Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The $34.99 per month Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc, while the $39.99 per month Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

This is a review of the Crazy Cat Lady Box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

As soon as the box arrives, you know your cat-loving heart is in for a good time. Everything arrives in a brown cardboard box with a black cat silhouette on it. Once you open it up, you can expect to find anything from cat-themed jewelry, clothes, home decor, and more. If you subscribe to the Crazy Cat Lady box, you'll also get a few treats for your furbaby, too.

This box does come with an info sheet, and each month they feature custom artwork. This month's artist was Kristina Crocus.

*Note- You'll probably notice this review is a little late. My original shipment of the December box went on an adventure that ultimately did not end up at my door. Cat Lady Box was quick to ship out a replacement when we realized the issue, but that's why this review is later than normal.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The December Crazy Cat Lady Box

First, let's meet the cat that will be helping me to review this box. If you've been reading my MSA reviews for a while, you may remember my old cat, Duchess. Duchess is no longer here with me, and after a few months, I felt ready to get another cat companion. Meet Sir Goose! I adopted him when he was one month and twenty-two days old, and he was 2.2 pounds. Now he is almost a year old and he loves toys- I have yet to find a toy he won't play with. Now, let's dive into my November box from Crazy Cat Lady!

Cats Are My Favorite! Shirt - Listed Value $22.99

Since getting this subscription I have been wearing the shirts that come inside of it pretty frequently, and I love that for me. This green tee says "cats are my favorite" in a stacked design that resembles a Christmas tree, but it's not so obviously festive that I would look out of place wearing this at a different time of year. The material on this shirt is really soft, and my favorite part is how long these are. I have a long torso and hate when t-shirts feel like they don't fully cover my stomach, but this is a little longer in the arms and torso so I am fully covered while being fully comfortable, too.

Cat Stitch Tote - Listed Value $39.99

This is a really nice tote, and totes are honestly something I am always happy to get in a subscription box because I get much use out of them. This tote, in particular, I would describe as mid-size, and has both an outer shell and inner lining that can easily be wiped clean if something happened to spill in it or on it. Goose's hair isn't going to stick to the smooth fabric, and I like the silver and gold stitching that outlines the head of a cat- it's subtle but still lets me fully embrace my inner crazy cat lady.

Felt Cat Coasters - Listed Value $17.99

This is such a cute idea- and not one that I recall seeing in a subscription box before. Regardless, I am happy to have more coasters, and these happy cat-faced ones are adorable. I've never really thought of felt as a material for a coaster, but these have been working for me so clearly I just don't know much about the world of coasters. I would say my favorite coaster is the light pink one- something about that kitty makes me think he is extra cozy and happy. I will say the listed value for this set feels a little high for my personal taste, but in a box like this value is largely arbitrary and what matters most is if you're happy with it (spoiler: I'm happy with it).

Fat Cat Cookie Cutter - Listed Value $4.99 (this item was listed as a bonus)

I have never in my life made cookies that involve using a cookie cutter, I don't plan to change that any time soon, and I am still enchanted with this cute fat cat cookie cutter regardless. This will go in my drawer for a "maybe one-day" mood that may strike- if I'll use lash glue after hanging onto it for four years it's not outside of the realm of possibilities that I'll eventually make sugar cookies (if you have a beginner-friendly sugar cookie recipe you recommend, let me know in the comments).

Santa Paws Hat Catnip Toy - Listed Value $5.99

My favorite thing about this Santa hat toy is that it is actually a mini hat, meaning I could put my finger in it and poke Goose with it to get his attention and play with him. This was helpful, considering he thought the box was the star of the show at first.

This is the first time since starting to receive this box that Goose fully decided to climb inside and make himself comfortable.

A poke of a Santa hat-covered finger got his attention, though, and then he tried to bite it off to play with it by himself.

Which he did successfully- he laid in the spot in my bedroom he likes to lay in and play with toys; you can see last month's candlestick toy still hanging around for that very purpose.

Catmas Tree Catnip Toy - Listed Value $5.99

One of the really cute things about these small catnip-filled toys is that they are the perfect size for Goose to hold in his paws and look adorable. That's how he played with this catmas tree, though those photos turned out blurry.

He holds them and then chews on them because he is an apex predator and not a domesticated ball of orange fluff

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

Key Takeaways

This is such a charming subscription box- I love that I get to share it with Goose, and I really love that so far the clothes sent have been incredibly, incredibly comfy, and cozy. The December box from the Cat Lady Box always aims to be a little extra special, and I definitely feel the love with the bonus cookie cutter and the fact that we received both a shirt and a nice tote. I've said this before, but I really feel like this box strikes a good balance of sending practical and whimsical items- I always look forward to what the next month will bring.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Alice gave a really easy solution to the cookie-cutter problem, but I think it would make a great Christmas tree ornament. Slather it with glue, sprinkle it with glitter, and tie a piece of yarn around it. Haha.

I wish this sub box just gave monthly cat toys. I don’t want all the cat lady stuff, but I always want all the cat toys and I want them to just come to my door without me thinking about ordering them!

Great idea for an ornament!

One of the few subs I’ve kept. Loved your review and the photos of sweet Sir Goose.
Jessica, pick up one of the Betty Crocker sugar cookie pouch mixes. It’s foolproof, easy, and delicious! It instructs for drop cookies, but you could roll out easily and use the cat cutter.
