Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, hair care, and self-care, but they also released curated sets under their Sephora Favorites brand. They recently released their Vacay All Day All-Over Face Set, which features 10 summer must-haves and it is still available for purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This set comes packaged in a cute reusable blue bag that screams summer- it has little holes in it, so it reminds me of a bag you would put damp belongings in to dry. More information about the products inside can be found on the back of the paper packaging.

Every purchase from Sephora makes you eligible for two free samples, and every purchase over $25 also makes you eligible for a free GWP promo code. I chose to use the code that gave me a sample of the new Olaplex No. 9 hair serum.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Sephora

Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer, 4 mL – Estimated Value $7.20 (buy the 10 mL version for $18)

This primer by Milk is actually one of my favorites out there. I own the full-size, and I’m happy to have a mini for travel. It really makes a noticeable difference with how long my foundation lasts, especially in these hot and humid summer months. I’ve tried quite a few primers, but this is the one I keep coming back to using.

ILIA Blue Light Protect + Set Mist, 14 mL – Retail Value $18

I truly do not know if I believe that these setting sprays and mists can actually prevent blue light damage from computer and phone screams- it seems a little gimmicky to me. That being said, I still need a setting spray when I travel, and I really appreciated the quality of the nozzle of this spray. It felt like it was misting my face appropriately rather than hitting me in the face with a targeted stream, and I found this to be gently hydrating and refreshing.

Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream, 75 mL – Retail Value $16

I really like this hair care brand, but I hadn’t tried this particular product from them before. It’s made with argan oil and is designed to fight static and frizz while conditioning and hydrating your hair. My hair can be really finicky when I travel, and this isn’t quite as much of a nourishing heavy hitter that my curls need,  but it works well for me at home when I have my full arsenal of curl products at my disposal. If you have a different hair type, this would probably be more than sufficient for traveling.

The INKEY List Caffeine Eye Cream, 15 mL – Retail Value $9.99

if you’re looking for an affordable, lightweight eye cream the Caffeine Eye Cream by the INKEY List is a solid contender. It soaks into the delicate skin around your eyes quickly leaving hydrated skin behind, and I didn’t have any issues with eye sensitivities. This is formulated with caffeine, peptides, and jojoba esters, and I honestly used it as a face moisturizer in a pinch when I was traveling and enjoyed it for that purpose, too.

Tower28 Beauty ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly Gloss in Coconut, 3.9 mL – Retail Value $15

I haven’t heard really great things about the Tower28 ShineOn lip glosses, but this was the first time I was able to try them for myself. The shade coconut is a sheer rosy pink that was really pretty on my lips, and I loved how this felt like I was applying a thick, nourishing lip gloss with zero stickiness. Lip glosses are often a product I apply in the morning and then forget about for the rest of the day, but I made a point to reapply this after lunch because I enjoyed how comfortable and hydrating it was to my lips.

Summer Fridays Summer Skin Nourishing Body Lotion, 100 mL – Estimated Value $13.50 ( buy the 200 mL version for $27)

I’ve been wanting to try this body lotion- I really like the Summer Fridays brand and have heard nice things about this.  This had a really silky finish on my skin without being greasy, and I like that it’s formulated with ceramides and peptides. To my nose this didn’t have too much of a noticeable scent- maybe it smelled a little cocoa butter-esque mixed with vanilla? Whatever it was, it was mild and a non-factor for me.

tarte SEA Surfer Curl™ Volumizing Mascara in Black, 9 mL – Retail Value $24

This was a really solid mascara for me. I like that it gave definition to my individual lashes without making them look spidery or having them clump together, and I do feel like these gave my lashes a good boost of curl. Some mascaras look good on my top lash but get wonky when applied to my bottom lashes, but this one worked well for both. I wore it all day and had no issues with smudging, flaking, or eye irritation.

Here I am wearing the lip gloss and mascara.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++, 15 mL – Estimated Value $15 (buy the 20 mL version for $20)

If you've been into subscription boxes for a while, chances are that you've already tried this sunscreen. I've received it plenty of times, but I am still happy to have another travel-sized tube to add to my arsenal. I actually didn't love this sunscreen when I first tried it a few years ago- it has a silicone base that makes the texture super similar to the OG Smashbox Primer (and people usually love it or hate it because of that). But, it kept coming in boxes and I continued to try it, and now I really enjoy it. I like to use this sunscreen when I will be wearing makeup, and this will work as a primer for me while also protecting me from the sun.

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops in Medium, 10 mL – Estimated Value $10.67 (buy the 30 mL version for $32)

I am super pale, and since I burn so easily, I have embraced my pastiness rather than embarking on a constant journey for the golden glow that looks so wonderful on other people. I have used these Isle of Paradise self-tanning drops more than once before, though, and they really do work. You mix a few drops into your moisturizer of choice, and within 4-6 hours a sun-kissed glow will start to develop on your skin. Because you get to control how many drops you use, you get to control the intensity of your tan—and I find the product to be much easier to use compared to other self-tanners.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops, 5 mL - Estimated Value $4.25 (buy the 40 mL version for $34)

I'm not quite sure if I have fully figured out these dew drops from Glow Recipe yet. It's a niacinamide-infused highlighting serum designed to give your skin a glowy, radiant finish, and you can use it as a serum before your moisturizer or as the last step in your skincare routine. I think where this would work best for me is using it on the high points of my face, but I don't know if I am supposed to apply it before or after my sunscreen. When I tried this out I didn't find it to feel heavy or greasy on my skin, and I liked the light watermelon scent that faded quickly.

Here is the vacay all day set with me on my vacay!

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $44

Cost Breakdown:

  • Milk: $7.20 → $2.37
  • Ilia: $18 → $5.93
  • Moroccanoil: $16 → $5.27
  • The INKEY List: $9.99 → $3.29
  • Tower28: $15 → $4.94
  • Summer Fridays: $13.50 → $4.44
  • tarte: $24 → $7.90
  • Supergoop!: $15 → $4.94
  • Isle of Paradise: $10.67 → $3.51
  • Glow Recipe: $4.25 → $1.40

Sephora promised a value of $134 for this kit, and my math adds up to $133.61- that's close enough to the promised value for me to say Sephora met the promised value, and it's also more than three times the cost of the box.

Key Takeaways

I love a good Sephora Favorites set, and I thought this one was really well done. It had ten items in it so it felt like I was getting a lot of product, and five of the ten products were either full-size or the larger travel-sized. This set had multiple products inside that I had never tried before like the Ilia setting spray, Summer Fridays lotion, tarte mascara, and Tower28 lip gloss, and I thought the overall curation was very cohesive- all I needed to add was my own concealer and then I really had everything I need for a summery makeup look that wasn't too heavy on my skin in the hot weather. Overall, I was happy with this set and would recommend it if any of the full-size products interest you.

I received a full size bottle of the Watermelon Dew Drops in a BoxyCharm, and I use it as a serum. For me, I find that it gives a light luminosity on my skin that isn’t blinding if I just use it on it’s own. I really like the product, and I find it hydrating.

I also had to LOL at “phone screams”!

Just wanted to say that I got the Tower28 lip gloss in a previous Sephora collection, and really like it! Surprised to hear it’s gotten some bad reviews.

I got a Tower28 gloss in one of the Allure limited edition boxes and I love it. I’m not a gloss girl anymore, but I like that it’s not sticky or sparkly, it looks and feels really natural with a tint of color.

Same here. I’ve actually heard a lot of rave reviews about their gloss and no complaints.

OMG LOL, best typo ever: “computer and phone screams” – yep, my computer and phone often make me want to scream. 🤣🤣🤣 But on a serious note, I got this kit too and was excited to try the Summer Fridays body lotion, but I can’t get past the scent. 🙁 To me, it smells heavily of coconut, which I can’t handle and which I’m sensitive to.

Thanks so much for the review, Jessica! I hope you’re having or had a great vacation, btw! This looks like a nice assortment of products esp. for the bucks. I have been wanting to try the Isle Of Paradise Tanning Drops…As well as a new “luxe” or higher end mascara. &Tht Tarte Sea Surf Curl looks very interesting, as well as Ilia’s (which I haven’t tried anything from the brand but I need to…looks pretty solid!), also the Saie or Rare Beauty. Idk, there are so many ‘promising’ looking ones & paying over $20 for a mascara, for me, is a treat so I am doing my homework (so-to-speak), lol. And I have already made up my mind as soon as I am done w/my primer I am getting the Milk gripping primer definitely!

Jessica, I got that Tower28 lip in another box. The scent was so foul I threw it out. I was wondering if your’s smells of coconut? Maybe mine was old? I always heard great things about it so I am sadly not wanting to try the brand again right now.

Hey Jody,

I got the Tower28 lipgloss, probably in the same box you’re talking about. I thought it smelled strange too but I never trust my nose (long story lol). Ending up giving mine away but I liked how it felt on my lips enough to maybe try again in a different shade. Since someone else’s nose had a similar reaction though…hm.
