Rent the Runway (RTR) and Tripadvisor Plus have teamed up to make traveling even easier for people: now, travelers don't even need to pack clothes. That's because Rent the Runway's Closet Concierge Service, through the new partnership, will now delivery designer clothing to 300,000 more hotels in the United States.
“As our collective audiences begin to travel IRL once again, we’re focused on delivering Rent the Runway’s Closet in the Cloud to customers in the most seamless capacity possible. Partnering with Tripadvisor enables us to bring our Closet Concierge program to travelers at unparalleled scale while reducing some of the friction often associated with the travel experience,” said Samantha Storch Malloy, director of partnerships at Rent the Runway.
How will it work? Whenever someone books a room through Tripadvisor Plus, they'll get an email offer for the RTR Concierge Service, a discount and instructions about how to send rental times to their hotel. They can select as many rentals as they want. When travelers reach their destination, the clothes will be drycleaned and waiting at the hotel.
Returns will work the same way as they do on all Rent the Runway orders: the traveler will put the clothing in the packaging and use the provided return label to ship the items back. Returns can go through special drop boxes or any of RTR's carrier partners. RTR offers subscription plans and four- and eight- day Reserve rentals.
How much will all of this cost? Tripadvisor Plus membership is $99 a year. With the code RTRPlus, new subscribers can receive $20 off their first year of membership to the RTR Concierge Service. Both new and existing Rent the Runway customers can take 30 percent off RTR’s Reserve rentals when taking advantage of the new partnership.
This is not the first time Rent the Runway has provided designer clothes to hotels. In 2019, they entered into a partnership with W hotels to outfit W Aspen, W South Beach, W Washington D.C. and W Hollywood.
