Super Chewer is a reader-favorite monthly subscription box for dogs, customized to your dog’s size. For reference, THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE MEDIUM DOG SIZE; Murray (my 23lb Corgi-Maltese mix) will be reviewing this month's toys and treats to let you know if this subscription is up to sniff... I mean snuff!
Super Chewer is great for playful pups that are a little rough with their playthings. For $45 per month, you receive three toys, two chews, and two treats in every box.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impressions
The March 2022 'Madagascar Unleashed' box included three toys, two bags of treats, and two chews - this is pretty typical for this subscription, but after your first box, you can tailor the subscription more for your dog's needs.
What's Inside The Box
Crunchy Loops - Bacon and Cheese Recipe, 4 oz
Although Mur always prefers a chewy treat to a crunchy biscuit, he inhaled these without any hesitation. The bacon and cheese flavor must be extremely tasty because he thoroughly scavenged for any leftover crumbs. Farm-raised, USA bacon is the first ingredient followed by several other ingredients that I recognize and can pronounce; this is so important, especially in your dog's food where some companies like to squeeze in weird chemicals or preservatives that are not healthy for your pup.
Crunchy Biscuits - Chicken Recipe, 4 oz.
Farm-raised chicken is the first ingredient in these crunchy biscuits, and it is USA sourced. Of course, Mur couldn't resist these little chicken training treats; he was begging me for more and more. The combo of chicken and sweet potato left my buddy very content.
Love at first bite.
The Pet Gourmet Chew Stick Pumpkin & Honey Recipe, 1.35oz – Retail Value $2.49
I gave Murray this pumpkin and honey chew, looked away for maybe 30 seconds, and it was gone! I looked through the couch and all around the floor, but sure enough, he diligently ate that thing at record speed. He loves to munch on these; they are great for an extra-special treat, and they are also good for a dog's dental health.
Oh, lucky day!
Pur Luv Pork Stick Recipe, 1oz
This is a repeat chew for Murray, but he was happy to revisit it. He isn't picky when it comes to any treats, so no shocker that it was a total winner. He has a bad back so he rarely jumps, but he was trying to jump and dive to get his paws on these pork sticks. This stick is made in the USA and doesn't include soy, corn, or wheat in case your dog has sensitivities.
Chomp!
Kamora Chameleon Toy
I'm not sure what attracted Murray to this toy this month because he couldn't usually care less about nylon toys, but he just licked this lizard toy for a solid 30 minutes. I assume that its texture felt good on his tongue; I guess we will never know! This toy is BPA free, dishwasher safe, and it has a minty scent that may have allured Murray.
Boby Beetle Toy
This plump little cutie has some weight to it. You can tell it is a sturdy toy, just by lifting it. Murray loved pushing this thing about and pouncing on it when it was wobbling on its back. He can't quite figure out how to squeak it since it is so bulky, but there is a squeaker located in the beetle's belly. This is a natural rubber toy, so it is fun for your dog to chew; plus, it is BPA free and will bounce around a little bit so catching it feels like more of a game.
Baobob Lemur Toy
I think this natural rubber toy is so cute. I think the erect, furry tail adds a lot of possibilities to play with this toy; I know Murray had a hoot with it until...
Just look at the disdain on his face. Murray was immediately drawn to this toy because he loves plush toys the most. He swung it back and forth, and after he was pretty ramped up, he ended up hitting himself in the eye with it (doh!). I don't know about any of your pups, but Murray is one to hold a grudge. Maybe someday they will make amends, but that day is not today.
Verdict
This month's Super Chewer is an outstanding value for its $45 price. Murray is consistently pleased by all of the toys, but he especially loves his treats and chews. He cracks me up when we unbox this together; he will go straight for the chews, of course, then the bags or treats and they the toys. He gave all of this month's toys extra TLC this month, but he was especially grateful, no shocker here, for the foodstuffs. BarkBox's Super Chewer is a fantastic box with hardy toys for hardy chewers; you can feel the "built to last" quality in each toy sent out.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $45.00 per month + free shipping
VALUE BREAKDOWN
Since these products are all made by BarkBox, I was not able to get a retail value for each item. I received a total of six products this month, which averages out to about $7.50 for the $45 a month cost, which is a steal for the quality of each item. You would absolutely pay more for lesser products in a pet shop, making this subscription well worth the cost.
To Wrap Up
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! You can also choose to start with January's 'Mutt Mountain Slopes'.
