FaceTory is a monthly beauty box that's perfect for people interested in the Korean sheet mask facial trend. The company aims to provide its members with the latest cult-favorite products, essences, and ingredients.

This is a review of the 7 Lux subscription level ($19.90 per month + free U.S. shipping), which includes 7 sheet masks with slightly higher-functioning formulations (think hydrogels and other more sophisticated ingredients).

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

The sheet masks come packaged in a cheerful yellow bubble mailer- my eyes definitely enjoyed the bright colors of the packaging and the sheet masks inside. To me, sheet masks are supposed to be fun, and I think Facetory does a good job with their branding to keep things lighthearted and joyful- the outside packaging saying "Woo Hoo!" is exactly how I feel when my subscription box is delivered to me. The subscription also comes with an info sheet detailing the products inside so you can learn a little more about the masks you're receiving. Now let's dive into them.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Glowiest Youthful Glow Mangosteen Mask and Peachy Glow Hydrating Mask Duo – Retail Value $6

These are two sheet masks that come attached together, I found that to be a fun novelty. The purple mask is designed to help your skin glow, and the blue mask is for hydration. I found the ingredients lists to be largely similar with the exception of a few ingredients, and both were enjoyable to wear. Honestly, I couldn't really tell a difference in performance between the two, but I like how the mask material was super thin which resulted in great-fitting sheet masks.

Meditime Jeju Deumppook Tumeric Mask – Retail Value $3

This sheet mask is so juicy- this is definitely the kind of mask where essence may drip down your neck. That doesn't bother me, but I could see how some people wouldn't love it. The mask is formulated with a high concentration of turmeric extract, which is great for fighting inflammation while also providing a boost of antioxidants. I love how well this mask fits my face, too- it is one of the closest I've come to having a perfect fit. If you're like me and extra juicy sheet masks don't bother you, this mask was superb. If you don't enjoy a very wet sheet mask experience, this may not be for you (and that's okay too!).

JM Solution Active Bird’s Nest Moisture Mask – Retail Value $2

I love JM Solution masks, and I'm pretty sure I have tried this one in particular before from a different subscription box. Don't let that affordable price tag fool you- this mask is fantastic. If you have dry skin like me and love it when a sheet mask acts like a tall drink of water for your skin, this does a perfect job (without any excess serum dripping down your neck). The star ingredient in this hydrating mask is bird's nest extract, which is a prized ingredient in traditional medicine that boosts your skin's moisture retention. Along with that, the formula has multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, and mugwort extract. The mask material is very soft, and it fit my face really well without sliding out of place the way some masks tend to do.

Petitfee Agave Cooling Hydrogel Face Mask – Retail Value $2

This is another mask I have tried previously thanks to a different subscription box, and I was so stoked to see it inside the box- I love hydrogel face masks and $2 is an awesome price for a good one. This is made with both agave and blueberry extract to give your skin a boost of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory goodness, and that combined with the cooling texture of the hydrogel makes for a sheet mask that is a delight to use on sunburned skin or skin that may be dealing with an acne breakout. Hydrogel masks are notorious for being extra slippery, so I love how this mask came in two parts so I could get the best fit for my face.

Dr. Jart Dermask Ultra Jet Porecting Solution Mask - Retail Value $9

This mask was such a pleasant surprise- it's a minimal mess bubbling sheet mask! I've used bubbling sheet masks before, but they can be a little messy and require you to wash off any residue. With this mask you apply it, it bubbles and foams a bit while still staying on your face, and after about 20 minutes you remove the mask and massage in any extra serum. This was a fun mask to use, and even though it is designed for pores and oiliness (neither of which are concerns for my skin) this didn't dry out my face. I would use this mask again in a heartbeat, especially if my skin was feeling congested.

MedB Day 1 Honey Mask Pack - Retail Value $2

I love, love, love honey in my masks- it's one of my favorite ingredients! Honey is the only real ingredient of note in this sheet mask, and I do wish it had a little something extra like propolis or even hyaluronic acid. This mask had a more basic performance compared to some of the other masks in the box, but it still left my skin feeling hydrated and soft.

FaceTory AM Spot Fighter Blemish Patches, 78 ct – Retail Value $11.95

Pimple patches help me to not pick at my face (and thus, my acne usually heals more quickly), but I love when they have a little something added to the hydrocolloid. These have tea tree oil, tea tree extract, and centella asiatica (which is actually one of my favorite skincare products!). All of those ingredients work to provide inflammation and redness relief so your skin can heal, while the hydrocolloid goes to work absorbing any goo that may be in your pimple. I like that this set came with two different-sized patches, too.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $19.90 + free US shipping

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $2.84. Everything in the box added up to $35.95, which was $15 more than the cost of the subscription. That's obviously not a crazy high value, but it is still worth it to me when sheet masks are so low cost (compared to other skincare products) to begin with.

Key Takeaways

This was my second month with a Facetory subscription, and while I liked last month's box I liked this month even more. All of the masks worked for my skin to leave me hydrated and a little more glowy, and I am always happy to receive the extremely practical pimple patches as my skincare bonus this month. I was excited to see some masks I have tried and loved before in the box, and the fun experience I had with the Dr. Jart mask was a delight. With a sheet mask subscription like this, you're really paying for a slight discount and a great curation. If you use sheet masks at least twice a week (or even more frequently, if you're like me), then this is a subscription worth checking out.
