First Impressions
My pieces arrived in a larger lavender box with tissue paper and were individually wrapped in plastic bags.
Now, on to the lingerie!

I ended up selecting this month's VIP box assortment which included three pieces inside for one member credit ($49.95) or $59.95 if you are purchasing without a credit but as a VIP member. Here is a look at each piece!
Stranded In Lace Crochet Teddy - Retail Value $74.95 ($59.95 for VIP members)

This was one of those pieces that gave me pause for a few reasons. First, it is a halter. I am uh, ahem, heavier in the bust department and I generally prefer a little more life and structure in a top. The second area of concern for me was the orange strips across the hip area. Would it cut into my sides and be unflattering? Ugh! Still, though, the value of this set made this worth the gamble. And, to be honest, while I could have used a little more help in the bust area, it wasn't unflattering. I tied the tasseled halter strings up tighter which helped. And the little strappy elastic ribbons did press into me a little (I have pretty soft hips!) but it was actually super cute and not at all unflattering. I also loved all the different lace textures and the bright pink and orange color.
Stranded In Lace Crochet Plunge Bra - Retail Value $49.95 ($39.95 for VIP members)

This bra had so many pretty textures. The lace front mimics the lace on the teddy but the orange back is more of an almost athletic net sort of look that is unexpected but pretty marvelous! There is an adorable little orange tassel between the cups that is a perfect finishing touch to the whole design. I prefer unlined bras and this one doesn't add any unwanted volume but still gives me structure and lift.
Stranded In Lace Crochet Hipster - Retail Value $32.95 ($24.95 for VIP members)

I 100% prefer higher-waisted panties and I wasn't looking forward to this pair because the word "hipster" scared me. But I found it to be a fit that was still high-waisted and even had higher leg holes than I expected, which is a look that tends to be super flattering to my shorter torso. The lace is soft and comfortable and the orange band lays across my hips without cutting into my sides.
Verdict
Whenever Savage X Fenty offers an official VIP set that I love enough to select (they have one VIP set per month along with other smaller VIP-exclusive sets that launch each month) I am always blown away with the value. These pieces without a membership would have cost me $157.85. But they were only $49.95 with my monthly credit. Because I saved so much, it made me feel a little empowered to try out a piece that I wouldn't normally pick. And, well, the gamble totally paid off.
