First Impressions
The first thing I noticed about this box when I opened it up was that this is the summer (not fall) lifestyle box. Even though this came a little late, I can’t wait to see what items have been included in this quarter’s curation. Also the shipping box was almost falling apart, hence no picture.
What's Inside The Box
The box arrives with a card that lists the products and highlights some of the brands found within.
BOMBAY AND CEDAR Happy Feet Shoe Deodorizer, 60 ml - Listed Value $16
Wow, this is a product from Bombay & Cedar that I have not seen before, and I’m so excited. I’m a little unique, I guess you could say, and so, for years I’ve been deodorizing my feet…with actual deodorant. I know that isn’t what regular deodorant was created for, so I’m especially thrilled that there is now an actual product for achieving such an effect. This Happy Feet Shoe Deodorizer by Bombay and Cedar is officially my new favorite thing. The spray is formulated without any chemicals. Instead, the formula features a unique blend of essential oils along with other natural ingredients to keep any potentially foul scent at bay. I especially love using this before and after my exercise routine, and it’s definitely helped to alleviate any worries. I’m going to have to stock up on this for the long haul, lol.
MOODmatcher Lip Set, 3-piece - Listed Value $22
Here we have a three-piece lip set from MOODMatcher, which includes two matte lip liners (shades Red and Pink) and one liquid matte lipstick in the shade Very Cherry. For my own personal makeup routine, lip liners are one of those things that I tend to deem as ‘extra.’ Sure, I’m extra in a lot of other facets of my life, but makeup isn’t exactly one of them, so with my everyday routine, I stick to the tried-and-true. What I do appreciate about these lip liners, though, is their precise tip and how smoothly they slide along my skin without any pulling or dragging. They are great for building up a ‘bolder’ look as each provides a well-pigmented result that can be as intense or as gentle as you want it to be. Same goes for the liquid lip! The color is bold and beautiful and works well with my skin tone. One thing I noticed is that both the liners and the liquid lip’s formula are slightly less hydrating than I expected because both tend to dry down, so I’d highly recommend applying a layer of hydration over top. But overall, these lip products have long-staying power and are great for all-day wear.

KOE Organic Kombucha in Watermelon, 12 fl oz - Listed Value $5
Oh, yum, kombucha! I am a huge fan of kombucha as it is, and this one is just as delightful as others I’ve tried. For me, it’s a touch sweeter than I’d prefer but not anywhere close to ‘sickeningly sweet,’ and I thoroughly enjoyed this beverage from start to finish. The kombucha is lightly carbonated, which I’m a huge fan of, and it has a very light watermelon flavor that I thought was delicious and worked very well with the drink overall. Also, I noticed that this can contains a lower sugar content than the majority of other canned kombuchas I’ve seen out there, so that is especially appreciated. If you’re a fan of kombucha and don’t mind the extra little bit of sweetness (or actually prefer it), I’d recommend giving this a try.
Natural Life Nantucket Wine Basket - Listed Value $39
This is a super unique item by Natural Life: a wine basket. I’m not a huge fan of wine, personally, and this is also one of those cute, crafty things that I never really know what to do with. This product is incredibly well made and decorated beautifully with bright flowers along the top edge. If you’re someone who has the need or desire for a wine basket, this would have been the perfect addition for a summer day at the beach (there’s always next year…). As far as myself, I’m happy to have this on hand for the upcoming holiday season. I think I’ll pass this wine basket along to a friend of mine, with the added bonus of a wine bottle to go along with it.
KANELI After Sun Cooling Jelly, 50 ml - Listed Value $36
Wow, talk about soothing! This After Sun Cooling Jelly from Kaneli is wonderfully cooling against the skin and feels great. Whether your skin is dry, burnt, or irritated, applying this stuff quickly alleviates any stinging or itching. I especially love the texture of this product; it’s an aloe-based formula that’s non-irritating. There is a mild scent but it dissipates almost instantly. The one thing I noticed is that while the jelly is fast absorbing, it does leave behind the slightest sticky texture that I can do without. Now, I rarely deal with sunburn, but I have a friend who burns very easily, and this jelly provided them instant relief. Having seen the immediate relief from this product firsthand, I’d highly recommend keeping some on hand. If you’re someone who doesn’t experience much sunburn like myself, another feature of this product is that it can be used as a wash-off mask. Simply slather a layer onto some freshly washed skin, leave on for up to fifteen minutes, and rinse off with warm water to reveal soothed skin.
OPOPOP Peel and Pour Popcorn Cups and Popping Bowl, 3-pieces - Listed Value $24
Oh, hooray, a snack! I love how this subscription box gives me the chance to try out unique snacks I never knew existed. Now, I am a huge fan of popcorn, so I was thrilled to see this inclusion. First off, the popcorn tastes delicious. But the true star of the show is that popping bowl. It’s super easy too; you just throw a handful of unpopped corn kernels right into your popping bowl, put on the vented lid, and stick it in the microwave for between two and four minutes. With my microwave, I found the sweet spot to be around two minutes and thirty seconds for me with these particular ‘peel and pour’ popcorn cups.
AN ERIN Dip Powder Nail Kit - Retail Value $46
This Dip Powder Nail Kit from An_Erin is pretty impressive and seems quite legit. That being said, this is another item I’ll more than likely pass along to a friend. I have exotic birds at home, and having nail polish on sometimes upsets them—and, to be completely honest, ever since quarantine, I’ve gotten much less into the habit of doing my nails. Yes, I may be a bit lazy, but regardless, I’d rather just go down to the salon and get them done for me. If you’re not familiar with dip powder nails, I have to admit, it’s really cool. It’s a technique that involves dipping the nails into a colored powder and then using a clear gloss on top to seal in the color. This hardens and leaves behind a long-lasting, sleek polish look. If you’re looking for a way to extend your manicure, dip powder is definitely the way to go since I’ve heard it can last for up to a month, chip-free, if you’re careful.
DANICA NOW DESIGNS Llamarama Tote Bag - Retail Value $24
I always love adding a good tote bag to my pre-existing collection despite already having plenty and certainly way more than I need. This Llamarama tote bag from Danica Now Designs is so adorable, the color scheme works great together, and it’s incredibly functional. I love how nice and compact it breaks down, which makes it especially useful for stowing away in the car in case of some unexpected errands or a random rain shower. This tote is perfect for protecting your items on the short walk from the car to your front door. I’m loving the size of this bag as well; it is deep enough and wide enough to hold pretty much any essentials. Bonus points for the bag being machine washable as well. This is a definite win for me.
Verdict
I thought this was a great quarter for Bombay & Cedar! The highlight for me was definitely the two snack items: the Opopop popcorn set and the Koe watermelon flavored kombucha. These were both new to me, and I’m glad to have some new favorites to keep an eye out for. Bombay and Cedar’s foot deodorizer is also a very welcome inclusion to this box, and I am thrilled to receive it. I’ll be getting plenty of good use out of this spray. Next up is the Danica Now Designs tote bag. I love this. The llama on the bag is super cute, and I love how much this bag can hold. Kaneli’s cooling jelly is a wonderful way to quickly soothe any kind of irritated skin, whether from sunburn, bug bites, or otherwise. MOODmatcher’s lip liner and liquid lip set is a great addition to any makeup routine as the colors are easily buildable, making it easy to go from a natural look to a bold look within moments. Lastly, we have An_Erin’s dip powder nail kit and the beautiful wine basket from Natural Life…both of these products are ones that I may wind up passing along to friends, but they are certainly quality items that were wonderful inclusions to this quarter’s box. Overall, this truly was a great summertime box. The products worked well with the season, and the value is there.
