First Impressions

Everything comes neatly packaged and wrapped with tissue paper, sealed with a sticker. Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type (I can't believe how long I thought I had oily skin!). Also, PinkSeoul has now switched to electronic info sheets, sent to your email when your box ships. I always get a little excited when I rip the tissue paper/sticker to see what comes in my box - the extra step with the packaging really adds to the overall experience.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Enough Collagen Moisture Essential Mist, 100 ml - Retail Value $5

This mist is pretty basic - it's made with hydrolyzed collagen to add moisture to your skin, and not much else. I’m a big fan of using toners like this with a mist nozzle, and this was gentle and layered well.

Elizavecca Hyaluronic Acid Pure 100, 200 mL - Retail Value $38

This hyaluronic acid toner works really well as a follow-up after you apply the Enough Collagen mist- hyaluronic acid works best when you apply it to damp skin. This is formulated with just three ingredients- water, hyaluronic acid, and a preservative. It has a thicker texture than I was expecting (I would classify this as a juicy toner), and even though it starts out almost gel-like it melts immediately once I apply it to my skin. The main purpose of this is to hydrate skin, and when I used it I felt like it did its job.

Mary & May Centella Asiatica Serum, 1 oz - Retail Value $24

Centella Asiatica is one of my all-time favorite skincare ingredients, so a serum like this that's 95% Centella is going to make my skin and I very happy. This is a lightweight serum and I like to layer this with other hydrating serums. This is a little hydrating on its own, but Centella is amazing for soothing sensitive skin and irritation and keeping sensitive skin happy (it's also an antioxidant, too), so I always like to have it in my routine.

Benton Deep Green Tea Lotion, 120 mL - Retail Value $16

I really like Benton, but this wasn't one of my favorite products from them. The word lotion is in the name, but I would classify this more as a creamy serum-toner hybrid. The packaging choice was poor, as the thicker texture is hard to get out of the bottle and the plastic is too firm to be able to squeeze it. When the lotion is actually on my skin I like it, and I find it hydrated and soothing, but I don't know if it's personally worth the effort that comes with the bad packaging design.

Farm Stay Real Collagen Essential Lip Balm, 10 mL - Retail Value $6.03

I've used this lip balm daily since getting it, and I really like it. It has a thicker texture that reminds me of the lip sleeping masks I usually reach for at night, only with a mess-free application. It's hydrating and nourishing to my lips but also leaves a glossy finish thanks to the occlusive humectants in the formula, and overall I definitely consider this to be a winner.

SkinRx Lab MadeCera Real Red and Real Green Sheet Mask - Retail Value $2 each

I love the MadeCera masks from SkinRx Lab. Both masks feature ceramides and madecassoside, and the mask is made from 100% plant-derived material. The red mask includes beet, raspberry, and tomato extracts and the green mask has green tea, mung bean, and okra in the formula. The masks fit the contours of my face really well and did leave my skin slightly sticky once I removed them (this is easily fixed by following up with a moisturizer).

SkinRx Lab MadeCera Real Purple and Real Blue Sheet Mask - Retail Value $2 each

Even though the blue mask features hyaluronic acid, lava seawater, and blue agave while the purple mask features blueberry, passionfruit, and blackcurrant, the performance of both of these masks were pretty indiscernible from the other masks in the MadeCera line. That's not a bad thing to me, because my skin loves them. The masks are comfortable to well and leave my skin hydrated, and I know I can rely on them if I am dealing with a rosacea flare-up, too.

Key Takeaways

This month's box from PinkSeoul seemed to focus on hydrating layers - if I wanted to, I could use all of the products sent in this month's box in the same skincare routine, and I would just apply them in layers starting with the most lightweight (the Enough mist) and ending with the heaviest (the Benton lotion). I recognized all of the brands featured this month, and I loved that we received four SkinRx Lab masks. If you like receiving full-size products and discovering K-Beauty products, then this is a subscription box you should seriously consider checking out - I always have fun every two months when this arrives at my door.

Do you find this box has more or less full size items compared to Bomibox?

Hi Liz,
This box is always going to send full-size items, while Bomibox is a mix. Occasionally there will be a deluxe mini or travel-sized item, but if you’re wanting full-sized products only this is the box that will send them.
