What's Inside This Box
Volition ACV Resurfacing Peel Pad - Retail Value - $4.00
I see apple cider vinegar as the main attraction in many hair and scalp treatments, but I don't know that I have yet seen it used in a skincare product. Maybe I am out of the loop in that regard, but ACV has always been an interesting ingredient to me. Volition uses fruit and glycolic acids to gently exfoliate the skin to brighten the complexion and remove any dead skin cells dulling the skin. I had already tested out an exfoliant below, so I didn't give this a proper go on my face, but it really softened the backs of my hands and smoothed out my skin. I am going to wait a week and then put this baby to work.
Moonlit Skincare PM Pimple Patch Pack - Retail Value - $29.00
Pimple patches have been my go-to during both of my pregnancies, and I've really counted on them to do some jobs that an acne cream or gel couldn't touch. In my experience, patches usually only come with one sheet to a package, so I couldn't believe when I opened this one up and 3 sheets fell out. Using hydrocolloid, these patches manage to draw out impurities and quell inflammation overnight. Peeling one of these patches off in the morning is almost, if not equally, as satisfying as checking out a Biore Pore Strip you've just ripped off. My hormonal acne has been off the charts, so I am happy to be stocked up on these.
Franklin & Whitman Sea Salt Hair Mist - Retail Value - $19.95
I don't know how my hairstylist did it, but she managed to cut my hair in a way that set free this wild, curly texture that was being weighed down with longer layers. I've been relying on texturizing products to keep frizz and unruly waves from becoming out of control, and this fit right in with my new hair routine. I first condition my hair then use shampoo, and douse it with this spray while it is still wet. It creates a light hold and keeps my curls clean and defined. This also looks great in my son's thick, beach-wavy mane, and I love smelling the citrus/herby notes in his hair when I pick him up.
OSEA Essential Hydrating Oil - Retail Value - $68.00
This month's high-ticket item retails for over twice the price of a monthly Kinder Beauty Box. Facial oils are my favorite type of skincare; my skin loves them! I am especially fond of oils that manage to sink into the skin without leaving an oily film or residue, and this product does exactly that. Unfortunately for me, this includes so many fragrant oils that I can't use on my sensitive skin, but I will happily slather this on my body for a boost in hydration. It has such a pleasant bergamot smell, and I really love the way the macadamia, sesame seed and jojoba oils work together to hydrate.
Well People Travel Plant Powderfoliant - Retail Value - $10.00
I am usually a chemical exfoliant fan, but physical exfoliants are a lot safer to use during pregnancy. I also really love the feeling of sloughing off dead skin cells with a gentle, yet effective cleanser or tool. Powderfoliant is a neat product that comes in a little shaker bottle, and once activated by water, it creates a lovely texture that helps to purify and rejuvenate the skin. This exfoliant uses aloe and green tea to soothe and treat the skin while charcoal and lactic acid work together to exfoliate and purify the pores. If you scroll the photos above, I used double this amount to wash my face, and it felt clean and supple after one application.
Verdict
This month's Kinder Beauty Box had a great mix of products. My skin feels incredibly smooth and pampered thanks to the Well People Powderfoliant, and I can't wait to try out the ACV exfoliant on my face in about a week or so. I was pleasantly pleased with the quality and quantity of the Moonlit Pimple Patches, and you know I can't get enough oils for this dry skin, especially from the bougie brand OSEA. Kinder Beauty is a great option if you're looking to broaden your horizons with cruelty-free and vegan options. This month’s box has a retail value of $130.95, which is an amazing value for its cost of $26.
