What is this box, #ThrowbackFebruary or something? Tropicals Like Butter Hydrating Mask is a new product to me, but the others have been around forever and have been featured in multiple sub boxes over the years. They aren’t bad products, but I thought Allure was about introducing us to newer products that are outstanding.
Yvette
I just got my box but it was missing a L’Occitane item. I called customer service and they asked if I got a Caudalie serum in the box and I said no.
She said she’d be sending out a L’Occitane item by the end of the week and I should receive it before next month’s box.
I really don’t trust anyone to do what they’re supposed to lately and I just hope I remember to follow up if I never get it.

Did you get that bath salt instead of L’Occitane? Because I did. Isn’t it the same one we received in September 2021? I called customer service that I received the duplicate but the one I talked was so rude and was insisting she didn’t find any bath salt in the past boxes, questioning when they sent bath salt, what’s the brand etc. in very rude manner! Did not go anywhere.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get notified of follow-up comments even though I check the box?
Anyway, I did get the bath salt, but that was still supposed to be in addition to the L’Occitane. It wasn’t a duplicate for me because I skipped that box.
I’m so glad you called back and got someone better. Customer service is so bad lately!
Lin
Thank you, Izzie. I called them back again since I couldn’t answer exactly in which box that bath salt was included for the first time I called. A different rep picked up my call (thank goodness) and she said they will send a replacement. While I was googling the past boxes, I realised the Kneipp bath salt packet we got in back in Sep 2021 was “Relaxing Lavender”, but this time it was “Dream Away” (Lavender sent…). Is this their reasoning of accusing me “I don’t see a duplicate! If you insist, you tell me when we sent the same one!”??? To me it’s a duplicate, and more, can’t be a replacement for L’Occitane. It seems to me they sent L’Occitane to new members and Amazon members, but tried to get away with sending slightly different sent of sample bath salts packet to loyal subscribers as their 6th “editor recommended existing item”
Izzie
Lin, I had the bath salt as well (and you are right, we got them in September 2021), and I sent an email to allure. The rep was really nice and told me that they are sending me the body wash. Tbh, I would have been fine with a repeat, I just don’t do bath salt at all and am still using that old pouch to soak my feet (which I rarely do).
Wendy
I got my January box today and have two repeaters. I have fine, straight hair and can’t use the Christophe Robin hair cream because it’s too heavy. I also already got the Caudalie Vinosource Serum (twice). I have emailed Allure to see if I can get replacements. Has anyone else had success with getting replacements? Do you have to send back the unopened duplicates?

Yvette
Call them. They should send you out something different.

I sent an email. They said they would send out replacements. We shall see

I skipped December box since there wasn’t a single item I’d use, but wanted January box so re-activated on January 1st. I just got email that they sent December and January box…
I’ve contacted customer service via email but just received generic email saying sorry for the inconvenience but due to new year’s holiday, system reactivated December so I’m purchasing Dec box…
I’m so sad l just bought unwanted box because I don’t have patience to re-active whenever system is ready

I was wondering about the late shipping too, looks like I am not the only one!

Has anyone gotten the shipping notification yet or gotten their box? Seems late this month…or could be that it feels like January is kicking my butt and it should be later.

Kristin
I received my notification that my box shipped today. Some Chicago regions are only getting mail once a week due covid:( so we may have a longer wait..

I got my box last Friday, the 7th. All my products were completely frozen! It was cold in Chicago.

I never get my box this early and I am a long-time subscriber. It arrives typically mid/late-month and my shipping notice, if I get one, is sent the day before it delivers.

Izzie
Sorry about January! If it can help, my box has not shipped yet.in December I got my box on the 20th, so I suppose the timeline for January is going to be very similar.

Does anyone know if my previous subscription with them factors into which products I get? I know there aren’t supposed to be repeats and all that, but when I was previously subscribed, I received the CR hair cream. I canceled for awhile and resubbed last month. Curious if I will get the hair cream again or the mist? Anyone have ideas or experiences with this? Thanks!

Stephanie
For what I was told you are not supposed to receive any duplicates. If you read the description for the full spoilers on the MSA website or the Allure website it’ll tell you resubscribing members or rejoining members will receive something other than what they’ve already gotten in their pass boxes. And I think the choices are laid out there in front of you. So you should get an idea of what it is that you will not be getting based on what you previously got. I hope that helps🤞 I too thought about joining or resubscribing for this month. 🤔 That that Sunday Riley eye cream is looking real good 😊

I was wondering the same thing was I’ve been getting this box for about 5 years now but did cancel once for a few months. I’d hate to get the CR daily creme again as I only need a small amount so the 1st tube is still at least 3/4 off the way full!

This is what I got from Allure customer service:
Due to the different versions we may have with our box, you may receive
some duplicate products. If this happens, please let us know and we will
be happy to replace them for you.

I will be really disappointed if I get the bath salts instead of one of the other options. Otherwise, it looks like a great box.

I haven’t subscribed to this box in a long time but this one looks great. May unsub depending on the Feb box

I cancelled this month because of the mascara (no shade to the product, I just have TONS of mascaras) and then reupped because of the other items. I would not purchase Sunday Riley at retail because of the high end pricing and the fake reviews but I don’t mind getting it in a box. I’m also excited for the hair mist (which I should get since I already got the cream). This is finally the last box of my ‘year at the old price subscription’ and I’m very glad to be done. It’s nice to have the option of getting a single month from Amazon if FOMO overtakes me.

Is it too late to skip or cancel now?

Resubbed in Dec for the 50% off and new member gifts, but I already have a bunch of these so I skipped Jan. I will be getting the box from Amazon instead for the leave in hair mist which I really wanted to try. I’m happy about the mascara brand and SR-I think this looks like a great box all around.

I’m so confused. What are we (not new people) actually getting?
Reply
Mandi
Everyone gets the Real Beauty Mascara, Sunday Riley eye cream, and Solaana primer. You will get one of the Christophe Robin hair treatments-have you got the sandalwood cream before? If you have you will get the new mist. You will randomly get one of the new eye patches and whichever of the last items you haven’t got before. If you’ve subbed for a long time you will probably get the l’occitane shower oil, since that looks newer than the others.
I’m getting the Amazon version instead, if you cancel right away you can get that one-it’s the same for everyone and comes with the mist, bliss patches and almond shower oil.

So, most of you know that Sunday Riley faked their Sephora reviews. It came right from the top, from Sunday herself. Supposedly after the FTC ordered them to stop they are no longer doing that. But if you filter the reviews on Sephora to verified purchases only there are only 7 reviews out of 1.6k! A whole lot of the rest were gifted the product for a review, which always artificially skews the reviews positively. When a product has that many “free product” reviews it always makes me extra reliant on the verified ones. Of course people could be purchasing in person or elsewhere, but of those 7 verified purchase reviews only one is 5 stars, one is positive with reservations, and the rest are terrible. It’s kind of funny that they named this product “5 Stars,” which is what they ordered their employees to rate all products on Sephora *eye roll*

Leangreenbean – I agree. I will never pay full price for a Sunday Riley product because of their fraud. With that said, I really liked the sunscreen we got a few months ago.

How anybody can still have any trust in their products or respect for a supposed high end skin care brand, when they have been doing this for at least 2 years, that’s the proven part, and probably longer, never bothered with publicly acknowledgement or apology. If the reviews were 99% fake for their top selling products, how anyone can trust the quality of their other products…Or want to buy from a company who holds it’s customers in such a low regard.

They got caught. But you never know who else does it and didn’t. I take them with a grain of salt and look elsewhere for product info. Definitely not Sephora or Ulta 👍

Wow, a lot of these are reruns. Still glad I didn’t renew.
The Christophe Robin spray is interesting; I may look into it.

Great box however I would rather have the Skinmedica mask over the Bliss, this one works better for me.

I used the Skinmedica eye masks I got a while back and was severely underwhelmed.

They work good for me, I think they work for some people and not for others, just like the Bliss ones, everyone has their own preference.

Amazon subscribers will receive the CR Hair Mist, L’Occitane Almond Shower Gel and the Bliss Eye Patches. Nice box!

That’s a lot of “or” items. Don’t think I’ve seen that many in one box before.

Yeah that’s kind of annoying. I like when everyone pretty much receives the same thing. It makes reviews and discussions about the box much more relevant. I think that’s the reason I’m not into ipsy or boxycharm too much. Too many varieties which ends up just boggling my mind. I think my motto for 2022 is going to be “keep it simple.” 😁

Looking forward to the Sunday Riley! Looks like a wonderful box! I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years and it’s the only box that is consistently good. Can’t make everyone happy in every category all the time.

So many repeats.

Do repeats matter that much? They are only for new members.
Renewing Members will receive one of the following based on their membership history and will not receive the same item twice.

Agreed. You know what you’re going to get based on your history with allure and won’t get repeats sooo I don’t get why it’s a big deal. That’s just me tho!
