Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, hair care, and self-care, but did you know they also frequently release curated limited edition sets? They recently released a curated perfume set that comes with thirteen perfume samples and a voucher to redeem for a full-size bottle in your favorite scent. The Sephora Favorites: Bestellers Perfume Sampler Set is available for $68 and promises a value of $118.
FYI – this kit is still available for purchase (while stock lasts)!

First Impressions
This set comes packaged in a red and pink striped box with a flip-top lid that's sturdy enough to be repurposed if you choose to do so. When you open the box you see a big info sheet with instructions on how to have your at-home fragrance experience with tips on comparing the scents, and on the other side of that sheet is a list of the perfumes, their scent notes, the category they fall in, and space to write down your thoughts as you try them out. The perfume vials themselves are nestled safely into the plastic liner inside the box, and there was even a slot for the voucher to be in. That voucher redeems for the full-size bottle of your choice out of the scents in this set. Read on to see which perfume I chose!
Don't forget that with every Sephora purchase you can choose two free samples, and all purchases over $25 qualify for various gifts with purchase- I chose to use a GWP code that got me a mini of the new Herbivore Aquarius cream, along with foil samples from amika and topicals. As someone who shops at Sephora more often than they should, I appreciate that Sephora has been pretty reliable lately with the foil samples that I pick actually being the samples that I get, too.
The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Sephora
Burberry Her London Dream Eau de Parfum, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $6.08
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $76
This was a really pleasant perfume, and it honestly was a strong contender for being the full-sized bottle I redeemed my voucher for. It has really pleasant top notes of lemon and ginger with a heart of peony and rose, and the overall scent is very light and fresh. I already own the original Burberry Her, and I was surprised at how different Her London Dream is from the original.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette, 0.02 oz - Estimated Value $2.32
Certificate redeems for the 1.6 oz Eau de Toilette Spray that retails for $85
I got a bottle of Light Blue when I was a senior in high school, and I remember thinking it was the best smelling perfume my nose had ever smelled. I still enjoy the fragrance, but it isn't one I feel the need to have stocked on my vanity. It has scent notes of cedar, green apple, bamboo, jasmine, and rose, and the overall effect is pleasant without being overpowering. This is another fragrance I would describe as fresh, but it has more warmth to it than Her London Dream.
Armani Beauty My Way Eau de Parfum, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $3.48
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $76
I know this is a very popular perfume, but something about it just made me wrinkle my nose when I applied it. The scent has top notes of bergamot and orange blossom, a heart of tuberose and jasmine, and a base of white musk, cedarwood, and vanilla. I like those components separately in other fragrances, but while My Way leaves a lasting mark when you wear it, it wasn't made for me.
Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum For Her, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $6.89
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $80
Without smelling any of the perfumes and going by brand, packaging, and reputation alone, I really thought Gucci Bloom would be the perfume I chose to redeem my voucher for. This is a classic floral scent with notes of tuberose and jasmine, and it also has scent notes from a color-changing vine called Rangoon Creeper. Overall while I found the fragrance to be very pretty (and probably a safe blind buy if you like a classic floral perfume), I didn't find it to be very unique.
Marc Jacobs Fragrances Perfect Eau de Parfum, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $2.48
Certificate redeems for the 1.6 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $99
Marc Jacobs really did something with their perfect perfume, and it has some scent notes that you don't typically see. The fragrance opens up with top notes of rhubarb and daffodil, has a heart of almond milk, and base notes of cedarwood and cashmeran. The overall effect is a lovely sweet floral scent that is a bit unique thanks to (what I assume) the almond milk heart. Marc Jacobs describes this as unconventional yet harmonious, and I think that is very spot on.
Nest New York Wild Poppy Eau de Parfum, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $5.25
Certificate redeems for the 1.7 Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $76
I'm really partial to Nest fragrances, and I have a bit of nostalgia associated with the brand because I bought myself a bottle of their Black Tulip perfume with the first paycheck I got working as a law clerk in law school. Wild Poppy has notes of rose, Himalayan jasmine, and pear, and this is a scent that is fruity-floral in the best way. In particular, I could really pick up the pear notes which makes this a bit more complex to me than your standard floral fragrance, and the pear paired really nicely with the rose-forward heart.
Prada CANDY Eau de Parfum, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $3.60
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $76
As one would expect with a perfume named candy, this is a sweet gourmand fragrance with notes of caramel, iris, and white musk. While it is sweet, it still manages to be sophisticated, and I thought this was a solid performer for those who lean towards gourmand fragrances instead of florals. Those are my thoughts on this, at least- when I asked my boyfriend what he thought of the perfume on me, he said I smelled like a hotel.
Sol de Janeiro SOL Cheirosa ’62 Eau de Parfum, 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $3.25
Certificate redeems for the 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $78
This was another strong contender for what perfume I should redeem my voucher for! If you've ever tried the brand's signature Bum Bum Cream, this has those same notes of salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla, but those scent notes have been elevated into a more sophisticated fragrance thanks to the addition of jasmine. I do think this is one of those perfumes that fall into the "love it or hate it" category, but if you're into sweet gourmand scents, love vanilla, or already use the body cream from this product line, I think you'll really like this.
TOCCA Florence Eau de Parfum, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $4.05
Certificate redeems for the 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $76
This Parisian-inspired fragrance is a classic floral scent with notes of gardenia and bergamot, and it's rounded out nicely with the soft, sweet notes of pear. This combined with my experience trying Wild Poppy led me to learn that I really just enjoy pear scent notes in perfume. This is a scent that isn't overpowering, but it still smells very lovely and pretty.
Valentino Voce Viva Eau de Parfum, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $3
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $75
I've been curious about this perfume, so I was excited to try it out. It falls into the "warm floral" category and combines orange blossom, gardenia, Italian bergamot, and mandarin together in a vanilla and crystal moss base. This was a solid perfume for me, but it wasn't the one I was looking for.
Versace Bright Crystal Eau de Toilette, 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $1.45
Certificate redeems for the 1.7 oz Eau de Toilette Spray that retails for $82
This is another floral fragrance that I found pleasantly fresh. It has top notes of yuzu and pomegranate, a heart of peony, magnolia, and lotus flower, and a base of musk and amber. I appreciate the use of yuzu and pomegranate- I love when a fragrance has some unique scent notes. While this is definitely a floral perfume, the touch that the fruits give it makes this a lovely everyday scent.
Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $3.40
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $85
This perfume has been around for a while, so this isn’t the first time I’ve smelled it. Described as a warm gourmand scent, this features key notes of jasmine, orange blossom, and patchouli. I definitely would describe this as more of a floral than gourmand – my nose picks up the flowery notes of jasmine and rose the most (and maybe even slight soapiness?), and those notes are rounded out by a warmth that comes from the patchouli and vanilla bean. When I asked my boyfriend what he thought about this fragrance, he said he could pick up on the flowery vibes but other than that it was a standard floral-scented women's perfume.
Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum, 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $3.60
Certificate redeems for the 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray that retails for $78
This is a highly recommended perfume. A lot of the people I interact with on Instagram said this was a ~sexy~ perfume, and I believe that's definitely the vibe that YSL was going for but honestly, I don't get it. Allegedly this has scent notes of black coffee, vanilla, and white flowers, but I don't really pick up any coffee notes- both me and my boyfriend agreed that this was a floral-forward fragrance (the exact words he used were "sweet flowers"). This definitely has a spice to it, but I don't know if that translates to sexy. After a while, the floral notes fade away to a pleasant vanilla, but overall this wasn't the perfume for me.
Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $68
Cost Breakdown: This kit costs $68 + free shipping, and I received $48.85 worth of perfume samples and a voucher to redeem for a bottle of full-size perfume of my choice that ranges in price from $75-$99. No matter what, you save at least $7 off the perfume you choose (and can save up to $31, not including the additional value of all of the perfume samples).
Sephora promised a value of $118 for this set, and by my math the lowest possible value for this set is $123.85 (the highest is $147.85), so Sephora definitely hit their mark!

Key Takeaways
My first thing to note- all of these perfumes were really nice. While not every single fragrance was for me, perfumes can be very personal, especially because they interact with your body chemistry and can smell a bit different on everyone. One of the things I love about this set is how it features bestsellers from Sephora, but it covers a wide array of scent types.
I didn't just redeem my voucher for the Marc Jacobs Perfect because it has the largest retail values out of all the perfumes in the set you can redeem your voucher for, but that doesn't hurt, either (and the full-size bottle packaging is so fun!). Before this set, this perfume was never even on my radar, but now I am kind of obsessed with it.
This perfume sampler set is the type of product that would make a great gift for someone in your life (especially if they're the type of person to mix up the fragrance they're wearing based on the season or their mood) because they will be able to choose which full-size bottle they want to redeem for, but it's still something you can wrap up and present in a way gift cards usually can't be.
I can't speak for everyone, but I know I have memories associated with all of my full-size perfume bottles- if someone got me this kit I would find it thoughtful and would most likely think of them every time I reached for it. Plus, there's no denying this is an awesome value- the samples alone add up to almost $50, and every full-size bottle retails for more than the cost of this kit. Plus, with the Sephora VIB sale coming in early November, you have the chance to save even more.
Other Things You Should Know
Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, this set is still available for purchase while stocks last!
Can the voucher be redeemed online? Yes! Sephora recently changed its voucher program to allow for in-store or online redemption. You can't redeem this at a Sephora inside JCPenney store, Kohl’s store, or Sephora Canada store, so the ability to redeem online is a great option for people who don't have a local Sephora but still want to take advantage of it (and when you do you get to add your two free samples to your order, even if you're not buying anything else).
Is it hard to redeem the voucher? No, but sometimes you have to enter the code a few times when there are letters that could be mistaken for numbers and vice versa. Your voucher has two barcodes at the bottom- you want to use the "certificate promo barcode" number and enter it in the space to enter coupons.
Is shipping free? Shipping is free on all orders over $50 and costs $6.50 for orders under $50 (though since the pandemic started you can usually find a free shipping coupon for smaller orders that will stack with other coupon codes)
