First Impressions
Who's looking for a little Fredagsmys as the weather gets colder? The October Norlii box is built around this Swedish tradition that roughly translates to "Friday cozy." Think that total comfort-mode you go into after a long week, when all you want is to curl up on the couch with a warm blanket and a good book. This month's box was smaller than usual, but the items packed a punch regardless.
What's Inside the Box
This month's box is included five total items with a total value of around $137!
Heima candlesticks, Normann Copenhagen — Listed Price $54 and candles, Broste Copenhagen — Retail Value $6
Candlesticks were the priciest item in this month's Norlii box, and I have to admit they stood out. I've never really thought to buy candlesticks as I have cats (those of you who have them are probably nodding along!) who will knock them right over. It's limited me to jar candles all these years, but these candlestick holders have just the right minimalist design to look great on my table and make me want to throw a dinner party. (Note: I took a photo of one, but there are two identical candlestick holders in the box).
Now, what's the use of candlesticks if you don't have candles? The Norlii box creators added two linen-colored candles to this month's box, although they didn't list a price. If you got the August box, you should be familiar with Broste Copenhagen — they made the small iron tray that was included in that month's box.
Ring box, Normann Copenhagen — Listed Value $50
Wait, another ring box? Yes, this is the same as the medium ring box that was included in the Norlii box earlier this year, but they've sized up to the large and suggest using this as a bonbonniere (aka candy dish).
Danish winegums, Whally and Whiz — Listed Price $11
What's a candy dish without ... candy? I was a bit surprised to see candy in the box this time around, but the Danish winegums (basically gummy candy) were definitely yummy! Pink grapefruit and apricot flavored, they had a flavor that was totally unique. Bonus: If you're vegan, you don't have to worry about gelatin ruining your box. These gummies are vegan, too!
Linen cloth, Au Maison — Listed Value $16
I have to admit I saved my least favorite item for last. The folks at Norlii suggest the linen cloth included in the box is a "small informal table cloth," but when they say small, they aren't kidding! It's the size of your average linen napkin, which means it won't cover much!
Was This Box Worth It?
Time for the math! A Norlii subscription is $74.90 with $12.95 shipping to the US, and this box was valued at around $137.
As always, subscribers also get a chance to shop the Norlii Scandinavian Store with 20% off more goodies that fit this month's theme and complement your box!
