Norlii is a $69.95 (+ $9.95 shipping) bi-monthly home subscription box filled with Scandinavian home decor and accessories. With the clean lines of Nordic designs and the warmth of the Danish hygge (a word that basically means a quality of coziness that creates a feeling of contentment), it's all about bringing a modern but comfy bit of Scandinavia to your home.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When I saw the MSA spoiler that shared this month's Norlii box would include a set of rocking glasses, I was excited — they looked gorgeous — but also a little nervous. Could a box filled with glassware make it across the ocean in one piece? Especially in a time when the whole shipping world is topsy turvy?

But not only was everything well-packed so not a single glass was broken, but the folks at Norlii definitely had "topsy turvy" world in mind. They themed this month's box around "balance" or rather the Swedish version.

Lagom is Swedish for "not too much and not too little," a perfect way to look at the start of any new year, but especially powerful in light of our current climate.

What's Inside the Box

This month's box had three different goodies packed inside with a total value of $150.

Norman Copenhagen Ring Box  — Listed Value $40

Norlii ring box

Made from powder-coated steel, this small ring box is an earthy sand color with a lid that's easy to pull off thanks to the golden ring at the top. That gold that adds a nice decorative touch. Although it's termed a ring box, I liked that it's wide enough to hold a lot more than rings! I am already using this as a catch-all on my bedside table for storing my bedtime earplugs (yup, there's a snorer in the house), bracelets I take off, and more! This little box is the medium size, but if you want to size up or down, the large and small are both available as add-ons for February 2022!

The ring box comes from Norman Copenhagen, a brand that is repeated in the next item.

Norman Copenhagen Rocking Glasses — listed price $25 for four

Norlii rocking glasses

Although they were the least expensive of the items packed in the February 2022 Norlii box, they were also my favorite. Look at how whimsical they are! Thanks to the specially curved bottom, the glasses rock from side to side — but don't worry, they're still sturdy enough to hold your drink without spilling. See what they mean by balance?

The glass is thick enough to serve up a nice espresso on a cold day or serve as a rocks glass for sipping bourbon on a weekend. The glasses all nestle nicely into one another for easy storage too — so despite the rocky bottom, they don't take up too much space in my cabinets.

Tivoli Circa Mobile — Listed Value $85

When I first opened the box to this mobile from the Danish brand Tivoli, I panicked as it looked like I was going to have to put it all together!

Norlii mobile in box

The good news is the mobile comes fully assembled — phew! — you just have to do a little finagling to get it out of the box. Made from stainless steel with a brass coating, the mobile is gorgeous and the brass catches the sun well. There's even a little hook included to screw into your ceiling, so you don't have to make a run to the hardware.

One warning: If you have low ceilings (like I do), you may struggle to find a good place to hang this mobile as it's big. I measured the mobile itself as about 25 inches tall, and that's not including the nylon string you hang it from, so add that height, and you have something that's a little tough for folks with older houses like mine. I did like that the string was included, and the mobile moves around the center, which offers a nice calming effect.

Norlii circa mobile

Despite the mobile being a bit hard to find a place for in a smaller home, it's a classic look that will work with a wide variety of decor styles.

Was This Box Worth It?

With items valued at $150 for the $69.95 box price, even when you add in that $9.95 shipping, you're still getting nearly double the box value for the price.

And I really loved the items packed inside – the ring box and rocking glasses were put to immediate use, and each item was well-crafted, not to mention well-packaged for that trip across the ocean!

This is a bi-monthly box…meaning that you get two boxes per month? I’m sorry to be the jerk to mention this, but it always gets me when I see “bimonthly” referenced as “every other month” when it technically means “twice a month “. Like, if you describe something as “biannual”, we know that means twice a year. Bimonthly does mean twice a month. I guess it’s easier to type “bimonthly” rather than “every other month”. Everybody does it, not just you guys.

FWIW, I love MSA and I love the reviews…except perhaps I do not always love how you guys post about so many great products that it makes me buy more stuff, lol. But I can say that MSA is the only reason that I now get my beloved Margot Elena and Pusheen boxes, and discovered the Keihl’s Advent Calendar that was so good that it became one of my favourite brands and I’ve reordered several full size products from them

Thank you for giving me a place to use my English degree, I try to do that a few times a year ha ha. I hope I didn’t ruffle feathers.

You make a great point! Bimonthly can mean both, and it can be a bit confusing :). I’ll make sure to make this clear in future reviews!

Actually, bimonthly can mean either twice a month or every other month. Context is needed to let readers know which one you mean. Merriam-Webster recommends using “semimonthly” to describe something that occurs twice a month.

The mobile would look great in a window.

When I open the curtains and the light catches it, it reflects really nicely … and my cat loves to watch it move!

I received my box this week and absolutely love the glasses. The little ring box is something I’ll use and I like the color. Not sure where I’m going to hang the mobile. I was waiting until this weekend to unbox it to just figure out how large it is. This was my one year anniversary box with Norlii and it is a sub box that I enjoy. December’s box was one of my least favorite, but I ended up falling in love with the advent candle and it became the focus on our mantle every night in December, so I do think Norlii does a great job curating the boxes — even if we sometimes don’t realize it at first.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who loved those glasses. They’re so whimsical and fun!
