Dia & Co is a monthly plus-size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia & Co, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes, and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five items that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 25% discount is applied if I chose to keep all five items too!
The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co may be entirely different than mine!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
First Impressions
That Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month now comes as a sleeve.
Enclosed is an awesome message from my stylist, Melinda.! She complimented the pieces that I selected this month and gave some fantastic styling tips too!
There's also an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. My prices aren't listed, so this form is a bit inaccurate. The total would be $265.00. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $203.75! The savings would be $61.25 if I did decide to keep everything! That would be like getting the Girl Collective skort for free -- that's pretty fantastic!
Now for the fashions!
Rhea Crop Top by LOVEFOOL, Size 3x-- Listed Value $44, On Sale for $30.80
I had been eyeballing this top in green and black alike, so I was excited to give it a go this month! I love the delicate, yet intricate lace details on the neckline, arms, and waist. It adds such a romantic touch. The material on the top itself is ribbed with stretch. This could be worn open as a cardigan or layered over a slip dress. I love it buttoned up and paired with the Girlfriend Collective skort I picked out as well. This would look equally awesome with high-waisted jeans, sneakers, and an oversized cardigan for chillier fall days! This is such a fantastic piece one can wear comfortably all year; I am loving the versatility of this top!
Christina High Rise Skort by Girlfriend Collective, Size XXXL-- Listed Value $58
This is another item I selected this month that I had been looking at for some time. I pulled the trigger and scooped this skort up-- it was too good not to! I would have loved to get the matching Sports bra top, but I was pleased to play with the styling and wear this less as an activewear piece, but as an everyday clothing item. I appreciate the coverage the skort gives, but I still found this a bit too short and tight to wear without some additional coverage. It is all about one another's comfort levels in fashion, right? I styled this gorgeous citrine skirt with the black LOVEFOOL top, Elvira earrings from Dreaming of Johnny, and my new favorite white boots from my most recent ShoeDazzle review. I would also love to wear this with a striped sweater or a black turtleneck to bring some Fran Fine vibes to this awesome fall look!
Kathryn Roll Sleeve Blouse by Premise, Size 3x — Listed Value $35, Now on Sale for $29
You might be new to my reviews, but I am a fiend for all that is animal print, especially leopard. I have a ton of animal print pieces, but I never tire of trying different variations. The fabric of this top has limited stretch, but I love the classic cut and rolled button sleeves. I think the top could be a bit overwhelming with the sleeves entirely down and like that rolled-up look. I paired the blouse with the jeans that my stylist Melinda selected for me and my jellies because the weather was still pretty mild. This top would look phenomenal with a black mini skirt, tights, ankle booties, and a faux leather biker jacket. I also like the idea of wearing it with the skirt, tights, and booties but instead of the jacket, wear it with a sweater vest! Don't be afraid to do some pattern clashing with a piece like this too and wear it along with a plaid or polka dot print item as well. In warmer weather, pair this with chartreuse wide-legged trousers and sandals for a chic, yet kitschy and adventurous look!
Donna High Rise Skinny Jean in Meidum Wash by STS Blue, Size 22— Listed Value $55
My favorite kind of jeans are skinny leg style with a high waist. I am talking a waist that is so high it almost hits my chest. I am not exaggerating-- I need the coverage for my booty and my belly alike! I am pushing forty and am resentful of the talk of low-waisted jeans making a return. I lived through the agony of it all in the early 00s and I refuse to again, friends! That all being said, these STS jeans definitely had a nice high waist, but I am ridiculous and would have preferred it to be even higher. The rinse is a fantastic dark blue and they have loads of stretch. I do think I could have sized up-- these were a bit snugger than I would like. These jeans are perfect for everything from a sweater to your favorite band t-shirt to a button-down blouse and blazer combo. I did simple styling with the Premise blouse included in this month's review, my go-to jellies, and some Guy Fieri earrings from Boogie Bee.
Kayley Abstract Print Sheath Dress by Sandra Darren, Size 2x — Listed Value $79
This is a dress my stylist, Melinda, selected for me. In most scenarios, I feel like Melinda and I are on the same page. I was not feeling this dress, though ironically my father and cousin both liked the dress. I can see why my stylist selected it for me-- bold print and ice cream shop colors are generally up my alley. I think what bugged me was the sleeves mainly. That open slit and tie just were too much for me with the print. I know, you are probably sitting there reading this thinking, "Something was TOO MUCH for Nicole!?" Yes, it occasionally does even happen for me, the woman once referenced by a past roommate as "The Queen of Tacky!" I don't dislike the dress entirely, it just isn't for me. I opted to style the dress with my new favorite boots from ShoeDazzle, black opaque tights, and earrings from Ziggy Pop Shop. This could look fantastic with pointy-toe flats and a white or baby pink biker jacket or simply with a pair of black heels at the office.
Verdict
This month's Dia & Co was filled with some fun pieces. I love that many of the pieces can be worn all year round. The only item I would say isn't terribly fall appropriate would be the Sandra Darren dress. The color palette makes me think more of spring and summer. My favorite items from this month's box were items I selected: the Girl Collective skort and LOVEFOOL top. I appreciate both pieces together and styled with other items as well.
This month, I opted to select three of the five items. I enjoy collaborating with my stylist, Melinda, and seeing what she sends my way. The pieces she sent were overall awesome. At the risk of being redundant, I simply cannot emphasize enough how important it is to provide your stylist with feedback each month. Typing up a quick paragraph along with sending your Pinterest, IG, or direct links from the Dia & Co site truly helps your stylist. It allows them to have a window to what you actually wear in your everyday life, your fit preferences, and what styles and trends you gravitate towards. Yes, you do have the ability to select all five of the items in your style box or even purchase items outright from the site itself-- but I love that element of surprise! I really have to restrain myself from selecting all five pieces -- your girl loves to shop! I know what styles work best and make me feel the most comfortable, so shopping isn't a brutal task for me, aside from my very distinct tastes. Though I love to buy for myself, I love handing over the reins to someone else to be surprised! It can be fun to receive something random, especially during these times in the pandemic. Even though I am vaccinated and mask up, I don't frequent the malls too often. Having fantastic fashions delivered right to my door is such a convenience! Not only can I have clothes sent to me, but Dia & Co also offers styling box services for activewear, intimate pieces, and now swimwear too! Plus, did you know you can forgo a styling box altogether? Yes, friends-- you can simply buy items you want directly from the site! You are able to accrue points from purchases from your box to buy directly from the Dia & Co site as well! I can't suggest Dia & Co and all their options to enjoy their services enough! Are you excited as I am to see what Melinda sends my way next month?
