OVP Beauty Glow Perfect Palette in 'Shade 1' – Retail Value $34

As soon as I opened this palette, I knew it was going to be a miss for my skin tone. I am pale and have a hard time with warmer browns and oranges. I can make them work as eyeshadows if I am clever with how I use them though, and although this is a face palette, I could see it working better as eyeshadow. The pigment and texture of these shadows is beautiful. Super smooth and buttery with lots of shimmer and payoff! So, while I might end up passing this on to a friend with a warmer complexion, there was a lot to like here still.
Laruce Beauty Christine Brush Set - Retail Value $50

Laruce makes nice brushes, though I am not sure they are $50 nice. This set is really pretty and includes 5 brushes that are fluffy, beautifully designed, and versatile. I always like their mattified/rubberized finish because it makes for good grip and the tube packaging keeps them safe if you have a larger makeup kit.
GIRLACTIK Metallic Eye Sparkle Shadow in 'Glam' – Retail Value $20

I love Girlactik. They make some of the prettiest shimmers and glitters for eyes and lips I have ever seen and their formulas are great! This metallic eyeshadow did not disappoint. The shade is a coppery-bronze and the liquid blends out easily with enough time to get a perfect softness before it dried completely. And once it's dry? It stays put while still maintaining a velvet and flake-free finish.
Qveen Studio Bow Down Brow Glue – Retail Value $16

I don't know if I would personally classify this formula as glue. It feels much like most clear brow gels out there. While this might disappoint many, I think it actually makes it a lot more wearable for day-to-day looks. I tend to prefer tinted brow gels but I did just tint my brows with dye, so clear is ideal for me. A few swipes and this sets my brows into a more sculpted shape with very little effort.
Beauty For Certain Deluxe Lipstick in '#18' - $18

While I loved this lipstick's cute packaging and fantastic formula, this was another case of a great product, the wrong color. The shade was just too brown to flatter me and looked weirdly pale on my face. My lipstick also arrived with some slight damage, though it didn't affect its usability. It looks like more shades are being released this fall (including a bright pink!) so I will keep my eye on this formula.
Verdict
This month's BoxyCharm was just ok for me. The total value calculated out to $138 which is great for the price of the box. But I just didn't really love anything inside except the Girlactik eye shadow. Mostly, this was due to poor color choices when it comes to my skin tone which I get can be very subjective. I will say that the variety inside was nice though and had a little bit of everything going on.
