As someone who has been shaving since middle school, you would think that I would have my routine down by now and that I would have found a favorite razor that I have been consistently using for years, but alas, this is not the case. I definitely have some brands that I prefer over others and I have dabbled in the new subscription razor world, but I have yet to find one that I was willing to use exclusively and subscribe to on a monthly basis. I was definitely interested to see what All Girl Shave Club had to offer and I was eager to get started with their starter kit plus some fun add-ons!

Everything was packaged so nicely with lots of pink sizzle paper, my add-ons at the top, and a big "thank you for your order" card. Underneath the extras was my starter kit box.

Rose Gold Handle (and Safety Cover) in Poppin' Purple

The main item in our kit is this rose gold razor which comes with your choice of either a pink or purple rubber grip. It really is so pretty for a razor and what makes it feel even more luxurious than the shiny gold is its hefty (for a razor) weight. It does not feel flimsy or cheap, but instead, it feels like a quality razor. The weight is also supposed to help with precision and control and the flexible head helps to navigate curves.
Razor Blades (and Safety Cover)

The starter kit came with a set of 4 razor blade cartridges, each of which has 6 diamond-coated blades for a close, yet gentle shave. There is also a lubricating strip with Vitamin E and Aloe, and the top of the razor features a bikini trimming blade. The safety cover is very basic, but it does the trick!
Glitter Shave Tote

I really love the design of this little tote! Not only is the glitter fun and the message positive, but it has a ton of little snaps so that you can open it up to easily clean it out. It also fits our razor and refill cartridges perfectly inside making it safe for travel!
The Subscription
When you sign up for your subscription they will ask you how often you shave which will help determine how frequently blades are sent to you. You will receive 8 refill cartridges for $20 and can choose intervals of 2, 3, or 4 weeks. You can also skip or cancel at any time or even swap out your blades for shave butter if you need to, so there is a lot of flexibility within the subscription, too. We'll also talk more about shave butter and other add-ons in just a minute!
Performance
So how did it do? Here are my notes:
- Loved the weight of the razor - it was a tiny bit slippery still, even with the grip, but not so much that I could drop it.
- Handled curves well - I felt like I could speed-shave and I wouldn't cut myself.
- I didn't experience any tugging or razor burn (the bikini trimmer worked well for me!).
- I was left with smooth skin and a close shave that was very comparable to my current razor (I tested one leg against the other!).
- I thought it was easy to swap out the blade cartridges and the cartridge stayed put during my shaves.
Add-Ons
Whipped Shave Butter in Pink Champagne, 3.25 oz. - Retail Value $10 with subscription, $12 for one-time purchase

Now, let's talk about those add-ons! First up we have their whipped shave butter. This can be added on each month for $10 or you can make a one-time purchase for $12. They offer 6 different scents (including unscented) that you can switch between each month, or you can select the "Surprise Me!" option if you're feeling daring! They also offer limited edition scents throughout the year like their fan favorite, "Pumpkin Delight." The shave butter contains bentonite clay to help with razor burn along with shea butter and avocado oil to add moisture.
I received the Pink Champagne scent and I thought it smelled slightly fruity with the fizzy scent of champagne. It was pleasant and not overpowering at all. The consistency of this butter was pretty thick so just a bit went a long way. I could see this jar lasting me a long time! It worked really well with the razor and did not gunk it up at all, which was a concern I had.
Pre-Shave Scrub in Tahitian Coconut, 4 oz. - Retail Value $12 with subscription, $16 for one-time purchase

This last item is brand new to All Girl Shave Club and I was lucky enough to get to try it before its release. This is actually probably my favorite item that I received. Made in the USA, this scrub not only smelled amazing (think fresh tropical coconut with a hint of vanilla), but it felt so great as a leg scrub! But I admit, I am super partial to the leg scrubs you get during a pedicure. I wasn't sure whether I should use this in conjunction with the shave butter or not, but I tried it both ways and I am happy to report that this performs wonderfully on its own.
Made from ingredients like sugar, sunflower oil, shea butter, rice bran oil, coconut oil, and vanilla bean powder it was the perfect consistency to exfoliate my legs in preparation for my shave and the oils kept my skin from feeling too dry. The coconut is actually supposed to be anti-inflammatory to help protect your skin and soothe ingrown hairs, too! I gave my legs a nice scrub, then rinsed it off before shaving. The razor glided smoothly and while it did get gunked up a little, a quick rinse was all it took to clear it. My legs felt smooth and hydrated afterward and I felt kind of pampered, too!

I thought that the value was great for the starter kit. The pricing, in general, is very comparable to other razors on the market, and in this case, we received a razor handle, safety cover, 4 blade cartridges, and a cute bag to store them in all for just $20 with free shipping!
