First Impressions
The sheet masks come packaged in a cheerful yellow and pink bubble mailer- my eyes definitely enjoyed the bright colors of the packaging and the sheet masks inside. To me, sheet masks are supposed to be fun, and I think Facetory does a good job with their branding to keep things lighthearted and joyful- the outside packaging saying "Woo Hoo!" is exactly how I feel when my subscription box is delivered to me. The subscription also comes with a card that has a QR code you can scan to learn more about this month's box. Now let's dive into them.
The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box
Sweeteen Tartcherry Cica Calming Mask - Estimated Value $2 (buy a box of 10 for $20)
My skin loves cica (Centella Asiatica), so I am always happy when that is in the name of a mask. This one, in particular, fit my face really well and checked all the boxes of being hydrating, soothing, and leaving no sticky residue behind.
Detoskin Tea Time Mask
This mask had a lot of slits around the edge, which meant I was able to get a really good fit on my face because I could adjust it more. One random thing I noticed was that I felt like the eye holes were smaller than standard on this mask, but it wasn't an actual issue for me. The mask is made with tea and rose extract, and I found it to be a really nourishing sheet mask that my skin enjoyed.
NOHJ Modeling Serum Mask in Chrysanthemum - Estimated Value $1.69 (buy a box of 10 for $16.90)
I've actually tried this mask once a year or so ago, but I can't remember if it came in a subscription box or not. Anyways, this is a fun one. The fit was slightly awkward, but it was worth it for the selfies and overall aesthetic: this mask has metallic gold roses printed across the material! I actually ended up wearing this mask for 35 minutes, and my skin soaked up every bit of the hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and chrysanthemum extract this soothing mask had to offer.
Heart Signal Ready for Love Signal Mask
This was a nice sheet mask. The material was softer than your standard sheet mask, and it was infused with lotus extract to help calm skin inflammation and add a boost of radiance. I was able to wear this for longer than the typical 15-20 minutes that sheet masks instruct, and I was as happy as a clam the entire time.
Muldream Vegan Green Mild Mask - Retail Value $3.72
This mask is made with some ingredients I really love like ceramides and centella asiatica, so I had high hopes this would be a calming mask for my sensitive skin. While I am not very familiar with the Muldream brand, this sheet mask definitely delivered. It was hydrating and soothing, and it helped to calm the redness I was dealing with that day.
Blingpop Avocado Mask - Estimated Value $1.60 (linked to similar mask from the same brand)
I really expected this mask to have some type of design on it based on the packaging, but once the foil pouch was torn open it looked just like your standard sheet mask. Along with avocado extract this also has extracts from peony and lily of the valley, and while this was just a standard hydrating sheet mask, I enjoyed it for the price.
NOHJ Aqua Intracell Sleeping Mask - Retail Value $3.62
I loved the Crysanthemum mask from NOHJ so much that I had high hopes for this one, but I actually found it to be kind of boring. It's formulated with honey extract and aloe vera, and my skin loves both of those ingredients- this mask just didn't really do anything to stand out. Yes, it hydrated my skin, but isn't that the bare minimum a sheet mask should do?
Yadah Cactus Toner Pads, 10 ct - Retail Value $10
I know these are not the most environmentally-friendly (then again, neither are sheet masks), but I love individually wrapped toner pads like these- they are SO handy for travel or for when you want to refresh after getting sweaty but don't have the ability to do your full skincare routine. These toner pads allegedly cleanse, gently exfoliate, and hydrate, and while I am not sure about all of that I did like them just as a standard toner, maybe as micellar water if my face was clean. Each packet comes with two pads, and I have not figured out if both pads are soaked in the same essence and I massage them into my skin concurrently the way aestheticians give you facials at the salon, or if one pad somehow is exfoliating and the other one hydrating. Even having that unclear, I still really liked this and tucked these away to store in my travel bag for future adventures.
Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $19.90 + free US shipping
Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $2.48. I couldn't find a value for two of the masks sent this month, but overall I feel like this box provides a decent value considering how low cost and affordable sheet masks are to start with.
Key Takeaways
I really look forward to getting my Facetory subscription, and I like how every month there's a mask that seems to stand out or be a little different than your normal mask. The NOHJ Chrysanthemum mask was the most fun mask in the box this month, but overall I appreciated the focus on hydrating and soothing sheet masks. The bonus item in those toner pads is something that's both practical and works well for my skin, so that's an added perk, too. With a sheet mask subscription like this, you're really paying for a slight discount and a great curation. If you use sheet masks at least twice a week (or even more frequently, if you're like me), then this is a subscription worth checking out.
