Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Anyone doing anything fun? I'm staying local, visiting some vineyards, enjoying the warm weather, and gallivanting around VA in my rentals. I love summer!

Forewarning that this will be a quick review since I didn't really get to wear any of the items. It was cold and rainy when I ordered them, and then suddenly it was too warm to wear most of them.

Mr. HGL is judging me a lot this week.

WHAT I’M WEARING THIS WEEK: Le Tote

Welcome back to What I'm Wearing This Week. For the newbies, every Friday on WIWTW I'll recap the clothing rentals I wore for the week. I’ll take you on a trip through my life, where I’m going, what’s missing in my closet, my current obsessions, what I’m excited to try, and maybe even buy. We’ll explore designers and trends, and a variety of styles and brands. And each week I’ll fill you in on why I chose each item, the total value of the rental compared to the retail price (as of today I've rented $1,687 worth of clothing on Le Tote), and more. For sizing reference, I am 5'11" with a 33" inseam and I weigh 140 pounds.

Le Tote is a fashion subscription service that lets you try a new set of on-trend separates, dresses, jewelry, and more on a monthly basis. You can keep the pieces as long as you’d like or return them to receive a new set of items, depending on your membership. There are membership plans that include one tote per month to unlimited totes per month. Le Tote features brands you know and love like Tahari, French Connection, Rebecca Minkoff, and Rachel Roy, and there's also a maternity option. You can rent up to 10 clothing items and 5 accessories per month and the sizing options range from XS to XXL, or 0 to 16, but currently, there's no tall, petite, or plus-sized option.

Just like other fashion subscriptions, when I signed up, I went through an extensive style quiz to gather information about my preferences and complete my style profile. You'll add information like your measurements, current sizing in different types of clothing, looks you love, and more.

Le Tote offers free shipping both ways. Items you order will be sent using 2–3-day priority shipping, and ground shipping is included when returning items to the warehouse. Le Tote ships to valid residences, hotels, P.O. Boxes, and commercial establishments in the contiguous 48 States in the USA; however, they do not ship to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO, or Alaska.

This is a review of the Unlimited Plan with 5 clothing items and 3 accessories for $79/month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

WHAT I RECEIVED

This time my Le Tote products arrived neatly folded and arranged in the branded box which made Mr. HGL hoppy. All of the items by Juicy Couture, En Saison, Walter Baker, Gabrielle Union, Vince Camuto, and Debbie Martin are in great condition.

THE GOODS

Walter Baker Puff Sleeve Floral Dress, Retail Value $124, Le Tote $88

How I styled it: I wore it with my Ferragamo Laser-Cut Leather Sandals and the Vince Camuto jewelry I also ordered from LeTote.

Size and fit: I got the medium and it was almost a perfect fit except it's a little wide in the waist. This lightweight dress features an artful floral print, puffed shoulders, a side slit, and button-front closure.

Condition: Brand new with tags.

Honest review: Maybe I should've belted it? To me it kind of looks like a fancy nightgown or a dress you'd throw on at night when you're on vacation at the beach. It's comfy but a little frumptastic.

Vince Camuto Chain Link Earrings, Retail Value $42, Le Tote $32, Vince Camuto Chain Link Necklace, Retail Value $50, LeTote $38

How I styled it: Obvi I wore the earrings and necklace with the Walter Baker dress.

Size and fit: Crafted in gold-tone mixed metal, these 1" drop earrings feature a classic chain link design with a post closure. The lightweight necklace is also rendered in gold-tone mixed metal with a lobster clasp closure. It's 16" long and features a 2" extender.

Condition: Great condition.

Honest review: Dainty and lightweight, these pieces by Vince Camuto are a great way to dress up your look without weighing you down.

En Saison Animal Print Vegan Leather Dress, Retail Value $130, Le Tote $88

How I styled it: Oh yeah, I wore the Vince Camuto jewelry here too and my Ferragamo sandals.

Size and fit: The fit calculator suggested I order a small and that was a great call. This faux leather midi dress features a cool snakeskin print, puffed shoulders, a cinched waist and back zip closure.

Condition: Great condition, but the lining at the neck needs to be sewn down or superglued into place as it kept popping out and looked messy.

Honest review: I posted this dress on Instagram and En Saison immediately commented which was really cute. I'm torn with this one though. It's definitely too warm to wear right now since it's basically made out of plastic, but I like the lines, the length, the print, and the puffed shoulders so I might revisit this dress in the Fall.

Gabrielle Union Faux Leather Fringe Mini Dress, Retail Value $99, Le Tote $60, Debbie Martin Abstract Garden Scarf, Retail Value $42, Le Tote, $34

How I styled it: I must admit I don't wear scarves and therefore have no idea how to tie them so that's why I was playing around with it. I know so many women who love and swear by scarves, but I've always felt like they add weight and bulkiness to my outfits (if tied around the neck) which is why I'd rather wear one as a belt or when pretending to be Jackie O. Since this faux leather dress is quite plain, I added the scarf for a dash of color and flair.

Size and fit: I got the medium and it fit like a faux leather glove. This sleeveless mini dress features side slit pockets, back fringe trim, and a concealed back zip closure.

Condition: Great condition. The scarf still had tags.

Honest review: I'm a creature of habit! The dress looks just like two other black dresses I already own, and if I committed to a scarf, I'd want something smaller and thinner.

Juicy Couture Tie-Dye Velour Hooded Jacket, Retail Value $99, Le Tote Price $75, Juicy Couture Tie-Dye Velour Joggers, Retail Value $99, LeTote $75

How I styled it: Y2K style is trending, and the Juicy Couture Velour Tracksuit is BACK. I never tried it on back in the early aughts and having the word "juicy" embellished on my a$$ made me shudder. Well, that's why I decided to rent it – to see what the hype is all about.  I wore it with a baseball cap I bought in Monaco, a Zadig & Voltaire tee, and a pair of Asics sneakers.

Size and fit: I ordered a small in both pieces because that's all that was available and – surprise, surprise –they're both small. The jacket features an attached hood, side slit pockets, and a full-zip front with the J pull. The pants have a ribbed waist and hem, a drawstring closure, and side slit pockets.

Condition: Great condition.

Honest review: I don't really get the hype, but I'm also not Gen Z or a Millennial. While this look was fun, it's not as comfy as you'd expect or hope a tracksuit to be.

DID THEY DELIVER?

  • What items were most helpful and versatile to own this week to ensure I got the most out of my rental and completed the look I craved? I didn't get much wear out of anything this week.
  • Did they meet or exceed expectations? I'm still on the fence. I wish they had more options for rent.
  • What’s the return process like? While they ship it in a branded Le Tote box or bag, they include a return bag that's pre-labeled so all you need to do is put your items in the bag, seal it up, send it out, and recycle the box. Easy!

FINAL THOUGHTS

This weekend it'll be a year since I grabbed Mr. HGL, packed up my life, and moved out of a dangerous situation. It's been a stressful, scary, and difficult time, but I can't imagine what our life would be like today had we stayed.

There's almost always light at the end of the tunnel ...trust your gut (you know that feeling and it never lies), fight your battles and keep moving forward!

CAN YOU STILL GET THIS BOX IF YOU SIGN UP TODAY? Yes, all these items are still available to rent.

VALUE BREAKDOWN: The 5 clothing and 3 jewelry items plan costs $79/month and so far, I've received styles with a retail value of $1,687!

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.

Snow

What a great read with my morning daily low FODMAP smoothie (don’t ask). I look forward to this post each week! Besides the awesome fashion, I enjoy your frankness, honesty, and openess. It’s great hearing how people overcome adversity in their lives. We are stronger than we sometimes think! ☺️ BTW, I always wanted to try one of those track suits, but for the very reasons you mentioned, it just never happened. Renting one makes way better sense lol.

Hi Snow! One day I’ll write about what happened, but I sure did learn a lot of lessons really quickly. The Juicy tracksuit is not on my shopping list.

I’m glad you were able to leave and live a safe life you love.

Thank you, Bran. Whenever I tell people what I went through, their jaw drops. It could be a Netflix (or Dateline NBC) show for sure, but it was my real life and it sucked.

As always, I love your reviews. The fringe dress is my favorite! Good for you for getting out of your bad situation and making a new life for yourself. I’m trying to do that right now but it’s very difficult, so it’s always hopeful to hear of successful women I admire who have done the same. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

I’m glad you recognize that you need to get out. TRUST ME it doesn’t get better, and they will not change. Have a place to go, alert friends and family, report the person to your local law enforcement, and have that mapped out long before you leave. And when you leave, make sure it’s when they’re out of town. Restraining orders don’t help and actually make things worse, but the threat of one can help. Check your car, phone and laptop for bugging devices and beware of the Apple Air Pods that can be used to track your whereabouts. And remember, you did nothing wrong… you just attracted the wrong type of person. And again, it will not get better, and they will not change.

Great review as always. I liked how you played around with the scarf. It is so pretty and colorful.

Thanks, Jody! I watched a tutorial on wrapping and tying the scarf and I gave up. Decided to play with it instead.
