We cover HelloFresh a lot here on MSA, and there’s good reason for that. It’s our pick for best all-around meal kit, it tops our 2021 list of reader-selected meal subscription boxes, and it’s been reviewed by our readers more than almost any other food box.

Until recently, HelloFresh was the place to turn for subscription meal kits, but the recent launch of HelloFresh Market has expanded the company's offerings. Subscribers can now shop for a variety of additional items to add on their weekly meal deliveries. HelloFresh is now a one-stop-shop for all kinds of marketplace needs, and we thought it might be helpful to showcase how HelloFresh Market works and what it's all about.

What is HelloFresh Market?

HelloFresh Market goes above and beyond traditional meal kits to offer breakfast items, desserts, sides, and heat-and-eat meals, as well as grocery staples like fresh produce, spices, snacks, proteins, coffee, and more. Items can be added on to every order, and there are a number of different ways to utilize the marketplace offerings. Want to add an additional side dish to one of your meal kit selections? You can pick up a side of cheesy broccoli or a salad to pad out the meal. Just like HelloFresh's meal kits, many of the sides include all the fresh ingredients you need to make the dish yourself at home and an easy recipe to help ensure your food comes out just right. Craving something sweet? You'll find hot lava cake and cheesecake in the marketplace, and additional meal solutions are available for lunch and breakfast. You can even pick up a pizza if you need an extra quick and easy dinner option.

What kinds of products can I buy on HelloFresh Market?

HelloFresh Market specializes in a wide variety of add-ons that are great for expanding your weekly dinner kit delivery service into a one-box-fits-all dining solution. You can pick up breakfast items like baked goods, egg bites, and oatmeal, or add lunches, brunches, desserts, and sides into your box. If you enjoy cooking "off recipe" a few nights a week, you can add proteins, veggies, and meal starters like hot honey, spice packs, Tex-Mex paste, and specialty butter to help inspire new creations in the kitchen. Expecting company? You can even pick up everything you need to put together a charcuterie board.

What brands will I find in the HelloFresh Market?

According to SuperMarketsNews.com, "the Market features partnerships with a growing list of high-quality purveyors like Epicurean Butter, Pillsbury, Intelligentsia Coffee, Annie’s, Vive Wellness Shots and more to offer a rotating assortment of new options." We have it on good authority that brands like Sargento and skinnydipped will also be added soon. You can expect to find a few familiar brands lining the virtual shelves of HelloFresh Market, but don't expect to see all of your local grocery store favorites available for sale. The marketplace is highly curated, so you won't find the same variety of products and brands. Still, if you're looking for lunch options, soups, desserts, or snacks, you'll likely find a handful of enticing options available to suit your needs.

Is HelloFresh Market like a virtual grocery store?

Yes and no. HelloFresh Market offers additional flexibility for HelloFresh subscribers and can certainly help you skip a weekly trip to the grocery store. You can stock up on additional meal bundles, pick up some breakfast and lunch items, and even fill your online cart with grocery store basics that you can use to create recipes of your own design; however, you won't find the same selection of goods, and there are some food categories that are not available. For example, breads, grains, pastas, cheeses, and pantry essentials are not sold in HelloFresh Market.

Can I buy meals in the HelloFresh Market?

Yes! HelloFresh Market is a great way to pick up additional dinner options or snag easy meal solutions for other meals. From Annie's bake-at-home cinnamon rolls to New England clam chowder, pizza, mac & cheese, or some egg bites, there are plenty of additional items and bundles available to help keep stomach grumbling at bay from morning into night.
