GlossyBox is a beauty subscription that sends five deluxe and full-size products to your door every month for $21 (with free shipping to the U.S.). You should expect to discover new brands of hair care, makeup, and skincare in each box, wrapped up nicely with a different theme each time.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

FYI: GlossyBox sometimes sends out multiple variations of the box during some months. So there may be some variation between what we review and what you receive.

First Impressions

Each month GlossyBox usually arrives with a booklet that includes a list of all the products included in that month's box.

What's Inside The Box

BLUME Daydreamer Super Gentle Face Wash, 20 ml - Estimated Retail Value $3.00

Trying out new face cleansers is one of my favorite things to do. I find that my skin does better when I surprise it with different types of cleansers as opposed to using the same one over and over again. This cleanser is luxurious and creamy without feeling greasy at all. The texture reminds me a bit of lotion, and the cleanser itself is very hydrating. It left my skin feeling clean, plump, glowy, and soft. I have very sensitive skin, but I had no irritation or reaction to this cleanser. The cleanser is lightly scented and smells very fresh and clean but not overpowering. Made from all-natural ingredients, the product uses chamomile, lavender, geranium, and giant sea kelp to calm and hydrate skin without stripping.

JULEP BEAUTY Love Your Bare Face Makeup Remover Wipes, 30 wipes - Retail Value $10.00

I love to keep a pack of cleansing wipes on my nightstand, just in case I’m ever too tired to get up and wash my face. I really appreciate that these wipes don’t have any powerful scent or lingering smell. They are virtually unscented. I found them to be non-irritating and able to remove makeup, even waterproof mascara. They don’t leave any film or residue behind on my face. I was also pleasantly surprised that these wipes didn’t strip my skin like some I’ve used before, but instead actually left my face feeling clean and hydrated. They are formulated with licorice extract to brighten and help even skin tone and are also paraben-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.

CODEX BEAUTY Antü Brightening Serum, 5 ml - Estimated Retail Value $12.50

This lightly scented citrus-smelling serum is very light and almost airy on my skin. It absorbs quickly and leaves my face looking brighter and feeling hydrated. I like how the packaging is designed to allow me to dispense a small amount of product. The serum goes on smoothly and doesn’t irritate my skin. I’m very impressed by how glowy and bright such a small amount leaves my face. This powerhouse brightening serum contains an ingredient called antucomplex, an antioxidant mix, hibiscus for smoothing, cherimoya for calming, and entadine for protection against environmental stressors. This is a high-quality product, and I’m interested to see what it will do over the long term.

AFTERSPA Marble Roller (Black) - Estimated Retail Value $16.00

I have to admit, I’m not very good at getting the best use out of my skincare tools… Some of them I’ll use a few times, love the experience, and still forget to break them out every once in a while. Then there are the others. The ones I just don’t yet understand (facial cupping, for instance). But this facial roller, even I can admit, feels delightful on the skin, especially after it’s been sitting in my skincare fridge for a few hours. I like to roll the cool texture under my eyes in the morning after washing my face to reduce any lingering puffiness from the night. It feels great, and it definitely works. I know there are many people out there who also use it to increase the absorption of their serums. That’s the next thing to try on my list. I’m interested to see how many days in a row I actually remember to keep it up, lol.

PHILIP KINGSLEY Bond Builder, 20 ml - Estimated Retail Value $14.00

I have received this product once before, and as I recall, this is made for those with finer, straighter hair than myself. I love the idea behind the product, though. A remedy for split ends? Amazing! This bond builder works using hydrolyzed oat protein, which helps to soften hair texture, assist in hydration, and aid moisture retention. The remedy it creates after application is supposed to last up to three washes. In my personal experience, split ends have not been something I’ve had to worry about with my type of hair, so I will once again be passing this along to my finer-haired friend. If you are of the finer-haired side and looking for something to help seal up those split ends, this bond builder may interest you.

INVISIBOBBLE Bunstar - Ice Ice Lady, 2 pieces - Retail Value $9.00

I am incredibly impressed and excited about this product! In the past, I had tried the original Invisibobbles and found that the product was not able to securely hold all of my thick, curly hair in place. Naturally, I was very skeptical and doubted that this Bunstar would be any different. But I’m happy to say that I was wrong. This product is incredible. It securely holds all of my hair in a bun but without the headache-inducing tightness of a typical hair tie. I will definitely be using these a lot. I only wish my former high school self could have had these for all my ballet classes. It’s truly a unique and innovative product, and I really appreciate how it’s able to work efficiently on different textures of hair.

LE MINI MACARON Moisturizing Foot Mask, 1 piece - Retail Value $4.00

Back of Le Mini Macaron Foot Mask for Glossybox January 2022

I am a foot mask fiend! I love them. Foot masks don’t seem to be included in subscription boxes too often, although I wish they were. That said, whenever I do get the chance to treat myself to one of these bad boys, I never regret it. This mask was an answer to my prayers after one of those days in a pair of high heels. While it didn’t eliminate all the pain and throbbing (and it doesn’t promise to), it did help by leaving my feet feeling refreshed and was nicely moisturizing to any potential calloused skin from the long day. On a regular day, I love using one of these masks after exfoliating my feet. The mask has a slight lavender scent to it, which I don’t normally enjoy, but the scent was not overpowering and quite tolerable. I highly recommend a good foot mask whenever you have the extra time to indulge in some self-care.

Verdict

I think this was a really great GlossyBox! The highlight for me has to be the Invisibobble Bunstar. I was shocked with how well it was able to contain all of my hair, and I love how it doesn’t cause any tearing or headaches like a typical hair tie sometimes can. The Julep Beauty cleansing wipes do a great job removing makeup, oil, and dirt from my skin, and I like how they leave my face feeling hydrated instead of stripped. I’m truly a mask lover, so the Le Mini Macaron moisturizing foot mask was definitely a delight for me, even though I’m not a huge fan of lavender-scented products. I also love the inclusion of the Blume cleanser and the Codex Beauty brightening serum. Both products worked well on my sensitive skin, leaving my face feeling clean and hydrated while brightening my complexion. The Afterspa black marble roller, while not something I’ll likely end up reaching for every day, is still great to have on hand. I love how it feels on my face after I pop it in the fridge. Lastly, the Philip Kingsley bond builder… It didn’t work for me, but I have a finer-haired friend whom I know absolutely adores the brand and will get great use out of this product. Overall, I think this was a wonderfully curated box with a good mixture of products, and the retail value was definitely there.

This was such a yawn for me. After a few years of subscribing, this recent box cured my indecision about renewing.I cut the cord and I feel really satisfied. All of that said, I think Glossybox is a great first-time sub for anyone venturing into beauty products. There’s a lot to learn about and it’s helpful – until it becomes redundant.

Really did not enjoy this box. My hair is too short for a bun, I have a million cleansers, and the black roller is the cheapest looking/feeling out of all the ones I’ve received in beauty boxes so far.

This box was a total miss for me. My daughter did take the invisibobble bun star. But it’s more of the same old thing for me.

Be really nice if Glossybox would put up the reviews for the subscribers to review for Glossy Credits. December’s surveys nor Jan have been posted for review. When I contacted Glossybox they keep saying they are working on it???

I’m wondering what is going on with Glossybox. They also haven’t released any spoilers for February. I am afraid that something is wrong, quite frankly.

Is anybody going to list for swap the invisibobble bunstar as I’d love to try it? My hair will never stay in a bun, it’s thick and wavy so doesn’t take kindly to being tied up!

Make a listing for the item. It makes it easier for someone to list it. Some people will not list an item if they have to do the work of listing it. Also if you make the listing make sure you market to follow it.
