December 2021: "Happy Makeup Hour"

Along with my beauty items, I received an info card that details what items are in the box. This month also included an IG card to encourage reviews. This month's theme is "Happy Makeup Hour" and I love it! While I appreciate the joy of the holidays, there are those that do not celebrate, and this theme makes way for other celebrations (like happy hour)!
Medusa's Cotton Candy Lip Scrub – Retail Value $10.00

Starting off our December review with an item that will be much appreciated this winter season...a lip scrub! My whole body gets dry during the winter months, but especially my hands and lips. This sweet lip scrub will be put to great use. First things first, let's talk about this highlighter pink color. So cute! The scrub also smells just like cotton candy. I couldn't wait to try! I wet my lips slightly with water and then put a small amount of product on my lips and rubbed in a circular motion. I then rinsed off after a minute or so. The scrub left my lips feeling really soft and removed the dread skin.
Atomic Makeup Lipstick (Brick City), 10ml – Retail Value $14.00

This is my first time using the brand Atomic Makeup and so far, I really like what I see! First, it is Latina-owned. Yes, yes, yes to inclusion and diversity! Second, this color. I love, love, love it! It's a rich burnt brick hue and is in a shade that seems as though it will flatter almost all skin complexions. Third, this light full-coverage matte lippie feels so good on. The lipstick wasn't drying at all.

Peony Shadow Trio Palette, 3 g– Retail Value $18.00

Next up is a shadow palette that proves big things really do come in small packages 🙂 This highly pigmented palette of three deep shades is so glam! The shadows are buildable and stay on for up to eight hours!

I tried the middle brown color on and love how velvety smooth it looks on my eye. The color goes really well with my complexion and gives me a nice glow. Looking forward to playing some more in this palette.
Medusa's Liquid Eyeshadow (Ava) – Retail Value $14.00

Our last item in this month's box is a liquid eye shadow in a shiny gold color. I was a little nervous about how this would look on me at first. I prefer matte shadows to liquid shadows, and this particular color looked a little too shiny for my liking. But once I tried it on, I grew to like it.

It's shiny, but not overly flashy, and makes for a nice holiday party eye!
Verdict
I enjoyed this selection of items from Medusa's Makeup box this month! The Happy Makeup Hour theme was chic, inclusive, and fun. My top 3 fave items were the lip scrub, lipstick, and shadow trio. The scrub left my lips feeling soft and smelled so good! I can't get over that beautiful lipstick color. The brick-red makes for a nice shade all season long. The gold natural colors in the trio will be put to good use in this and every season. Another winner from Medusa's Makeup!
