Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that curates a collection of skincare and luxury beauty products delivered to your doorstep. The contents of the boxes change each month, and sometimes they include different brands, and sometimes they create limited edition sets, like this one, to cater to a specific market.

This is a review of the Glossybox Grooming Kit Limited Edition, which costs $35 (currently on sale for $31.50 or $30 for subscribers).

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

First of all, all the expressions and reviews of these products are the thoughts of my husband, who gracefully volunteered to try these products. In his own words, after opening the box, he had four words: “WOW. THIS. IS. FANCY.” In all fairness, it was. This limited edition Glossybox comes beautifully wrapped in a smaller box with a ribbon. Perfect for celebrating the first Glossybox US grooming kit! The box comes with a small booklet that talks about each product and its retail value.

What’s Inside The Box

For All Hair Love Regeneration Elixir (full-size) - Retail Value $34

This is the first product he tried. To be honest, his own words were: “how do I even know this is working?” This formula helps support scalp health to provide a better environment for hair growth, giving you fuller and thicker hair. Now, my husband has A LOT of hair, and it grows almost instantly if you ask me. I wish I knew his secret, but he literally uses soap bars as shampoo, so the mystery remains. It has a very grassy scent, but it’s not overpowering, so you can use this at night. I might use this myself to see if I notice any difference.

For All Skin Refresh Post Hair Removal Tonic (full-size) - Retail Value $44

My husband shaves daily or almost daily and this tonic is meant to help alleviate post-shaving irritation, soothe razor burn, and prevent ingrown hair. My husband, however, didn’t feel that way. He used this as an aftershave tonic, and he was literally screaming! It was apparently too irritating for him, and he absolutely hated it.

This tonic has calendula, ginseng root, and salicylic acid, plus CBD. Honestly, after his initial reaction, I was surprised that he felt it was too astringent based on the ingredients. However, you instantly whiff the alcohol when you smell it, which makes sense. My husband said he would never use this again, so I might use it instead.

Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb Infrared Eau de Toilette, (deluxe-mini) - Retail Value $3

My husband was really excited to see a fragrance. While he usually wears the same cologne, he was excited to try a new one. This fragrance is inspired by red habanero chili pepper and tobacco for a warm scent. My husband liked it, and I absolutely adored it. Here’s the funny thing, we tried this fragrance on a couple of friends, and it felt different for everyone. My husband agrees this could be a great evening fragrance for business meetings or night outs.

Verso Skincare Eye cream, (deluxe-mini) - Retail Value $21

As you approach your 30s, eye creams and moisturizers suddenly become part of your skincare routine. As an avid skincare enthusiast, my husband actually has an extensive nighttime routine, so this was a fun addition to his routine. The Verso eye cream helps protect the skin barrier with hyaluronic acid and fermented oat. The one thing he did say about this sample was the richness. It was creamy and the application felt very luxurious – though I think the packaging had something to do with it there.

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Invisible+, (6-patches) - Retail Value $3

Full disclosure, this was the one item I stole from my husband. I’m obsessed with pimple patches as someone who deals with acne regularly. I loved that these ones are almost invisible, so you can wear them throughout the day. My husband used maybe one of the patches, but he felt they were worthless because his pimple wasn’t gone the following day. I explained that it was not going to do that. Hydrocolloid patches help draw out moisture and speed up healing to prevent scarring and dark spots. They don’t speed up the pimple growing process.

Wolf Project Hydrating Face Mask, (single) - Retail Value $5

I was so excited to learn that this is a skincare sheet mask that’s 95% natural. It’s made of bamboo charcoal and soaked serum. Of course, to my husband, this was just another sheet mask. He applied this after a long day at work, his words: “this feels cool, luxurious, and kind of soft.” Also, this was the only photo I got him to volunteer to take.

Being married to a skincare lover, my husband is no stranger to sheet masks. However, he instantly noticed that this one felt very different, and he wasn’t using your average sheet mask. To be honest, I felt a bit envious, wishing women’s sheet masks were this luxurious.

Wolf Project Detox Mud Face Mask Sheet, (single) - Retail Value $6

The second one was weird for him because it has a blend of kaolin and bentonite clays to absorb excess sebum. My husband felt this was too tight on the skin – probably the clay drying out – and wasn’t as luxurious as before. However, after I explained this was more for removing blackheads and pulling out excess sebum, it made sense. To him, “the detox mask is for getting ready for a business meeting, and the hydrating one is for relaxing.”

Regiment CBD Beard, Brow, and Mustache Growth Solution, (full-size) - Retail Value $38.16

My husband was a bit too skeptical about this growth solution. It’s a cannabidiol-infused formula to naturally promote facial hair and brows. However, my husband really doesn’t need any hair growth help since he can blink a get a full head of hair in no time. Nonetheless, he thought this would be cool to help promote hair in those spotty areas of his beard. Of course, he wanted to see immediate results, and after a week or so of using it, nothing happened. So, naturally, he stopped using this. But, perhaps with continuous use, you would see some results? I might steal this one for my eyebrows and see if it works!

The Verdict

All in all, for someone who’s never received a subscription box, this limited edition box made my husband feel very special. He praised the high-end look of the packaging and the products included. He was also disappointed that he didn’t receive one of the Deep Sleep eye mask items. But he would still give this box a solid 8 out of 10. As for me, I’m probably going to steal one or three products out of this box for myself!

I’ve seem the Verso Eye Cream EVERYwhere! Lol. I mean is someone trying to get rid of old stock, or what?!? With tht being said, I still haven’t tried it (yet), and wouldn’t mind to at all! So this box was very underwhelming, imo…The best things were the eye cream & frangrance. Too many very specific products(?) Idk, I just don’t see the value there. I did enjoy the review though -Thx so much! Happy Holidays All!!

Agree! I wish it had more “luxe” products. But overall, my husband had a blast sampling this box. And I might steal some of these items for myself!
