The Products
This box delivered five amazing products from this wonderful brand.
Let's dive in!
Skin Essence Organics: Soothe Facial Moisturizer, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $32
This box started off with a bang. I am obsessed with this moisturizer. It is absolutely an oil sort of deal, but even if you prefer cream moisturizers, give this one a chance. It has a soft and earthy smell that is really pleasant, with notes of sage and sweet grass. It also has a simple but wildly nourishing ingredient list: jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil, rosehip seed oil, and borage oil. These are combined with soothing calendula, antioxidant-rich vitamin E, sage, and galbanum. For me, this is light enough for daytime wear, but if you are on the oily side, try this as a nighttime treat right before bed. You will wake up with soft and calm skin!
Skin Essence Organics: Calming and Toning Facial Mist, 4 oz - Retail Value $29
I. Love. Mists. I do! And as someone prone to redness, seeing the word "calming" on a mist means I already love it. I used this straight on my face for a little pick-me-up during the day (it also adds instant dewiness!) but my favorite way to use mists like this is in a mask cocktail. You can actually do that with another item that arrived this month, but more on that later. So what is the point of a toning mist? Well, if they are formulated well, they balance the pH of your skin, add moisture, and just feel really nice. They are also great for setting makeup, adding dampness to the face before a serum, and thinning out heavier moisture creams. This formula consists of a blend of hydrosols from rose, calendula, lemon balm, and cucumber. These are combined with witch hazel to make a really lovely mist that anyone could enjoy. And, yes, it smells as amazing as it sounds!
Skin Essence Organics: Pure Gentle Facial Cleanser, 4.05 fl oz - Retail Value $27
As someone who generally prefers a cream or oil cleanser, I was still curious about this brown sort of gel formula. Could it get my face clean without stripping it and making it feel tight? Well, it sure did. I expected it to have a scrubby texture because of the brown particles inside, but it didn't at all. Those brown bits are ground-up comfrey root powder which is a natural anti-inflammatory. The other ingredients in this non-comedogenic formula include glycerine, jojoba oil, and calming blue chamomille. It also has saponified sunflower and coconut oils. I loved its faint herbal and earthy scent and thought is was wonderful to use. I am thrilled with this large glass bottle!
Skin Essence Organics: Facial in a Jar, 50 mL- Retail Value $21
I first tried this product way back in 2021 in the See New January/February box. And I still really love it! It arrives as a dry powder consisting of oat powder, marshmallow root powder, jasmine flowers, white clay, stevia, cornmeal, and green tea. Adding water to it creates a greenish-brown clay texture that is best applied with a brush. I highly recommend getting adventurous with your mixture though. Add in some of the toning mist from earlier in this review, or even some of the rosehip seed oil which we will discuss below! It is very easy to customize this experience exactly for what your skin needs. If you are feeling oily, use water or witch hazel and let it dry on your skin before rinsing. Need moisture? Add in some oil and maybe a little honey for a skin-softening experience that will leave you dewy!
Skin Essence Organics: Rosehip Seed Oil, 15 mL- Retail Value $15
If I was stuck on a desert island, rosehip seed oil is likely the skincare essential I would choose. Well, that and SPF. But I really, really love rosehip seed oil. This little bottle does it all! You can actually cleanse with this. Just add it to dry or damp skin, massage, and rinse! Clean and calm. Because you can leave this on as a moisturizer, it also makes a great makeup remover too. Apply, wipe with a damp cloth, and then massage in the leftover oil. It makes a great cuticle oil and even a lip moisturizer in a pinch! Because it contains a high level of antioxidants, using it over time is great for anti-aging and skin firmness.
Verdict
See New: The Skincare Box just always delivers such an immersive experience. It's such a treat to get a whole little routine in the mail. And, for myself, it has been an extra blessing as I am now splitting my time between PA and TN now more than ever. Instead of dragging all of my skincare to and from, I am building a second set to use at home! And products like the ones included this month are absolutely perfect for this. I love knowing I will have a solid routine regardless of where I lay my head these days. Unless my mom ends up using everything while I am away! The total value of this month's curation lands at $124 which is a nice value for a $56 box.
