. I generally recommend only using these with cream or gel cleansers as oil can cause tools like this to wear down faster than is ideal.
Essential Living Reusable Cotton Rounds, set of 15 - Listed Value $15
I am a big fan of reusable cotton rounds and I never mind getting more because I often gift extras to clients or friends. This set of 15 is a blend of super-soft cotton and bamboo fibers and each is washable in a washing machine. They arrived in their own net bag which keeps them together while you wash them. The bag is really handy! If you have ever wondered where missing socks go, these little rounds also are prone to disappearing without it.
Palmetto Derma Clarifying Foaming Cleanser, 4 fl oz - Retail Value $34
The last item this month is a foaming cleanser. Generally, foaming cleansers are more geared towards oily or even combo skin rather than dry, but I tried this one out and found that my face felt soft and not at all dry or tight after washing. Inside is a formula with PCA, cica (hello favorite!), glycerine, and aloe. It is a great option for foamy cleanser lovers who might want something more gentle in their routine.
The Verdict
Essentials Crate was full of three very useful things, but, again, I feel like it was a little lean. Sure, you can spend $100+ on a similar scrubber, but you can also spend as little as $20 if you want to. They all work the same so assigning such a huge value on this one felt a little weird. The cleanser did have a value of $34, which was almost the box cost, but that might not be enough to win over everyone. This is one of those boxes that I really like because everything feels minimal and practical, but I would still like to see either some additional items or something that feels like it has a higher retail value.
