Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $13 per month, you get five full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.
This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).
First Impressions
Everything comes packaged snugly in the signature pink Ipsy bubble mailer.
Included is a product card that features a list of the products and any beauty tips.
Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month’s theme is ‘You Got This.’ I love the message behind the sentiment, and I’m interested to see what lineup of products we have this time around. This month’s makeup bag is pretty eye-catching, but the first thing I thought was that it reminded me of a ballet costume I had when I was young. Though, I do wish the bag had been something a little bit more fall-themed.
Now, on to the items!
CIATÉ LONDON Glow-To Illuminating Blush in Date Night, 2.5 g - Retail Value $25.00
This Ciaté London Glow-To Illuminating Blush is super pretty. I received the shade ‘Date Night.’ Lightweight with a smooth, velvety texture, this blush applies easily and the two-tone shade blends together beautifully. Even though this is a sample size, this is going to last me for quite a while since I only apply a light dusting of blush whenever I’m wearing makeup. It’s also the perfect size for travel and easy to toss into an overnight bag. There’s long-staying power in this blush; it doesn’t seem to just wipe off with ease, which is always a win for me since my skin can be a bit on the oily side. I love the buildable, natural-looking glow this blush gives off, with its ultra-fine blend of pearlescent pigments. I’m all for saving time in my makeup routine, and with this blush-highlighter hybrid, I can do that!

GOLDFADEN MD Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Concentrate, 4 ml - Estimated Retail Value $14.67
I’m always thrilled to receive a good eye cream, and this one from Goldfaden MD is a product I’ve used and loved in the past. The Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Concentrate is a luxurious cream that helps to improve and brighten the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles under the eyes. Now, I’ve tried quite a few Goldfaden MD products, but this eye cream is a definite winner and perhaps the first product of theirs that I’ve seen such quick results from. The sample size included here is quite small, but I can say from experience that a little goes a long way, so this tube should last me for quite a while. The texture of the product is very smooth, and it applies easily to my delicate under eye skin and absorbs fast, leaving behind more nourished-looking skin. Normally I lean more toward gel-based products, but this cream is truly wonderful and doesn’t clog my pores, and I appreciate that it’s virtually unscented and cool to the touch upon application.
HEMPZ Sweet Pineapple and Honey Melon Herbal Body Butter, 53 ml - Estimated Retail Value $3.49
Although I’m usually more of a body oil kind of gal, I’m always open to trying other moisturizing products, and let me tell you… This Hempz Sweet Pineapple and Honey Melon Herbal Body Butter is divine. The scent is truly delicious and it lasts just long enough without wearing out its welcome. As far as the product’s quality, it’s top-notch. This body butter has a creamy formula that melted right into my skin, absorbing quickly, with absolutely zero greasy residue left behind. After application, my skin felt smooth and hydrated and not at all irritated. The brand’s major draw is their inclusion of 100% pure hemp seed oil in every single one of their products, providing a powerful combo of antioxidant vitamin E, calming omega fatty acids, and skin-smoothing amino acids. If you’re a fan of body butter, I highly recommend this product; especially if you enjoy the delightfully sweet scent of pineapple.
LARUCE BEAUTY LR007 Tapered Blending Brush - Retail Value $28.00
I already have a few Laruce Beauty brushes in my stash, and I’m always thrilled to add another one to my collection. This is truly a wonderful eye brush. It’s the perfect size for blending out transition shades in your crease or to apply an all-over eyeshadow. What I especially love is how soft the bristles are; definitely gentle on the delicate under eye skin, which I appreciate. A wonderful feature of Laruce brushes is the studded surface of the handle. It’s a nice touch that ensures I’ll maintain a firm grip when applying even the most detailed eye makeup. Nothing annoys me more than dropping a makeup brush when I’m in a rush. Another bonus is the clear labeling on all Laruce brushes, making it super quick and easy to identify.
BELLÁPIERRE COSMETICS Pressed Banana Setting Powder in Tan, 8 g - Retail Value $30.00
I’m a huge proponent of using setting powder as a last step in my makeup routine. I remember the first time a friend introduced me to the wonders and benefits of using a great setting powder, and this one certainly is just that: a great setting powder. The shade I received is ‘Tan,’ which is a perfect match for my skin tone. What I love about setting powder is how much longer it keeps my makeup looking fresh and shine-free. Even after a day of sweating in the hot California sun, this setting powder stands up to the test. I also doubly appreciate that this is a color-correcting powder, helping to blur pores, dark circles, and redness. Another thing I love about this product is the packaging. This powder comes in a slim compact-style container rather than with a twist-off top, which really helps to ensure access to every last drop of the product.

Verdict
I thought this was a great month for Ipsy Glam Bag! The highlight for me was Bellápierre Cosmetics’ banana setting powder, which performs wonderfully and really keeps my makeup looking fresh for much longer. I was thrilled to receive Goldfaden MD’s brightening eye cream. I love how it helps to brighten the dark circles under my eyes. The body butter from Hempz smells absolutely delightful, and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft to the touch. Ciaté London’s blush-highlighter hybrid is a really interesting item that eliminates a step from my makeup routine, and I love it. Lastly, Laruce Beauty’s blending brush… The bristles are super soft, which makes applying and blending out my eyeshadow fast and easy. Overall, this was a great month, filled with a great mix of skincare and makeup products, and the value is there.
