BarkBox is a reader-favorite monthly subscription box for dogs for $35 a month + free shipping. BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the medium size, which is recommended for dogs 20-50 lbs. Murray, my 10-year-old Corgi-Maltese will be testing these products to let us know if this subscription is up to sniff... I mean snuff!
If you have a younger pup or just one who needs toys of the rough and tumble variety, I highly recommend trying the Super Chewer subscription (read our reviews to learn more!)
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impressions
The February 2022 'My Furry Valentine' box included three toys, two bags of treats, and a chew - this is close to what you can expect with your monthly subscription, though it does vary for everyone once in a while.
Sometimes, these items are marked as 'Sold Out' on the BarkBox app - but they have a little 'As Seen In BarkBox' section of the BarkShop where you can grab items featured in monthly themes.
Murray can sense when he gets a package, and he was literally pushing this one around my living room, practically begging me to unbox with him. Let's dig in!
What's Inside The Box
Clucky Jerky Cuts, 3 oz.
Clucky Jerky Cuts are the ideal treat for my little bud. His ears instantly perked up when he smelled this meaty treat, and once he got a taste, he couldn't resist the chewy texture. Ideal for sensitive tummies, this chicken treat is formulated with pumpkin, giving it a savory scent that even I thought smelled pretty good. Made and sourced in the U.S., I feel confident in the Barkbox brand to treat my boy with the best.
Wild eyed and in love.
Gobble Soft Bakes, 4 oz.
Turkey and berries, a combo fit for a king. I was impressed by the soft, texture of each biscuit, but Murray was the real judge. Of course, he loved these. Chewy, sweet, and savory, the perfect trifecta. Once again, this sack of treats is made and sourced in the U.S.

Yum!
Pet Luv Chicken Stick Recipe, 1oz
Murray enjoyed one of these chews and then treated himself to a second while my head was turned. He is addicted! Although this chew goes really fast, Murray seems to really enjoy them. I like that it is easy for him to break apart, and I don't have to worry about him choking on it. This stick is made in the USA and doesn't include soy, corn, or wheat, in case your dog may have sensitivities.
Teef!
Baby Cakes Toy
I'm sure you can predict already Murray's favorite part of this cake toy. Yes, it is the cherry on top. He also really likes the furry textured icing on top and the fact that he can use this as a pillow to rest his weary head. It is also very crinkly with a squeaker he can't quite reach but enjoys when mom plays with him.
My boy <3
Chocolate Slobber Strawberry Toy
How sweet! This toy has a spiky squeaker hiding inside this plush strawberry, topped with an irresistible crinkly stem. While this toy was a little harder to grab a hold of with his little mouth, Murray found a way to make fun with this pick by pushing it with his nose and grabbing it by the stem. I liked throwing it against the wall for him to chase after it bounced back toward him. He enjoyed pouncing on it when it stopped and delivering it back to me for another round.
Aww, my furry valentine is so cute with his little pink belly.
Cutie Cookie Toy
This was definitely Murray's favorite toy find this month. We love a 2 in 1 and can't resist the crinkly treat bag and squeaky cookie treat. He loved when I put my hand in the bag and pushed him around with the crinkly toy. He got so fired up that he had to grab the cookie and swing it back and forth, showing off for everyone in the room.
This is usually how a play sesh goes. He acts coy, gets a mild workout, then rolls over into a deep, snore-filled sleep.
Verdict
This month's BarkBox was lovely. It was fun discovering each of the cutesy finds together and pampering my little man with all of the delicious treats in this month's box. The customization for this box is perfect for Mur; the toys they choose for him each month keep him entertained and don't get me started on how much he appreciates the array of treats. If you are looking for a box to spoil your pup and also get your money's worth, this is it. If you're someone like me who hates to see nasty worn toys laying around the house, this subscription is an awesome way to keep your pup's toys in rotation and keep him guessing with each month's finds.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $35.00 a month + free shipping
VALUE BREAKDOWN
Since these products are all made by BarkBox, I was not able to get a retail value for each item. I received a total of six products this month, which averages out to about $5.83 for the $35 a month cost, which is a steal for the quality of each item. You would absolutely pay more for subpar products in a pet shop, making this subscription well worth its cost.
To Wrap Up
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! You can choose to start with February's "My Furry Valentine" theme or a mystery box.
