What's Inside The Box
Josephine Cosmetics Lip/Power: The Bold Matte Liquid Lipstick in Tiphaine, 6 g - Retail Value $30
Color me impressed… I have a love/hate relationship with liquid lipsticks. They always have such a wonderful vibrant color but never stay put on my mouth. I was at a Halloween party in Beverly Hills, dressed as a vampire slayer, rockin’ a deep purple liquid lip… After ten minutes, I somehow had lipstick smudges on my cheek, above my lip, and on the sides of my nose. So, I was considerably impressed with how little transfer there was with this liquid lip. The color is bold and vibrant and made me feel like a sultry video vixen. I also really enjoyed the product’s texture. It has a creamy but gel-like consistency that dries down very quickly and stays in place and bright for hours. The packaging is a sophisticated rectangular ombre bottle, but the applicator is the real star here. It’s a teardrop-shaped applicator, with a groove running down the center that catches the product, making it easy to spread evenly over my lips. And while matte products are usually very drying for me, I noticed this liquid lip didn’t leave my mouth feeling like the Sahara. The formula has a blend of cocoa butter, olive oil, and vitamin E, which kept my lips feeling luscious and moisturized, even after hours of wear.
Popband Pop Starry Eye Self-warming Eye Mask, 1 mask - Retail Value $4
I suffer from migraines and sinus headaches, so Popband has been on my radar for quite a while. Their amazing self-warming eye masks are absolutely incredible. They’re so relaxing and soothing on tired or strained eyes, and perfect for relief from sinus headaches. Once you pop this on, the mask starts warming within thirty seconds and incredibly stays warm for over twenty minutes. I have a lot of products that I can heat in the microwave as a kind of DIY version of this mask, but it’s very hard to get the temperature just right, where it’s soothing but not scalding to the sensitive skin around my eyes. This mask is perfect every time, with just the right amount of warmth.
Onekind Dream Cream Nighttime Moisturizer, 10 ml - Retail Value $12
I’ve tried products from this brand before, and they’ve always been high-quality products with great ingredients. This moisturizer is hydrating and perfect for soothing your skin after a long day. I use a pea-sized amount every night after cleansing, and it keeps my skin feeling protected and hydrated all night long. It doesn’t feel greasy at all and allows me to wake up with bouncy, buoyant skin. The product doesn’t have an intrusive fragrance and it quickly absorbs into my skin. This moisturizer, although heavier than the gel-based products I usually prefer, feels lightweight on my skin and has yet to clog any pores. I love the packaging of this product as well. It’s very minimalist and clean, but besides the looks, I also enjoy that it comes in a tube that makes it easy to squeeze out the desired amount each time.
Judith Leiber Discovery Set For Her, 0.15 oz - Retail Value $12
This Discover set offers up three very diverse fragrances. ‘Gourmand’ features notes of black currant, vanilla, and gingerbread. ’Zest’ features a fragrance with a burst of sparkling citrus, peony, and bergamot. Lastly, there is ‘Floral,’ a very strong flowery scent, featuring orchid and ylang ylang. These perfume samples are perfect for anyone who likes a more floral scent. For me, the three scents were a bit more potent than I usually enjoy for a fragrance. In general, I’m not a huge fan of fragrances, but if I had to wear a perfume, it would be in the scent ‘clean laundry,’ lol. There is one scent in particular (‘Floral,’ I think) that made me feel like someone’s grandma had just tried suffocating me with their lingering perfume cloud.
Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner, 0.3 ml - Retail Value $12
I love Eyeko. I feel like almost everyone does. The brand just makes a great eyeliner with a wonderfully precise felt tip applicator. This eyeliner is dark, and the dramatic color gives my tired, sleepy morning eyes a bold, defined, confident look. The narrow pen tip that I’ve come to love from Eyeko eyeliners is perfect for precise application, even if you haven’t had your first coffee yet, and is inspired by traditional calligraphy pens. With this applicator, I find that I have excellent control over how thick or thin I want to make my liner. We’ve all been there… You mess up the liner and you keep trying to fix it and it gets thicker and thicker and thicker until, well, let’s just say it’s not a good look. The formula applies smoothly, doesn’t smudge, and lasts all day long.
AHAVA Superfood Kale & Turmeric Body Lotion, 40 ml - Retail Value $5
I’ve always struggled to find a really good body lotion. Even with trying so many brands, I’ve always found that body lotion leaves a greasy film or it’s watery or the fragrance is too overpowering. My daily routine usually uses body oils for hydration. This product surprised me. At first, I thought it was going to be another watery lotion, but I found it to be more lightweight than watery. It absorbed quickly, leaving behind smooth, silky skin, with no greasy residue left behind. It worked very well to moisturize my skin. The scent is a little strong, in my opinion, though it seems to dissipate quickly. That being said, it is a very unique scent that might not be for everyone. I would describe it as ‘earthy,’ with a touch of ‘planty.’ It definitely smells like a plant.
Verdict
I think this was a great GlossyBox. There was so much diversity in the products that it reminded me almost of Allure Beauty Box. I love the Popband self-warming eye mask. It’s a wonderful product that really helps me relax and eases any migraines I might have… Highly recommend. There was also the AHAVA body lotion and Onekind night moisturizer… Two products that brought heavy-hitting hydration to my skin. I was also really impressed with the Josephine Cosmetics matte liquid lipstick. This brand definitely gave me a new outlook on liquid lipsticks. The Eyeko eyeliner is another quality product from a well-known brand. The precision felt tip applicator is everything. I also really like that the Judith Leiber Discovery perfume set was included. It’s nice to see a fragrance in a box that is more than just a single sample pack. This set let me try a variety of fragrances from the brand, which I enjoyed, and I think it’s great for GlossyBox subscribers to get more of a feel for the brand and its products. Overall, I think this was a great box with the variety and quality of products included.
