First Impressions
I was so excited about this Fitglow Beauty collaboration. I've been eyeing the brand ever since one of my favorite Instagram accounts started posting about them, so this felt like a timely collab to me. My products came packaged in a small Beauty Heroes-branded box, and the lip serums were tied with a ribbon that made them feel more special. I was excited to see if the products were worth the hype- let's dive in.
The Products
Fitglow Beauty Lip Colour Serum in Beam, 10g - Retail Value $42
The Lip Colour serums from Fitglow beauty are designed to nourish and treat your lips, while also giving your lips a wash of color. The shade Beam doesn't actually give you color, but it does give you sparkle. This is like the adult, sophisticated version of the sparkly lip gloss I loved as a teenager- without being sticky or goopy. I think the color is really, really pretty and I love it on minimal (or no) makeup days. The formula has pomegranate sterols, vegan collagen, and antioxidants to keep your lips healthy while also visibly smoothing fine lines. I can't speak about the long-term benefits, but I have really been enjoying this so far.
Here I am with the shade Beam on my lips.
Fitglow Beauty Lip Color Serum in Jam, 10g - Retail Value $42
This lip serum contains that same great formula that Beam does to treat your lips while helping them to look their best, but Jam contains a deep berry pigment as well. What I liked about this shade is that while it looks scary dark in the packaging, it actually applies sheerly to a much more wearable color for me. And, if I want to amp up the pigment, the color is buildable based on the layers I apply. I don't personally feel like I can wear this shade on a no-makeup day, but I wore it when I was wearing an eggplant-colored sweater to work, and I thought the colors complimented each other.
Here I am with one coat of Jam, then with two coats.
Fitglow Beauty Night Lip Serum, 10 g- Retail Value $48
The first time I heard about this product, my mind was blown. A lip gloss? That you wear to bed? All I could think about was super thick goop coating my lips and then it getting all over my pillows. Luckily, that was nothing like how my actual experience went. This is thick the way a lip gloss is, but not overly so. It's not sticky, and since I go to bed sleeping on my back and wake up on my side, my lips absorb all of the good stuff before it could transfer. This is formulated with some fantastic ingredients for your lips: pomegranate sterols increase moisture and help your lips to feel smooth, ceramides and collagen work to give you full, plump lips, and shea butter and cocoa butter work to protect your lips and visibly smooth fine lines. When I go to bed with this on, I wake up to lips that don't feel cracked or dry, and I also love the shine this gives my lips so I wear it during the day, as well.
Here I am with Night on my lips. I definitely think it makes my lips look fuller!
Lastly, here are swatches of all of the shades on my arm. From top to bottom we have Night, Beam, and then two swatches of Jam; I was trying to show how the color can build.
Verdict
This was my first time experiencing anything from Beauty Heroes, and I really was delighted by the experience. I love that this collaboration featured a brand I had already been interested in trying, and the performance of the products did not disappoint. These lip serums work to treat my lips and make them healthier, and they make my lips pretty while doing it. This is a brand that doesn't really go on super sale, so I love that this limited edition set offers you savings of more than 40%. Interested in trying this but don't love the colors I received? Beauty Heroes has three different colorways currently available. All sets come with the night treatment and two colors, but there is some difference between the colors. Lastly, I love that the lip serums come in their original packaging. You can easily break this box up and keep a shade or two for yourself while using the other serums as holiday presents. Personally, I think my mom would really enjoy trying out the Night serum- she is always trying to steal my lip products, so I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually ended up on her vanity instead of mine.
