Shaker & Spoon has pushed back their Vodka Brunch box back and it will not be the April 2022 box. " This box was unfortunately delayed by supply chain issues but will be releasing in summer 2022," according to the brand's blog.
Therefore, their April 2022 box will be: "All Eyes on Rye"--and we have an exclusive MSA coupon.
The Deal: use code MSA10 to get $10 off your new subscription.
From Shaker & Spoon:
WITH ALL EYES ON RYE . . .
we couldn’t wait to see how a new generation of artful mixologists further fortified the roots of this robust spirit. Winter is always slow to turn into spring, but when you settle in and fix your gaze and palate on this whiskey, you can’t help being rye-minded: a fun and adventurous rebound is always right up ahead!
Every month, Shaker & Spoon gives you three bartender recipes and all the syrups, garnishes, bitters and other supplies you need to make 12 drinks--everything but the alcohol. In March, Shaker & Spoon is celebrating cognac! You'll get the recipes and supplies for the Baklawa Sour by Mony Bunny, the Creole Sling by Ryan Maybee and the Homestead Old-Fashioned by Spencer Warren.
1. Baklawa Sour by Mony Bunny
Mony welcomes you to the world of Levant and Mediterranean regional desserts with a lip-smacking take on a legend—the Baklawa Sour. The syrup tastes of honey, walnut, and rose and orange blossom waters and, along with an egg white for a luscious texture, it shakes up the sharp edge of rye into something considerably softer and brighter.
This drink is made with rye whiskey, lemon juice, baklawa syrup, egg white, and cardamom bitters
2. Creole Sling by Ryan Maybee
The street sign reads Bourbon, but Ryan Maybee is wandering through New Orleans with rye in mind. His Creole Sling takes the flavors of the area’s dark and nutty chicory-charged style of coffee and goes bold for bold with sturdy rye whiskey. But much like any good jazz number, just wait till the great nuanced notes come marching in from vanilla-cinnamon maple syrup, pecan, and uplifting, zesty orange.
This drink is made with rye whiskey, cold brew coffee, cinnamon + vanilla infused maple syrup, chicory pecan bitters and orange oil
3. Homestead Old-Fashioned by Spencer Warren
While the Homestead Old Fashioned is named for the rye-history-relevant borough on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, it’s also an apt indicator of the place it’s best enjoyed—your abode. What’s that? You’ve seen quite enough of your house over the past year? Granted, but it won’t be difficult after sipping this blend of baking spices, peppy peppercorns, and rye to imagine your once-familiar walls as those of the most cozy of cabin settings.
This drink is made with rye whiskey, winter spice syrup, black pepper bitters, orange bitters, orange oil and black cherry.
