I snagged one too! This is actually a great deal — bags like this tend to go for around $25 just for the bag. Getting the rest for around $10 is pretty impressive; I was considering it even before they released the last batch of spoilers.

I’ve never used the swap thing on this site, it seems pointless to pay for postage for items I can truly live without or just buy what I want on apps. I see hundreds of sub box products for sale everywhere. The items I don’t use from my subs are either given to the unhoused or given away on my Facebook group. I only sub 2 boxes.

Yeah, I never really understood it either. I really don’t have that much stuff that I don’t use and it’s mostly samples anyway, so it’s easier to donate or give to friends.

Melissa

It’s not “mostly samples” if you subscribe to the right boxes. 😉

T. Smith

I snagged one! I will use everything, except the blush stick. Btw, ladies…there are a lot of trade pages on Facebook and if you are a member of FFF, there are trade threads on the forums.

I’m a subscriber. Didn’t get an e-mail with a link to this box, and can’t find it anywhere on their web site as of noon ET. Anyone have any better luck?

Kelly

Success! It finally popped up on the web site. So all is good.

Here’s the bummer- I would have purchased this box, through the MSA link (which would have brought a commission to MSA). But since the swap site is closing I’m no longer willing to make a purchase and risk not liking a big portion of the box. Because now I won’t have the opportunity to swap away the items I don’t want. I have the feeling that there are ALOT of others that will be like me. This decision is not only going to cost MSA in lost site traffic/ads (a huge portion of the traffic was through swaps) I believe there is going to be a HUGE drop in commission income to MSA because reader just won’t be willing to buy as many boxes, because we can’t swap what we don’t like. This decision baffles me- I truly think if they go though with shutting down swaps it’ll be the beginning of the end of MSA.

A few years ago, I had so many sub boxes. Everything from FFF and Causebox to Ipsy, Allure, and Margot Elena. I tried so many and then after a year or so, I was on product overload. So, I started doing fairly large swaps to obtain my fav products like a dry oil I loved that was over $60 retail, a special candle called Summer of 1982 from the ME box, and a CauseBox poncho I wanted in every color to cozy up in. It worked so well for me because it often seemed that products I didn’t need – like certain skin care products or home goods – were in demand by people who had exactly what I needed. The shipping was pricey at times, but worth it to get luxe products I missed out on, really wanted multiples of, or couldn’t be purchased because they were only available in the sub box.

I stopped subbing for awhile because I had way too much stuff and 2020 was a bit scary not knowing how the economy would be impacted. Now, my only box is Fortune Cookie Soap.

I decided to comb through MSA again to pick 2 boxes to sign up for and so much has changed with the site and some boxes don’t even seem to exist now.

Because swaps worked out so well for me, I am rethinking subbing to boxes. I might pick one, but no way will I get the volume I had.

I know I could sell the unwanted items, but that never appealed to me. I met such nice people swapping. It seemed like we frequently threw in extras for each other that made getting the swaps almost like getting a mini sub box.

So, that was a long-winded way of saying that I’m sad this feature is going away. If I do sub for boxes, I’ll go through MSA, but without swaps, I may just watch TikTok beauty gurus and treat myself to what seem like the best new products.

MSA – Please reconsider doing away with swaps. Thanks!

I’ve been a member since swapping began and I’ve never really used it that much. MSA is going to be fine without the swapping option. There are still other swap sites out there, plus you can always donate the samples you don’t want.

I’ve never gotten into swapping. Packaging and sending things seems like so much trouble and postage isn’t exactly cheap. Whatever I don’t want from my Ipsy and Margot Elena boxes and some other random boxes I buy, I let my friends pick through (they do the same for me, so I guess we’re swapping in a sense). Decent size shampoos, soaps, and those weird charcoal toothpastes get dropped off at the homeless shelter.

Why not just sell the unwanted items on Poshmark, Mercadi etc? Swapping requires mailing something so getting paid sounds like a good option to me.

Melissa

Well, MissAnn, with *swapping* you are able to get something that you want that came from a subscription box. Yes, if you sell the items, you might be able to find the item you want for sale somewhere and then purchase it, but I’ve had trouble finding some items that I want for sale.

Melissa

I totally agree. Will definitely be purchasing fewer boxes and visiting the site less frequently.

I just looked at this new site but it’s not associated with MSA so whoever created it is looking to be paid somehow. I’m not into paying to swap whether it be per swap or monthly fee. There’s several other free sites on FB that requires no money.

Becky King

Have you seen the new proposed swap site “mysubscriptionswaps.com” that they say is “coming soon!”?

Peggy

With swaps closing, my plan is really to avoid this website after July 31. If swaps reopen, I’ll return.

Kristin

I just want the bag!

Nan

Me, too!

Unfortunately with swaps closing I can’t get rid of the products 😢

missann

Eh, not an incentive I can’t live without.
