First Impressions

Goddess Provisions does a beautiful job with packaging.

The box comes with a short but informative booklet that outlines all of the items inside and discloses the theme. This month's theme is "Sacred Cycles".

What's Inside This Box

Sacred Cycles Candle Set - Retail Value $12.00

Each candle represents a phase of your menstrual cycle while the moon phase candleholder serves to support each candle during your rituals. This cute little set is a celebration of the sacred cycle; even if you're feeling miserable, content, emotional, or downright outraged, a woman's body performs miracles every single month, and that is something to celebrate, so light a candle and take a moment to appreciate life's gifts.

Sacred Cycles Crystal Set - Listed Value $18.00

This set is my absolute favorite find this month. Each crystal, just like the candles, represents a phase of menses. Using the four stones, you could create a crystal grid to connect with your cycle, seasons, moon cycle, or all of the above.  Rose quartz (self-love, compassion), obsidian (protective, illuminating), clear quartz (clarity, purification), and red carnelian (vitality, motivation) collectively create an opportunity for awareness; set your intentions and harmonize with life's cycles using these crystals as a guide. The stones are very smooth and portable, the perfect size to accompany you throughout the day.

Sacred Cycles Oracle Deck - Listed Value $21.99

Aside from being abundant in gorgeous art, this deck may help to connect you to "the natural pulse of the world around you." I love the way that sounds. There are never any firm rules on how to use an oracle like this, but I referred to the handbook to see their recommendations. Begin with a shuffle, then split the deck into three piles. Spread the cards out and choose the card that emits the most energy. You can read into your choice just from the colorful illustrations, but the card's deeper meaning can be found inside the guidebook. Life, in general, is cyclical, so these cards are meant for anyone to utilize.

New Moon Tea Co. Root Support Tea - Listed Value $12.00

I really needed this loose leaf to invigorate my love for tea. I've been relying on coffee, mostly because it is easier to put together as I am rushing out of the door, but I've been longing to revisit my smooth, relaxing, and comforting tea habit. At first whiff, I didn't think I would enjoy this tea. It smells floral yet spicy, and I didn't think the notes would blend together, but it was lovely. I love the hint of citrus, too. I preferred this tea plain, but I think I'd also like it chilled with honey.

Wild Rose Herbs New Moon Balm - Listed Value $10.95

Mm, I think I also needed this herbal balm. It really glides onto the skin and feels wonderful when you're working it into your muscles. This gave me a great excuse to ask Ryan for a massage, and he agrees that the scent and texture are a perfect blend for a relaxing night. Essential oils help to increase circulation and relax tight muscles. This blend is vegan, non-GMO, and cruelty-free.

Reverse Karma Dragon's Blood Incense - Listed Value $22.00

Wow! I don't think I've ever burned a more potent (in a good way) incense. The website claims its fragrance will last up to an hour, but I am still enjoying the aroma, and it has been about 90 minutes. Cones are easy to light; wait until it develops an even flame, then blow it out and enjoy. Burn time of a cone is about 15 minutes.

Verdict

Goddess Provisions put out a fabulous January curation. It took me about 30 years, but I've finally gotten to the point where I can properly honor my body, and this box is a total celebration of that journey. I was, as always, impressed by the quality of each item this month, but I am especially excited about the tea, oracle cards, and of course my little bag of crystals. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite subscriptions; Goddess Provisions consistently sends out quality, thoughtful items that are on theme and in perfect gifting condition. This month's box has a value of $96.94; that is a great value for a $33 box.

I ordered the box. This will be my first goddess provisions box. I love astrology. I think the candles are nice and I’m curious learning more about the cycle and the moon.

I canceled, and wish that I had done so before this month so as to save myself $33. I don’t drink tea. Rocks are pretty but hardly imbued with magical powers. And, yes, we have received more than enough oracle decks in recent months. The candles are cute, and the incense smells good, but they are nothing I couldn’t have lived without. I liked this box much better a couple years ago when they sent more skin care, jewelry, and snacks, and weren’t so focuses on the moon and the zodiac, neither of which have any real control over our lives.

I guess I should say it’s an improvement over previous boxes…I know what you mean. And hey, if I’m 50 and I’m still getting my monthly cycle I’m going to consider that a huge WIN in my book. 😁

You know what’s funny about the menstrual cycle? When you loathe it each month only to come to that point in your life (40!) that you WANT it to come each month or else….dum dum dum….perimenopause. I’ll be honest, not looking forward to drying up, but at least I know every woman will experience this as well (as I told my teenage neice, ya’ll going to get old too! 😋).
I really like this month’s box. It had a nice cohesion and subject matter, though I wonder how many oracle decks one truly needs…

I’m in perimenopause right now, and I really miss the predictability of my period (I was blessed to have regular cycles–though years of that was due to the pill). Now it’s like, “Oh, I think it might be starting soon…or maybe not…wait, now? No, I guess not.” Then a month where I have two of them. Then a couple months without. Then a really heavy one that lasts 2 weeks. Plus all the effects of fluctuating hormones on my sleep and moods.

To get on topic–I’m debating ordering this one. I got Goddess Provisions for a few years, then stopped once it seemed like it was mostly their own products, which were often cheaply made. I think my last one was the Shadows box (with the candle holder that made shadows and some other stuff). I’m intrigued by the deck, though I imagine I could just get it in their shop.

I’m 50. When I was young I had fantastically regular cycles, down to the hour. Then when I got older they got slightly less predictable, but are still pretty regular. Unfortunately I’ve had extremely heavy periods the last few years, and I’ve been wishing so much for menopause, but nope, still pretty regular. I’m not looking forward to the unpredicatabilty of perimenopause. 🙁

Jill, if you are on the swap site, you could possibly work out a swap for the deck. I would swap with you, but I’m currently not on the swap site. I’ve been inactive for a long time and need to recreate my list and profile.
