Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $13 per month, you get five full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Included is a product card that lists the products in your Glam Bag and their retail value.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's theme is "Pretty Wicked." I love this bag. It's so wonderfully festive, in a fun vampy way with a creative pop of color. Instead of your typical vampire seductress red, we have this playful neon green, and the detailing of the little lipstick tube on the hardware really drives the concept home.

Now, on to the items!

THEORIE Charcoal Bamboo Detoxifying Body Scrub, 45 ml -  Estimated Retail Value $3.23

There’s nothing I love more than a good body scrub that leaves my skin feeling fresh, brand new, and baby-soft. This product smells amazing and has a wonderful natural-feeling exfoliant, fine pumice, that works remarkably well to slough off my dead skin without being too harsh or scratchy. It didn’t leave behind any grainy residue nor did it make my skin feel excessively dry or tight. The texture is so smooth and the product spreads easily. Afterward, my skin felt so refreshed and soft.

THIS WORKS In Transit, No Traces, 12 pads -  Estimated Retail Value $5.40

The makeup removing pads are perfect for on-the-go. They’re very gentle and effective, with a light natural scent. I was very easily able to remove all traces of eye makeup with a few gentle swipes of the pad across my lid; even my more stubborn eyeliner. I love keeping a travel size of makeup removing pads like these in my bag because sometimes after a long day I want to remove my makeup in transit and not have to wait until I get home — which was very easy to do with this product. They left my skin feeling refreshed and clean but not dry. Another thing I really enjoyed about this particular product is that the circular pads stay super moist in the packet, up to the last one. A lot of times products like these dry out very quickly, and by the time I get to the last one, I might as well be holding a cotton round.

BASIC BEAUTY Lip Gloss in Literally, 3.2 g - Retail Value $15

The texture of this gloss is something different. The product feels super creamy for a gloss and what I would describe as a soft, and almost silicone-like texture, against my lips. It’s a very sheer, lightly shimmered pink, which I don’t mind at all. I tend to prefer sheer and shimmery as opposed to heavy and opaque. This gloss deposits a good amount of shine on my lips that last for a good period of time. It feels wonderfully moisturizing on my dry lips. I would say, it’s a little bit sticky but not sticky enough to deter me from using it. What I really like is the neutral color and the scrumptious vanilla scent. As an added bonus, the brand is Black-owned, female-founded, and donates to charity. I’m all about diverse boss babes who give back, so I would definitely repurchase this product and potentially more in support of a good cause.

Here is a swatch of the BASIC BEAUTY Lip Gloss in Literally.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Mini DIPBROW Gel in Dark Brown, 1.1 g - Estimated Retail Value $4.00

It’s all about the brow for me. I love a big, bold brow that draws attention and makes me look awake and alive when I’m not really feeling it. Colored brow gels are the best of both worlds. This product not only gives your brows a quick and easy natural tint but also, the gel is waterproof and keeps any unruly hairs in place with a reliable grip but without the crunchy hold of some similar products. The spoolie has a cone-shaped design to it, making precise application a breeze. This is perfect for when I’d rather skip penciling in my brows but still want to give them some shape and definition for a natural everyday look. I have to say, some other eyebrow products I’ve tried in the past have started to melt off before the end of the day, especially during the summer. But this gel, once dried, seems to stay put; even beyond a 12-hour workday, in my experience.

SUR.MEDIC+ Perfection 100 All In One Facial Eye Cream, 15 ml - Estimated Retail Value $14.57

I absolutely love the consistency of this eye cream. A lot of eye creams are very heavy and pasty, which I understand since they’re designed for optimal hydration. But I find that I prefer products with a more gel-based, almost silicone feel, and this product checks all those boxes for me. It has a lovely light citrus scent that is not overpowering and fades very quickly, and it leaves my under-eyes feeling moisturized and soft and looking brighter. I like the delicate glow this product leaves behind; it’s subtle and flattering, due to the 24-karat gold flakes in the product’s formula, which is different and something I’ve never seen in an eye cream before. I’m a huge fan of K-beauty. I find their products to be effective and most tend to work well for my skin.

Verdict

This was a really great Ipsy Glam Bag for me. I enjoyed and will get good use out of every single product from this month. I really love the consistency of the Sur.Medic+ eye cream and the glow it gives my under-eyes is just icing on the cake. Speaking of cake, the Basic Beauty lip gloss has such a satisfyingly delicious scent, and I’m a huge fan of the natural sheer shimmery shade — not to mention the soft, creamy texture that leaves my lips feeling marvelously hydrated. The Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW is a wonderful staple product from a brand that I love in a shade that works perfectly for me. I also was thrilled to receive thisworks makeup removing pads in such a convenient travel-size package. They’re effective and gentle in removing my makeup, as well as being super compact. The THEORIE body scrub is another product that I truly enjoyed and will make good use of. That’s five out of five products; I’d call that a home run. To top it off, the makeup bag this month was absolutely adorable and perfectly on theme for Halloween. Overall, I have to say, this is one of my favorite Ipsy bags ever.
