First Impressions
The first thing I noticed about this box was that it was a bit delayed. That said, they are almost all caught up, woohoo! The theme for this box is ‘Glow,’ and I’m interested to see what products they have included to make me feel like I’m ‘glowing.’
What's Inside The Box
The box arrives with a card that lists the products and highlights some of the beauty brands found within. February's theme was 'Glow.'
PIXI BEAUTY Pixiglow Cake in GildedBare Glow, 24 g - Retail Value $28.00
Now, I know I’m not the most advanced at makeup, but I thought I had seen it all… However, I have never seen anything like this Pixi Beauty Pixiglow Cake in GildedBare Glow. The shades work perfectly for my skin tone, and I love the way each one seamlessly transitions into the other. All I did was swipe my brush through, and with or without makeup, it provides a beautiful glow with just a hint of color. This blush is easily buildable and blendable, and it’s super easy to control the amount of color. Of course, this product isn’t just a blush; each shade can be used separately, giving you a highlighter, blush, and a bronzer. I really appreciate how much this product consolidates the amount of makeup you need to bring when on the go.

LUCIE + POMPETTE Too Chic Lip Kit, 3-piece - Retail Value $22.00
These lip colors from the Lucie + Pompette Too Chic Lip Kit have a luscious fruity scent that reminds me of Grape Crush. The feather-light formula is smooth and creamy. It left my lips feeling delightfully hydrated, and what I really appreciate was that the product didn’t dry down and leave my mouth feeling encrusted. The product definitely stayed flexible on my lips and was comfortable for long-term wear. I enjoyed the shades and found them complimentary to my skin tone, especially Kiki. Now, the lip plumper was a bit much for me. I’ve never been very much into lip plumpers, and I’m not a huge fan of the tingling sensation they create. This lip plumper didn’t cause any pain, but the tingling sensation lasted for about ten minutes, and I found it to be irritating to me personally. The product did cause my lips to look juicier and a little fuller, so if that’s something that you’re looking for, this could definitely be an effective product for you. The kit also came in an adorable bag, which was an added bonus.
Here are swatches from the Lucie + Pompette Too Chic Lip Kit.
PROFESSOR HERB Natural Facial Oil in Natural Mint and Eucalyptus, 30 ml - Retail Value $26.41
Personally, I have semi-oily skin to begin with. While I know there are results out there that say facial oils in fact reduce oil production on the skin rather than create more, my skin says otherwise. For that reason, I’ve never been much of a fan of oil-based products in my skincare routine. However, this Professor Herb Natural Facial Oil intrigues me because of its all-natural ingredients, which include mint and eucalyptus. This oil, in particular, is said to kill bacteria and also promote improvement for acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and it even contains salicylic acid, which is naturally found in mint. Simply warm two drops of oil between your fingers and apply. I tried it on my stubborn eczema patches I get whenever I visit the cooler states in winter, and the mint provided a cooling feeling that I found both refreshing and soothing. While I might not use this oil in my skincare routine, I’m feeling hopeful about the long-term results.
NYAKIO Sweet Almond Cleansing Oil Balm, 109 ml - Listed Value $25.00
I love, love, love cleansing balms. This is the kind of product that works the best for me when it comes to removing every last speck of makeup. I’m psyched about the sizing of this balm, too. Since a little goes a long way, this is sure to last quite a while. After wearing makeup at the last event I attended, I gave this balm a try. I applied a small scoop from right out of the container, rubbed it on my face, rinsed well, and then followed up with a gentle cleanser. My face was completely free of makeup by the end of the cleansing routine. No more stubborn eye makeup left behind, hooray!
VOESH Cooling Knee-High Socks in Cooling Mint, 1 pair - Retail Value $24.00
Oh my gosh, I wish I had had these VOESH Cooling Knee-High Socks one day not too long ago after coming home from a long day of standing in heels. These ‘socks’ actually double as leg and foot masks, and they provide the most cooling sensation to your tired limbs. I wish I had an unending abundance of these. Putting these on felt like pulling on a blanket of relief. It was super easy to fit these to my legs, thanks to the handy stickers included within the pouch. I let my feet absorb the goodness for about twenty minutes and then massaged in the remaining product. It left behind hydrated, comforted legs and feet. I love that this product derives its potency from all-natural ingredients, including menthol, mint, cica leaf, and macadamia and argan oils. This is almost certainly something I will be repurchasing for myself in the near future.
Verdict
I really enjoyed this month’s The Beauty Box by Bombay & Cedar! Cleansing balm is a staple product that I always like to have on hand, so I was happy to receive the nyakio cleansing balm. I really appreciate how well it breaks down stubborn and waterproof eye makeup and leaves my face feeling fresh and clean. VOESH’s cooling socks were a new product discovery for me. I’ve used foot masks in the past but never anything with such a delightful cooling sensation that left my aching feet feeling revitalized. I also really enjoyed the shades and the delightful scent of the liquid lip colors included in the Lucie + Pompette lip kit, and the Pixi Beauty Pixieglow palette went very well with my skin tone and left such a radiant glow on my face. Lastly, I’m also really excited to give Professor Herb’s facial oil a shot at battling my stubborn eczema patches, and I was really impressed with their all-natural formula. Overall, I think this was a very good box. Bombay & Cedar definitely delivered value, and I found the diversity of products in the curation added to my enjoyment of the box.
