Dia & Co is a monthly plus-size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia & Co, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes, and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five items that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 25% discount is applied if I chose to keep all five items too!
The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co may be entirely different than mine!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).
First Impressions
That Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month now comes as a sleeve.
Enclosed is an awesome message from Team Dia & Co! I selected all the pieces of this month. Since I picked all the items this month, I got a generic, but kind note from Dia & Co reminding me I always have the option to choose my own items or hand over the reigns to one of their equipped stylists too.
There's also an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item we selected along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. The total would be $425.90. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $319.42! The savings would be $126.42 if I did decide to keep everything! That would be like getting either of the Eloquii brand dresses for free -- that's pretty awesome!
Now for the fashions!
Miranda Halter Maxi Dress by Eloquii, Size 22-- Listed Value $124.95, On Sale for $74.95
If you keep up with my reviews, you probably have seen me rave about the Eloquii brand. It is my absolute favorite plus size brand out there! They are always churning out unique, sophisticated, playful, yet retro inspired pieces that speak to my soul! I spied this dress on their site and fell in love, but held off in hopes of one of their major sales. I missed it on the site, but fortunately was able to score it to review for this month's Dia & Co selections. YES! The color scheme and pattern is so perfectly 70s. It reminds me of the wall paper in Dawn Davenport's home in the iconic John Waters' film, Female Trouble. Not quite the same, but it gives those vibes! The material is incredibly stretchy, but was thinner than I had expected. Luckily, though the material is thin, it is not transparent, thank goodness! I honestly was feeling myself in this dress in a major way and I cannot wait to wear it for a special event. I styled it with faux wood platform heels and lime green flower power earrings from Holly Hocks Jewellry on Etsy to bring the whole ensemble together.
Bella Wrap Dress by Loralette, Size 22/24-- Listed Value $69, On Sale for $45
I never steer away from a variety of colors and this dress is no exception. I don't know why, but it reminds me of UMBRO shorts or an Olympics Logo from the 90s-- maybe just the 90s itself? I can't pinpoint it exactly, but I am still loving this prism like rainbow of colors! Can you be unhappy in a piece like this? Highly unlikely. this dress is a true wrap dress, which I always struggle getting on my body without fail. The fabric has limited stretch, so it was like trying to figure out a puzzle getting on this dress. It was worth trying to decipher how to get this cutie on-- look at those ruffles and the sleeves! The sleeves might be my favorite part-- I love how they look when you extend your arms! This is perfect to wear for upcoming graduation parties and summer family events. I did some simple styling and completed this ensemble with my new go-to jellies from Torrid and Juno Birch earrings from Gloss and Shimmer. Yes, it's happening, darlings!
Stella Maxi Dress by Eloquii in Orange, Size 22 — Listed Value $124.95, On Sale for $74.95
Did I mention my love of Eloquii earlier? Let me mention it again because I picked out another killer dress from the brand! I won't lie to yinz, I really was concerned this dress wouldn't fit. It is a smidge tighter in the back than I would prefer, but I actually love how this looks! The fabric has no stretch, but it is meant to have this beautiful, ethereal, retro inspired look to it. I could envision my mom wearing this in a beach photograph in the 70s-- maybe that is why I love this piece so much? The electric orange shade is absolutely gorgeous, the material is so lightweight and perfect for hot summer weather. I truly felt like kitschy royalty in this number! I completed the look with Torrid black platform sandals and Divine earrings from my friend's shop, Electric Cat Shop.
Marielle Printed One Piece by Avenue in Orange, Size 22— Listed Value $99, On Sale for $66
I have eyeballed swimsuits in the past from Dia & Co, but felt this one was necessary! I generally gravitate towards two piece suits, but I couldn't resist the charm of this wild beauty. The fit is perfect, it hugs my curves like a dream, but doesn't feel too tight either. This swimsuit is something Peg Bundy would wear sunbathing in the back yard, lying on a vinyl lawn chair with a cigarette drooping from the corner of her lips. Minus the smoking, I can envision myself doing a lot of the same in this suit, just slathered in 70 SPF and hanging out in my cousin's pool. I had to up the rock'n'roll vibes of this perfect tiger print swimsuit with silver hoops, platform sandals from Torrid, and red heart shaped sunglasses. You can't feel anything less than fierce in this suit, yinz!
Kathleen Denim Legging by Marc NY, Size 3x — Listed Value $65
I selected the Avenue swimsuit thinking I could also wear it as a bodysuit, so I wanted to find bottoms that would complement them perfectly for summer nights. These leggings were the ticket! Usually, I am not keen on faux denim pieces, but these somehow work? When I initially saw these leggings, I was concerned they wouldn't fit. I kept having images run around in my head that they wouldn't get past my thighs. Luckily, not only do they fit, but these leggings are ultra soft and comfortable. I know these will be my go- to's all season because of how easy they are to wear. They look great styled with the tiger print suit, but will look great with a cropped, vintage novelty shirt and sneakers or a sleeveless blouse tied at the waist and sandals. The options are endless!
Verdict
This month's Dia & Co initially was sent to me with all selections from a stylist, Mary W. I sadly was not able to fit in a single thing that was issued. I returned every piece sent to me, updated my size preferences, and then ordered a new box with all the items you are seeing in this review. I am glad that Dia & Co has such a phenomenal return/exchange policy. Mary did select a lot of cute pieces, but not to toot my own horn-- I preferred the ones I selected in place of what she had sent me. Not only does everything fit me physically, but every single item this month brought me joy! I felt beautiful in every single replacement item.
Regardless of the fit problems I had, I do enjoy having my stylist take the wheel as well! I absolutely love collaborating, providing ample feedback, and allowing myself to be surprised by my stylist! I usually write up a quick paragraph along with sending links to my Pinterest and IG. The purpose of providing those links is to help show my stylist how I look, what style clothing I wear, and how I prefer the fit of said clothing. It also allows my stylist to have a window into the kind of lifestyle that I lead. She can see if I am a social butterfly or a homebody, if I work from home or in an office environment, or if I even travel a lot or having an upcoming special occasion. This will help your stylist determine whether you need more lounge wear pieces or more business casual pieces, for example. I also like to go through the Dia & Co site and create favorites folders to go back to when I pick out pieces each month. This directly tells my stylist what appeals to me on the site itself.
As I mentioned before, you can choose all five pieces for a styling box, but did you also know that Dia & Co offers styling services for activewear, intimate pieces, and now swimwear too? This is perfect since summer is right around the corner! You also can forgo a styling box altogether and buy pieces directly from the site. All of these options allow you to skip going to the mall and have these killer fashions delivered directly to your door step. With Covid cases on the rise again, it is nice to have such a convenience. Another thing I remind folks about is that you are able to accrue points from styling box and direct purchases that you can use towards purchasing additional items as well! I absolutely love Dia & Co and all the ways they allow you to use and enjoy their service. Are you as excited as I am to see what I get next month?
