Dia & Co is a monthly plus-size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia & Co, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes, and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five items that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 25% discount is applied if I chose to keep all five items too!
The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co may be entirely different than mine!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
First Impressions
That Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month now comes as a sleeve.
Enclosed is an awesome message from my stylist, Melinda.! She complimented the pieces that I selected this month and gave some fantastic styling tips too!
There's also an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. My prices aren't listed, so this form is a bit inaccurate. The total would be $201.00. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $135.75! The savings would be $65.25 if I did decide to keep everything! That would be like getting the Lyanna dress and the Lori Floral top for free -- that's pretty amazing!
Now for the fashions!
Lyanna Sleeveless Surplice Dress by Gilli, Size 2x-- Listed Value $35
This retro 90s style dress was selected by my stylist, Melinda. I was concerned it wouldn't fit, but the dress is made from an incredibly stretchy material, so I was able to get it on without issue. I definitely would have worn this back in 7th grade with a white t-shirt underneath, white socks, and my favorite suede black Fila oxfords in hopes of looking like one of Angela Chase's friends on My So-Called Life. I opted to do my own modern-day styling with glasses from Zeeool.com and gold Kira platforms from B.A.I.T footwear. This dress is fantastic for summer weather months, but this piece is versatile enough to wear with black a turtleneck, opaque tights, a faux leather biker jacket, and metallic platform open toe wedges for the fall.
Francesca Short-Sleeve Wrap Top by Socialite, Size 2x-- Listed Value $39
Can we just talk about how sexy this top is? Va-va-voom to the max! This top is sultry, but not over the top sexy. I love how it goes off the shoulders a bit and how the neckline plunges. The fabric has loads of stretch and is buttery soft which is a big bonus. The wrap style is fantastic too, but I prefer this top to be tucked in rather than worn out. It just looks so much better that way! I decided to enhance the hotness of this shirt with the LOVEFOOL skirt from this box, my Gold Kira platforms again, and some extreme Zaddy energy from my Tiny Made Christopher Meloni earrings. This top definitely is ideal for a nighttime date or to go dancing with your friends. Trust me, you will be feeling yourself in this number! Wear this also tucked into your favorite high-waisted jeans, thick knit oversized cardigan, and white Chuck Percell Converse sneakers for something casual, yet spicy!
Rachel Split Midi Skirt in Black by LOVEFOOL, Size 3x — Listed Value $58, Now on Sale for $29
I have been curious about the LOVEFOOL brand for some time, so I had to add this to this month's Dia & Co box. I got a 3x because I am generally bigger in the hips, belly, and behind region. Though I picked my typical size, it was still a bit snug in the belly. I was hoping this skirt would have more stretch to it, but it is rather limited. It is almost a gauze-like material. The fabric certainly is ideal for summer due to how light it is-- easy to wear for strolls on the beach. I am not sure, though, if this will translate well into cooler weather months. I could envision wearing this in early fall with a t-shirt tucked in, a jean jacket, and sneakers. For a saucier look, wear this skirt with fishnets, open-toe platform heels, a crushed velvet crop top, statement earrings, and a faux leather biker jacket for a look that would even make Nancy Downs from The Craft bite her lip.
By chance, did I happen to mention that this skirt has... POCKETS?!
Lori Floral Print Tee in Burgundy/Pink by Meri Skye, Size 2x— Listed Value $29
I love my retro-inspired floral prints, so you know I selected this with the quickness! I opted to grab the purple/pink/burgundy variation of this top since I have a lot of pieces in orange and yellow tones. I appreciate the stretchy t-shirt material on this piece-- it is incredibly easy to wear! The print and the sleeves add a bit more of a formal vibe to an otherwise casual item. This would look cute with a pink or burgundy corduroy mini skirt and booties or black high-waisted pants and a blazer for the office. I did some simple styling with black Kut From The Kloth jeans I reviewed a few months back and comfy black flats.
Catherine Boyfriend Shorts by Kut From The Kloth, Size 22 — Listed Value $69
Speaking of Kut From The Kloth, I got a pair of shorts from them for this month's box as well! I selected them because as we all know-- I am a sucker for all that is animal print! I was very pleased with the fit of the jeans I received a few months back, so I figured why not give it a go with some shorts? I definitely am pleased with my selection. These shorts fit like an absolute dream-- have loads of stretch and have a nice high waist. The plus is these could easily be worn in the fall as well. You might be asking, but how, Nicole? Easy, wear these with opaque black tights, an oversized black sweater or sweatshirt, and boots for an edgy, yet ultra-comfortable look. I opted to show you a casual summer look in these by pairing the shorts with a t-shirt featuring my friend, the fantastic Fay Ludes, mellow yellow Vans sneakers, and my favorite new psychedelic flower power earrings from Femme De Bloom. It just goes to show you can make a pair of shorts look fun in a variety of ways throughout the year!
Verdict
This month's Dia & Co was filled with a diverse group of pieces. You have the sultry skirt and polka dot top, along with cute floral pieces, and a fierce pair of leopard print shorts. I love that a lot of these pieces will work in the cooler months as well. I love all the pieces, but my favorites of the bunch are probably the LOVEFOOL skirt and polka dot top from Socialite-- they are such a winning combination! I also think I will get a good bit of wear from the Lyanna dress before the weather gets colder in the next few weeks. I have to get all my sassy summer looks in before I am full throttle into Spooky Season!
I am quite pleased with my stylist, Melinda, and our collaborations. I feel like she has a good gauge of my style and what appeals to me! At the risk of sounding like a broken record, but I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to provide your stylist with feedback each month. Typing up a quick paragraph along with sending your Pinterest, IG, or direct links from the Dia & Co site is such a help! It enables your stylist to see what you actually wear, how you prefer your clothing to fit, and also what trends and styles you're attracted to; I liken this all to creating a fashion mood board. Yes, you do have the ability to select all five of the items in your style box or even purchase items outright from the site itself-- but I love that element of surprise! I generally try to select three of the five items to ensure I get two mystery pieces. That can be a difficult task because your girl loves to shop! I really have to restrain myself from selecting all five pieces sometimes! I know exactly what fits and cuts I love best on my body. Plus, I am pretty adventurous and will wear tighter items or more experimental pieces, so I can be a tough cookie to style at times! That all being said, I do like leaving it up to someone else to flabbergast me with a dream piece I never knew I wanted! The best part of it all: I don't have to leave my house. No malls, masks, or fitting rooms-- it is all delivered right to my door at my convenience! Not only can I have clothes sent to me, but Dia & Co also offers styling box services for activewear, intimate pieces, and now swimwear too! Plus, did you know you can forgo a styling box altogether? Yes, friends-- you can simply buy items you want directly from the site! The options are endless with Dia & Co! I am rather pleased with what Melinda and I chose this month, but are you as excited as me to see what's in store for next month?
