As if news that Rihanna was pregnant wasn't enough for me to handle today, I just learned there is also a Fenty x Ipsy takeover box coming in March!

We’ll be the first to admit that Rihanna has some sort of magical beauty hold over us, and we know we’re not alone. She chops her hair into a ‘90s bob; we start curating a short haircut Pinterest board for our next appointment. She comes out with a vivid purple blush; we start questioning our peach and pink go-tos. She wears a black lipstick; we place an order for every inky lipstick we can find. You get the point.

When it comes to expressing your unique beauty, Rihanna is the GOAT. Which is why we’re ecstatic to announce that her FENTY BEAUTY and FENTY SKIN lines are the very first brands to take over our debut IPSY Edit. Meet The Edit: Fenty.

Also, congrats to Rihanna. She is glowing.

What is The Edit?

Honestly, this was a total surprise for me. But I am obsessed with this idea:

The Edit: Fenty is the first IPSY-exclusive Edit curated by FENTY BEAUTY and FENTY SKIN (you know, the beauty brainchilds of Queen Rihanna herself). The bundle includes seven in-demand FENTY BEAUTY and FENTY SKIN products, plus a trendy makeup bag, all at a steal of price you just won’t find anywhere else. Seriously, all those products are valued at $171, but you’ll get them for just $49.99.

The Edit launches on March 1st, but quantities are limited. So unless you want to deal with a case of serious FOMO, we’d recommend claiming yours quickly. But don’t worry, if you miss out on The Edit or you just want even more (we can relate!), we got you. A ton of individual FENTY BEAUTY products will also be available on IPSY Shopper. We can’t reveal all our secrets, but we’ll just say if you’ve been wanting to try out the Baby What It Dew Makeup Refreshing Spray, Cheeks Out Cream Blush, or Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick (among others), you’ll definitely want to set an alarm. Reminder, The Edit will be available starting March 1st at 5 a.m. PT.

We’ll be dropping new Edits featuring different iconic brands each quarter, and you won’t want to miss out. Be sure to follow us on Instagram for all the latest IPSY news.

In fact, it actually sounds a lot like what subscribers wish Glam Bag X was: a themed bag with the majority of the items inside coming from a single brand.

So, yeah. Excited is an understatement.

If I can stop shaking and crying long enough to snag one (they launch 3/1 and are very limited!) here is what I might see in my delivery:

1. FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer

2. FENTY BEAUTY Diamond Bomb All Over Diamond Veil

3. FENTY BEAUTY Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer

Other products that caught our eye in that Ipsy announcement include Baby What It Dew Makeup Refreshing Spray, Cheeks Out Cream Blush, or Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick. Will we be seeing those too?

What Else to Know

Well, we still don't know everything. It appears that this box will drop quarterly and be a one time purchase rather than a subscription. Meaning you better snag 'em fast!  Reminder, The Edit will be available starting March 1st at 5 a.m. PT.

We will update you with more info once we have it!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’m actually excited for this but I hope it’s not leftover from BoxyCharm because I already got that takeover box I already put it on my calendar kinda hate that it opens at 5am my time and wish I could just sign up for it and ipsy take out the payment on March 1st I have this feeling that it’s gonna sale out quick or the website with shut down because so many people are gonna login at the same time

Jessica, they don’t use Boxy left overs & vice versa. Though Ipsy bought Boxy out in 2020, they still operate independently of each other. There is a man (Mark something, I believe) that runs Boxy) If you get them both, you can see obvious differences between the two; particularly if you’ve been with with with them both for around 4 years. Ipsy is tanking. The only reason this edit is happening is likely bc the Addison X failed so miserably and so many people canceled; they needed a QUICK fix.

Would be interesting how independent they are since Boxy is starting to see Ipsy brands such as complex Culture. I can’t imagine Boxy paying Ipsy for these items that they sell on the cheap during their popup sales.

I don’t know about that, I watched an influencer who said she got the same multi purpose brush in Ipsy the month she got it after Boxy.

Ipsy is far from tanking. I mean they actually bought out Boxycharm, not something a tanking company could do. Also I’ve been with Boxy and Ipsy for a long time, before lux, before plus, they are very similar companies but Ipsy has better customer service and doesn’t trap you in a service (you can pause any time and switch between tiers easily).

I doubt that I’ll get the Edit, but I’d love another blush and will probably pick that up from Shopper if I like the shade. I was also bummed that I didn’t get that lip paint when they had it a bit ago, so maybe those will show up again.

Hi Carol,
Both Ipsy and Boxy offer Fenty fairly regularly (unless you’re only looking in your GB/GB+ and not shop. Keep your eyes on add-ons, shop & various variations of shop (I hope that makes sense!) One good place to try for Ipsy/Boxy past products is actually eBay. I know it sounds kinda ick, but they’re just people like you and I trying to make a little…I do mean a little money off of these products. It’s hard for them because so many people are selling the same thing. I’ve never gotten a lower than A- product on eBay, but that was typically bc of the packaging and usually Ipsy’s fault as many of us know.
I have a question for you about the edit: do you know if any of your subs (GB/GB+) bags must be active to get The Edit? It would be so helpful if you know. Thanks, Carol!! I pray you’re having a good week thus far😊💖

I’m moving away from makeup. What I now have is plenty if I choose to use it. This is an easy pass for me.

I’m glad this is in addition to X. There aren’t many brands that I want 7 products from. I like the variety of X. That said February’s X is looking rather disappointing so far. I also like the idea of being able to order an Edit if you want it, rather than having to skip or cancel if you don’t.

Meh, Ipsy seems really hyped about this, but Boxy Charm has had all these Fenty makeup products for what, like 2 years now?
Interested to see what new skincare stuff they include, but tbh I’m just not that excited for more skincare these days.

I was never much into skincare so I hope the majority of this box isn’t skincare. So far I only bought the Stunna Lip Paint from Boxy so I’m looking forward to this collaboration to possibly get more Fenty makeup.

P.S. Ipsy owns BoxyCharm.

Right, that’s been the case for a year now – so I’m hoping these are new products and not just a bunch of Boxy leftovers that are now being sold under the Ipsy subscription.
