The Breakdown - What's Inside My December 2021 Petit Vour Box
Ere Perez Beetroot Cheek & Lip Tint in Joy, 0.15 oz - Retail Value $27
Ere Perez is a popular vegan and cruelty-free makeup brand that is on the pricier side, so I love that Petit Vour included a full-size product from them. The shade Joy is a festive bright cherry red that is perfect for this time of year, and along with beetroot extract, this formula is made with rosehip extract and vitamin E. My only complaint is this didn't have the staying power I prefer to see in a lip tint- this is described as being "kiss-proof," but I definitely had issues with smearing. There's a chance that the smearing was due to user error, though, and I am going to keep playing around with this to see if I can make this work for me.
Acure Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream, 1 oz - Estimated Value $2.50 (buy the 4 oz version for $9.99)
Acure products can be hit or miss for me, but this cleanser is pretty solid. It's a creamy cleanser made with argan oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, and chamomille, and it feels a little thick on my skin when I apply it like I'm massaging in a hug. The resealable pouch packaging makes this really handy for travel, which is also when my skin tends to be a little extra sensitive.
Province Apothecary Regenerating + Resurfacing Mask, 60 g- Retail Value $36
This mask is made with just six ingredients- oat flour, lentil flour, lavender, flax seed, violet flowers and leaves, and green tea leaves. It's a dry powder that you mix with your liquid of choice (like a hydrating toner, honey, a facial oil, yogurt, or even just plain water) before applying to your skin, and it works to gently exfoliate and hydrate your skin. I love the simplicity of the list of the organic ingredients and how there's no added fragrance, and even the bag the mask comes in is compostable and made from renewable materials. The mask itself wasn't too harsh on my sensitive skin, and I like that I can control the exfoliation level by how firmly I massage it in and how much liquid I mix into the formula.
The Seaweed Bath Co. Firming Detox Body Cream, 1.5 oz - Retail Value $3.99
I like the bath salts from this brand, and I think this is the first time I've tried their body lotion. I really enjoyed the refreshing rosemary mint smell of the lotion- it was zingy and I loved it. The formula is made with seaweed, green tea, and hyaluronic acid to nourish and hydrate your skin, and I love how this didn't leave a greasy residue behind.
Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $18
Cost Breakdown:
- Ere Perez: $27 → $6.99
- Acure: $2.50 → $0.65
- Province Apothecary: $36 → $9.32
- The Seaweed Bath Co: $3.99 → $1.03
Everything in the box adds up to $69.49, which is a really nice value for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.
Key Takeaways
I thought this was another really nice month from Petit Vour. I am determined to make that Ere Perez lip tint work for me, and while I am not normally a fan of dry powder masks you have to mix yourself the one from Province Apothecary is growing on me. The two products from Acure and The Seaweed Bath Co., while not full-sized, were generously sized and were both solid performers. Overall, I thought this was a well-rounded box with a high value. If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.
