Super Chewer is a reader-favorite monthly subscription box for dogs, customized to your dog’s size. For reference, THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE MEDIUM DOG SIZE; Murray (my 23lb Corgi-Maltese mix) will be reviewing this month's toys and treats to let you know if this subscription is up to sniff... I mean snuff!
Super Chewer is great for playful pups that are a little rough with their playthings. For $45 per month, you receive three toys, two chews, and two treats in every box.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impressions
The April 2022 'Jackpawt' box included three toys, two bags of treats, and two chews - this is pretty typical for this subscription, but after your first box, you can tailor the subscription more for your dog's needs.
What's Inside The Box
Soft Bakes - Duck/Veggie Recipe, 4 oz
Oh yeah, Murray was very excited about this soft, moist delicacy. He loves really any soft biscuit, but he's especially fond of duck. This treat is loaded with cage-free duck and wholesome veggies to keep your dog begging for more. The ingredient list is free from anything I can't pronounce, which is always impressive with dog treats, and Murray can't get enough.
Jerky Sticks, Pork Recipe - Chicken Recipe, 4 oz.
USA farm-raised pork is the first ingredient in these savory sticks. Murray loves jerky, and this stick format is easy to break off into little pieces if you're just using them for training treats. Murray loves these sticks, which are full of wholesome grains, pork and apples.
Best day, ever!
The Pet Gourmet Chew Stick Pumpkin & Honey Recipe, 1.35oz – Retail Value $2.49
Murray received this same chew last month; here are his thoughts about it then and now.
I gave Murray this pumpkin and honey chew, looked away for maybe 30 seconds, and it was gone! I looked through the couch and all around the floor, but sure enough, he diligently ate that thing at record speed. He loves to munch on these; they are great for an extra-special treat, and they are also good for a dog's dental health.
Another lucky day!
Pur Luv Pork Stick Recipe, 1oz
Murray also received this chew last month; here are his thoughts then and now:
This is a repeat chew for Murray, but he was happy to revisit it. He isn't picky when it comes to any treats, so no shocker that it was a total winner. He has a bad back so he rarely jumps, but he was trying to jump and dive to get his paws on these pork sticks. This stick is made in the USA and doesn't include soy, corn, or wheat in case your dog has sensitivities.
Chomp!
Dry Muttini Nylon Toy
Last month's nylon toy was coated in a peppermint smell/taste that Murray couldn't get enough of; he ended up licking this (instead of his paws! yay!) for the afternoon, and he is doing the same with this adorable Muttini toy. It is BPA free, dishwasher safe, and it has an apple scent which may have might have allured Murray into his licking fit. Then again, he has been known to lick the floor, cabinets, etc. as well, so you never know!
Haha, Murray was being a little camera shy. I can just hear him, "Mooooommmmm!!! No pictures!"
Texas Tug 'Em Toy
Tug of war toys always get Mur's playful motor revving. He really enjoys swinging and shaking this around and, of course, tugging it mercilessly until his brother Ronan or mom gives up. It is BPA free, and spot cleaning is recommended.
Look at that face!
Grabbit Trick Toy
I love the aesthetic of this toy. It is spooky; it is magical; it is packed with playful possibilities. The fabric is meant to be torn off, but before that happened, I thought I'd hook Murray up with a dapper accessory. This toy looks like something that Tim Burton could have designed. The bunny's teeth are meant to help clean your pooch's teeth while chewing. There is a squeaker inside, and you can put a few treats in there to reward him for his play.
A toy/fashion accessory all in one?! Yes, please.
Verdict
This month's Super Chewer is an outstanding value for its $45 price. Murray always loved BarkBox's treats. He is never disappointed by any repeated flavors; in fact, I think he prefers the familiarity. This month's theme, "Jackpawt", was adorable, and all of the toys kept Murray busy, especially the Texas Tug 'Em toy. BarkBox's Super Chewer is a fantastic box with hardy toys for hardy chewers; you can feel the "built to last" quality in each toy sent out.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $45.00 per month + free shipping
VALUE BREAKDOWN
Since these products are all made by BarkBox, I was not able to get a retail value for each item. I received a total of six products this month, which averages out to about $7.50 for the $45 a month cost, which is a steal for the quality of each item. You would absolutely pay more for lesser products in a pet shop, making this subscription well worth the cost.
To Wrap Up
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! You can also choose to start with January's 'Mutt Mountain Slopes'.
