First Impressions
The first thing I noticed about this box is that it was quite late, yikes! But nevertheless, with this box’s intriguing theme of ‘Spotless,’ I’m super excited to find out what products were selected for this month’s curation.
What's Inside The Box
The box arrives with a card that lists the products and highlights some of the beauty brands found within.
EYEKO Double Act Shadow Stick in Cookies and Cream, 2.98 g - Retail Value $25.00
I am in love with this Double Act Shadow Stick from Eyeko. I received ‘Cookies and Cream.’ The darker shade is a warm golden brown, while the lighter of the two is more of a champagne cream. Both of these work perfectly for my skin tone, which I appreciate, and I love how silky smooth the formula is. There is a slight shimmer to the lighter shade, so it really helps to make your lids pop while being subtle enough for a natural look. I love how smoothly this formula glides across my lids. It feels super comfortable on the delicate skin of my lid, and it is wonderfully compact, which is great for summertime travel. When I applied this shadow, I was very pleased with how easy it is to blend with your fingertips. For all-day wear, I would definitely recommend using some eyeshadow primer if you have slightly oily skin like myself, but otherwise, I’m impressed with this for sure. The formula doesn’t cake up whatsoever, and you can do a whole eyeshadow look in a pinch with just this little stick if you need. I’m very happy to have this in my makeup arsenal.

CAPREA MiShot: Anti-Pigmentation with Kakadu Plum, 20 ml - Retail Value $48.53
This MiShot: Anti-Pigmentation serum from Caprea is super interesting. I’ve never heard of this brand before, so I’m very excited to try it. The first thing I noticed was that the product itself comes in a box that is 100% plantable. As a serum, the product has literally no scent at all, which I am over the moon about (I’m sensitive to scents), but not only that, I’m always looking for skincare that has an emphasis on fading hyperpigmentation. I used to be a picker during my acne years, and in later years, those past mistakes came back to bite me, so I’m interested to see if this serum will help even out my complexion over the long-term. When I applied this serum, I was surprised to find that the texture was more of an oil. This at first alarmed me because my skin doesn’t usually play nicely with oily products; but I have to say, it’s working really well for my skin. It absorbs rather quickly and leaves a slightly tacky feeling that helps to more thoroughly absorb the moisturizer that I put on afterwards. Since this product is meant for nighttime use, I feel like the tacky nature plays into holding more moisture into my skin. Some other night creams leave me feeling greasy, but this nighttime serum allows me to wake up with my skin feeling fresh, buoyant, and luxuriously hydrated.
DAVIDS Travel Peppermint Toothpaste, 50 g - Retail Value $4.95
I’ve received Davids Peppermint Toothpaste in other subscription boxes before, and I always enjoy it. I love that the formula is all-natural but helps with whitening, anti-plaque, and fresh breath. Clean ingredients are important to me when it comes to formula but so is the efficiency of the formula itself, and this toothpaste has it all. I love the recyclable metal tube this comes in, and it has a wonderful taste of peppermint that I enjoy. It always leaves my teeth feeling fresh and clean, without the harsh taste and chemicals of traditional toothpaste. Plus, the tube really does last quite a long time since a little goes a long way.
NURIA Overnight Recovery Cream, 50 ml - Retail Value $36.00
I love Nuria products. I’ve never had the pleasure of trying this Overnight Recovery Cream, so I was excited to see this included in the product curation. Even though it’s called a ‘cream,’ I have to say, it’s definitely not as creamy as I expected. In fact, it’s a super lightweight product, and it takes a little extra time to absorb but it absorbs FULLY without leaving behind any kind of greasy, sticky feeling on my skin. It’s packed with powerhouse ingredients like seaweed and brown algae, both of which work overnight to prevent environmental damage to your skin. Its spa-like scent smells amazing, too. When I applied this to my skin as the last step of my nighttime skincare routine, it felt so cool and refreshing on my skin and when I awoke, my skin was silky smooth and definitely looked more radiant than usual. I’m a huge fan and already thinking about purchasing this in the future…
FARMSKIN Missing Puzzle Piece Soaps - Listed Retail Value $7.00
Now, I’m not a fan of bar soap; like, not even a little bit. But these Missing Puzzle Piece Soaps are SO adorable that they almost changed my mind. These are absolutely perfect for anyone who loves bar soap. The pieces attach together seamlessly, which I think is really cool. I love how each of the pieces have different uses based on the various scents and ingredients. I received mango (nourishing), charcoal (purifying), carrot (pore care), and cranberry (plumping). Another plus for me is that these soaps are actually made from olive oil, which means no chemicals or other harsh ingredients that can potentially strip or irritate skin. I’m going to be passing along this entire set to a friend because I think these soaps are absolutely adorable and they deserve to be where they will be appreciated.
Verdict
I thought this was a great month for The Beauty Box by Bombay & Cedar! The highlight for me was definitely the night cream from Nuria. I love how the texture was a cross between a cream and a gel. Caprea’s anti-pigmentation serum was a surprise for me too. Even though it felt a bit like an oil, it absorbed like a serum. Eyeko’s dual-ended eyeshadow stick is my favorite new thing, and I’m so excited to have it in my makeup arsenal. I’m happy that David’s toothpaste was included; a great tried-and-true product. Lastly, the puzzle piece soaps are absolutely adorable and I’m happy that my friend will be able to enjoy them. Overall, the product curation in this box was on point, and the value was definitely there.
