First Impressions
Laurel & Reed always arrives beautifully packaged and utterly giftable, though I doubt you will want to part with it!
There are always a few helpful info cards too!
Now, on to the items!
BLÜH ALCHEMY Toning Elixir, 3.4 fl oz – Retail Value $54
Another delivery, another incredible mist! Most of you know that I am a mist enthusiast by now. They are just insanely easy and useful! You can use them alone on your face as often as you like for hydration and glow, layer them in between your skincare steps to keep everything absorbing nicely, or even use them to thin out your favorite mask so it hydrates deeper and your product lasts longer! One step of my facials is a custom mask for each client that I build from an assortment of different creams, oils, clays, and powders depending on what their skin needs at the time of their visit. And I use mists all the time to make these masks smoother and help the different ingredients mix together. This particular mist has a lot of goodness going for it: aloe, rose water, niacinamide, vitamin C (from caviar limes!), hyaluronic acid, and more. All together it smells awesome, replenishes dry skin, and helps keep everything nice and tight.
AAVRANI Eye Rejuvenating Elixir, 0.5 fl oz – Retail Value $49
I was immediately struck by the packaging of this product. It is adorable! I love the bold blue glass and the colorful illustrated box. It is one of those presentations that makes you smile instantly. Sure, that's not the most important factor when it comes to a skincare item, but it certainly enhances the experience! Inside that blue bottle is a really wonderful eye cream. It has everything I want when I think of an eye cream inside: lipid-rich oils, antioxidants, and caffeine. It takes just a little bit of this stuff to get great coverage around the eye and because of that caffeine, it has an instant firming effect making it ideal for daytime use (though you can totally use it at night too!).
MAATA Polish Cleansing Dirt, 3.4 oz – Retail Value $44
Our last item arrives in a beautiful glass bottle and is a dry formula that you can mix with honey, yogurt, water, a cream, aloe, well, most anything you can think of! I used it in combination with the Toning Elixer and night cream to craft a cream+clay mask that is ideal for dryer skin like mine that still benefits from careful use of clay in skincare. The ingredients inside this bottle include three different clays, marshmallow root, rose petals, ginger, turmeric, and moringa leaf. It has a really delicate and earthy scent and feels truly lovely on my face but especially my neck and chest!
Verdict
This Laurel & Reed delivery felt really well curated and centered around a blue theme. Inside were three very different products that all worked well together to boost skin resilience and hydration. I am already a BLÜH ALCHEMY fan and was also excited to try out two additional brands that were totally new to me. This continues to be such a great indie skincare discovery box.
