The Breakdown - What's Inside My November 2021 Petit Vour Box
Athr Beauty Rose Gold Eye Shadow Single, 1.5 g - Retail Value $16
I have been really curious about trying the eyeshadows from Athr Beauty- their palettes are gorgeous, and I actually had no idea you could get individual shadows. I don't have a magnetic palette to place this into, so this is a little cumbersome for me (but totally in line with the brand's sustainable beauty focus). The formula of the powder was buttery smooth, and I like how you can control the finish depending on how you apply it. Applying it with an eyeshadow brush gave this more of a diffused shimmery look, while when it's applied with my finger the finish is almost metallic. The color rose gold color is so pretty, and it makes it feel extra special knowing that it has been infused with amethyst and citrine.
Here is the eyeshadow swatched.
Chiky Botanica Serene Serum, 1 oz - Retail Value $56
This seemed like a serum my sensitive skin was going to love. Blue tansy? Lapis lazuli? Rosehip oil? I was completely ready to slather my face in this and never look back until I caught that fractionated coconut oil was one of the ingredients in this organic oil-based serum. Some people can use coconut oil and they look like their skin has been kissed by angels. When I use coconut oil on my face, it is cystic acne city. Needless to say, I was bummed because the rest of this serum looks delightful, but I have still been able to use it on other parts of my body that isn't as sensitive to coconut oil the way my face is. This had a very grounding scent that I enjoyed, and since this is an oil-based serum I used small amounts at a time. When applying it that way I had no issues with greasiness, and my skin absolutely soaked it up.
Busy Co *Biodegradable* Hand Wipes, 3 ct - Estimated Value $1.35 (buy 15 for $6.75)
I love, love, love the inclusion of these unscented biodegradable hand wipes in this month's box. On more than one occasion I have found myself out and about with sticky fingers and nothing to wipe them with, and these environmentally-friendly wipes seem like the perfect solution if I keep them handy by storing them in my purse or the center console of my truck. I really like how large these wipes are- think more like along the lines of the size of a makeup wipe (maybe even slightly bigger), not the small wet wipe you get when you order a basket of wings. The wipe itself is biodegradable, and the packaging it comes in is recyclable.
Davids Premium Charcoal Toothpaste, 1.75 oz - Retail Value $4.95
I am very much team fluoride in my toothpaste, so while I am always happy to have small tubes like these handy for travel, they never will replace my standard toothpaste. Compared to my regular Crest, this toothpaste was a lot thinner in texture and became very watery in my mouth as I brushed. I didn’t particularly love the mouthfeel, but I did really like how zesty the peppermint taste was. It’s completely psychological but the more strongly peppermint my toothpaste is, the more I feel like my mouth is clean and my breath is fresh. Once I was done brushing, my mouth did feel really clean (was it the zest of the peppermint? Was it the limestone abrasive and baking soda in the formula getting to work in my mouth? I will never know), and if this formula was made with fluoride I would be taking a much closer look at replacing my current toothpaste.
Value - Was This Box Worth It?

- Busy Co: $1.35 → $0.31
- Davids: $4.95 → $1.14

Key Takeaways
I thought this month from Petit Vour was awesome- if my skin wasn't sensitive to coconut oil this may have been one of the best boxes from them I have ever received, but even then I can really appreciate the quality of the serum. I love when subscription boxes send products that are super practical and easy for me to immediately use in my life, and that's exactly what those Busy Co hand wipes are. Finally, the Athr Beauty eyeshadow was something I have been wanting to try, so you'll get no complaints from me. The value was awesome, too, with everything being worth more than $60 more than the $18 cost of the box. If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.
