See New Skincare is putting a hold on their next box, originally slated for September/October, according to an email that went out to subscribers. "Over the past several months as many may have experienced, we’ve seen shipping and delivery delays that have frustrated us and many of you," the email reads. "Due to these circumstances we will be immediately pausing The Skincare Box effective for September/October." The brand owners say boxes will be automatically pushed to November/December as they work through supply chain issues, and they plan to give an update in September "as we know more."

Will subscribers be charged for the September/October box? According to the email, subscribers will not be charged for the the box.

Subscribers can still shop at the Skincare Wellness Store--and they'll get 20% off with code NEWSUB.

Here's the full text of the email:

Dear See New Community,

Bryn and I are so grateful for each and everyone of you who has subscribed and experienced The Skincare Box. As young business owners, we’ve grown and learned a ton through the opportunity to serve each and everyone of you. We are incredibly grateful.

Over the past several months as many may have experienced, we’ve seen shipping and delivery delays that have frustrated us and many of you. Due to these circumstances we will be immediately pausing The Skincare Box effective for September/October. During this time, Bryn and I will continue to work through these current circumstances to ensure we can deliver you with the best possible experience every single time.

Here’s what this means to you:

          1. You will not be charged for any box over the Sep/Oct time frame.

         2. You still have full access to The Skincare + Wellness Store at 20% off using your code “SEENEWSUB”.

        3. Boxes will be automatically pushed to Nov/Dec. We will push for things to be resolved by this timeframe and will update within September as we know more.

During this time, Bryn and I will be working through all current supply chain issues we are experiencing to resolve and ensure that your experience with us is uninterrupted moving forward.

If you have any questions that can be addressed by our team, please feel free to email us and let us know as we will be happy to work with you and assist!

Best regards,

Bryn + Austin

They have a labor day bundle available. You can select 3 items from a fairly large and diverse selection of stuff (Honua, Skin Essence, Forest Rhapsody, etc) for $30. I broke down and ordered two bundles.

First off, this is a unicorn subscription box. They offer a full skin care line in each box. This is a fantastic subscription! Unfortunately, once the name got out the subscriptions grew beyond (I think) what they were expecting. I feel like they have realized this over the last several months and are trying to catch up while being at least a little transparent. Because I don’t want to lose this unicorn I am going to give them time to figure out what they have to do to move forward. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that this didn’t expand to quickly for them to manage. We’re excited to see how you do @See New Skincare! ✌

They sent me an email yesterday explaining it – but I am not surprised to hear it. I had pause my subscription, and they went ahead and charged me for a full years subscription. I had to contest it with my bank, and it’s ongoing. They have zero customer service support right now. I tried talking to them several times, before I just had to escalate it with my bank. It is really sad to see how this subscription has gone downhill. I hope they can turn it around, and that their customer service issues are resolved.

Ugh, I hope you can get a refund. I just pay monthly, though I guess they’re still charging me for September/October. Hopefully I’ll actually get a box once they resume (if they do!) Had a bad experience in the past with Goodbeing, where I only got a partial refund.

I think everyone who pays monthly should log in to their account and skip the Sept/Oct box just in case. Somehow, I can see them saying the box is paused but charging us anyway.

Two thoughts: First, if they’re behind and having supply chain issues, it’s better than they’re doing this than handling things the way that, say, Bombay and Cedar have, where (at least while I still subscribed), they were often a month or two behind in shipping boxes (I’ve heard Journeebox had a similar issue).
But I also wonder if this is the first sign that they’re going under, as other subscription boxes have “paused”, then never started up again.

I’m hoping that isn’t the case, as I’ve generally liked See New since I started with them a couple years ago, even though I’ve skipped the last few boxes (because they weren’t good options for me, like I was allergic to certain ingredients, or one was basically a repeat of another I’d received, etc.).
