Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, hair care, and self-care, but they also released curated sets under their Sephora Favorites brand. A few times a year you can count on them to release a new makeup set that includes a few full-size makeup products and other goodies for a discounted price, and one of the newer sets they released is the Holiday Lip Set- a curated mix of beautiful lip products
FYI – this set is still available, while supplies last.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Sephora
NARS Afterglow Lip Shine Gloss in Orgasm, 3.7 mL - Estimated Value $17.49 (buy the 5.5 mL version for $26)
I love the Nars Orgasm line- I don’t care what product they make, if it’s in the shade “orgasm,” it’s going to be gorgeous. Their Afterglow Lip Shine is a gloss with a comfortable to wear formula that gives your lips a hint of peachy pink color with golden shimmer. I personally love shimmery makeup products, so this is exactly the kind of product I like to reach for on a regular basis. For a gloss, I didn’t find it to be particularly sticky, either.
Here I am trying it on.
PAT McGRATH LABS MatteTrance™ Lipstick in Vendetta, 1.2 g - Estimated Value $11.70 (buy the 4 g version for $39)
This isn’t one of the full size items in the kit, but this is the lipstick that absolutely stole the show for me- I see myself buying the full-size version in the future because I love it so much. The shade Vendetta is a deep red that really made me feel more powerful as soon as I applied it. Pat McGrath knows how to make a comfortable matte lipstick and this is definitely one of the most comfortable red matte lipsticks I’ve ever worn, but it also has really great staying power. It lasted all day for me, including through lunch, and I didn’t need any touch ups until the end of the day.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in Nearly Neutral, 3.8 mL - Retail Value $18
I really love the Rare Beauty makeup line, and I was excited to try this glossy lip balm out for the first time. The shade "nearly neutral" is described as a soft neutral pink, but I don't get much pink from it- it's all nude. It's a comfortable gloss formula that wasn't really sticky, and I like that this felt like it was actually hydrating my lips.

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Hydrating Lip Plumper in Clear, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $8 (buy the .10 oz version for for $16)
I’ve tried the Too Faced lip plumper quite a few times, and while I don’t use it, I do think that if you like using a lip plumper, this one by Too Faced is the way to go. I have sensitive lips and find the tingling sensation this gives to be uncomfortable, but it does make a noticeable difference in the plumpness of my lips 5-10 minutes after it’s applied.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk, 0.12 oz - Retail Value $34
I am a big, big fan of the Pillow Talk line from Charlotte Tilbury- I own the lip liner, blush, lipstick, lip gloss, and eyeshadow quad, all in the "pillow talk" shade from Charlotte Tilbury. Even though this is a repeat product for me, I was stoked to have a backup of my go-to professional lipstick color that I can now keep at my desk at work. Pillow Talk is a nude pink neutral that pulls more pink than the Rare Beauty gloss does, and I think it looks lovely with my complexion. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick formulas are just as dreamy as the Pat McGrath ones, too, in terms of buttery smooth applications and being comfortable to wear with lasting staying power.

Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Lipstick in Backtalk, 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $5.18 (buy the 0.11 oz version for $19)
Backtalk is a mauve nude pink and I just love this shade. It almost has lilac undertones to it that make it a bit unique to your standard mauve nude, but it’s still demure and really, really pretty. It’s formulated with aloe vera and avocado oil, and I appreciate how creamy and non-drying it felt on my lips.

GXVE BY GWEN STEFANI Anaheim Shine Clean High-Performance Satin Lipstick in Original Recipe, 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $7.80 (buy the 0.10 oz version for $26)
The GXVE lipstick has a tough act to follow considering it was love at first swipe for me with the Pat McGrath red lipstick. This is described as a true red, but I personally see some blue and berry undertones in it that make it seem a little more vivid than a classic true red. The formula is comfortable, though I do prefer the PMG formula a bit more, and I didn’t find this to be especially drying (which is awesome for a matte).

Here are the swatches on my arm. From top to bottom we have the Pat McGrath, GXVE, Urban Decay, Nars, Charlotte Tilbury, and Rare Beauty.

Key Takeaways
I always look forward to the Sephora holidays sets, and this lip set did not disappoint. While my math adds up to a value that's short of what the promised value was, I love the products that were sent (especially the full-size), which adds a lot of personal value to this set for me- and, I loved discovering that deep red shade of Pat McGrath lipstick. This set would be a great gift for anyone who loves playing with different lip colors, and I like the different brands featured. Overall, I'm happy with this set- and I am keeping an eye out for a future Pat McGrath sale.
