ShoeDazzle Plus: White Combat Boots & Weekender Bag
Zahari Lace Up Bootie in White, Size 9.5-- Retail Value $62.95
I spotted these boots and they made me think of my fellow ginger friend (though she isn't a bottle ginger like moi), Shannon. She always pairs up her white boots with cute little vintage shift dresses and skirts, blazers, and berets. She always looks so good in them and I felt compelled to give these a whirl-- why not, right? I am always leery of buying boots that go up past my ankles because these calves are THICC. I remember the constant boot frustration dating back to even my high school days. I could not find boots that weren't tight in that area even when I was significantly smaller than I am now. I rarely luck out and find the perfect fit. Imagine my surprise that ShoeDazzle delivered on these boots! I am blown away! Not only did these fit, but I had room and didn't feel stuffed in! I am ecstatic, yinz! Not only that, but the soles feel like almost a memory foam material. I am incredibly impressed! I love that these have a holder for the laces on the back-- how neat is that detail? I am just gobsmacked by how pleased I am with the quality, fit, and style of these boots. I opted to style them with a floral romper from an upcoming Stitch Fix review and my favorite oversized white flower power earrings! These boots will look fantastic in the fall and winter months combined with black opaque tights, a striped sweater dress, and a faux fur coat or skinny leg jeans, a black pussy-bow blouse, and a faux leather biker jacket. Honestly, the looks will be endless and these can easily be worn year-round to boot (see what I did there?)!
Garment Weekender Bag in Black— Retail Value $86.95
I am always on the hunt for a great weekender bag, but this one was too unique to pass up! This particular weekender is able to be used as a garment bag as well. You simply unzip the entire bag and it opens up like so. The material is a soft pleather material. A piece like this one would be excellent as a carry-on when flying or as your primary bag for a two-day road trip. It can fit a lot and has some handy outdoor pockets as well. My boyfriend, who took my pics this month, was envious and asked if I could find him one as well. I cannot blame him-- it is so cool! Sadly, this particular weekender bag has been sold out on the site, but ShoeDazzle has some other options available here!
Verdict
Even though the selections this month didn't feature any clothing items, I am extremely pleased with what I received. The white boots are far and away my favorite item I received in this review-- maybe even for the month period! I am incredibly excited because these fit well on larger calves! I had no issues loosening the laces and zipping these boots on-- it just makes my heart sing! This is a high note for ShoeDazzle too since, sad to say, they disappoint me rather frequently. It is kind of ironic that I couldn't find a plus-size clothing article to review for yinz, but I found a non-plus size item that fit me perfectly. Don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic but simultaneously frustrated. ShoeDazzle's size options are not inclusive. Going up to a size 3x is good, but not good enough. I would say they need to offer up to a 6x, but truth be told that is unlikely considering they only have two pages of clothing options for sizes 1x through 3x. TWO PAGES, MY BODACIOUS BABES! Talk about leaving money on the table! They are barely tossing morsels to the smaller plus sizes, so I am skeptical they will broaden their size range even further at this point. I would love to see them focus on offering even a fraction of the options they do for their straight sizes for their larger customers. I often commend them on their phenomenal VIP programs-- their frequent sales and rewards program is amazing! I get so many killer deals from them! However, what good does that do me if I can't find my size in pieces I like? Even though I loved the items I received this month, I will not stop airing this grievance on the limited options they offer in plus sizes as well as the size range itself. Do better, ShoeDazzle. I always feel like the bad guy harping on you so much, but I know you can provide an even better experience for your customers. You got this! Fingers crossed next month's selections are as wonderful as this month's knockout pieces!
